i rush them when i feel like playing the game actively for a couple hours usually
I do them whenever I remember (rushing I guess), or I forget and it becomes the 31st and I try to finish 3-5 and the reset happens while I'm on my final kill and I rip.

That's a lot of buckets. What fleet are you using on 3-5? It's a bit of a pain, but it shouldn't take you that many buckets from my experience. Also, unless you won't be able to play the rest of the month, there's no reason to rush it anyway.
Also, I spent 10k yen last summer when DMM had this promotion thing, so I got 15k points for it. That was great xd.

3-5 south route is bs. i don't know why people say it's the better route cause i get rekt way too much on it. i'll be taking north route this month lol. i think the higher resource drain is worth not losing half my buckets

I did another two attempts for Bismarck (15th and 16th attempt) using 5/6/7/3 20 and all that came out was Yamashiro and Haruna, respectively.

I don't think that I need such a high amount of res if my bucket count can't handle the next event. Maybe I should just level some ships or LSC....

3-5 south and 2-5 north work out a lot better if you sparkle and have higher level ships. I find that when you're lower level, the performance of your ships are too inconsistent to get decent results, but if your destroyers are around that level 70-80 mark, then you should be just fine.captin1 wrote:

...Of course, things are still really inconsistent... I still find 3-5 to be really frustrating at times (took me like 10-12 attempts or something this month), but ultimately you use far less resources and it doesn't require that many more buckets.

Damn, Kako got Kakoii (I'm sorry.) I've been planning to lvl Kako for a while already, since I really like Furutaka, so her becoming badass gives me a good reason to lvl her now. She's been sitting around lvl 19 since forever.

It's my first time doing 3-5, and I'm already annoyed by it. (South route)
Doing the 1CL/5DD composition, I've only managed to get to the boss once in 7 runs.
I'm finding it really hard to pass the first two nodes, there's usually one DD that goes taiha there. The DDs equips 2 x 12.7cm + 1 radar, while the CL equips 2 x 15.5 cm + seaplane and all kai ni (66+).
Is there something I'm missing or do I just have bad luck?
EDIT: cleared it in 15 runs, pure rng torture.

Focus on getting 2-3 of every ship type in the game (preferrably more for some types like bb or cv), and leveling them to a decent level. In general, starting to save resources around when it's announced, or a little before should be fine, especially if your ships are ready, since you'llsave a lot of resources (and sanity) by not having your ships rekt or shiplocked.
As for buckets, you can just keep doing exp. 2 for them, and you'll have a decent amount by the event. Also having a lot of resources wont help if your ships are underleveled, so def. Focus on that.

If you're in need of buckets, say, during an event, you can use exp. 4 as well, but just running exp 2 will give you an average of 1 bucket every hour, so yeah.

How far are you guys in with the sortie worlds? I've hit a wall at 5-3 and pretty much gave up on trying to overcome this horrifying map.
I'm still in 4-4, nothing's really compelling me to go to world 5 (although I'm slowly completing 4-4 to get to 5-1, then off to 4-5)

- Kaga - Shiden Kai 2 / Reppuu / Reppuu / Type 21 (skilled)
I went with 2FBB 2CAV 1CA 1CV for 4-5, which worked fairly well. Stacking Reppuu 601 and Reppuu's on Kaga and the CAVs made me barely get AS on bossnode, and even though she can't attack, having that extra FBB worked out pretty well. The final kill was a bit of a lucky run for me though, so I'll have to see if I'm gonna change my fleet up for the final kill next month. + It could be that I was just lucky overall. Having CAV will also prevent you from getting a D on the submarine node. The AP Shell on Italia is mostly for her to have enough power to sink as much fodder as possible on boss node.
One of my problems is that I only have 1 CAV (Mogami) and I don't have enough medals for Chikuma and Tone, so I'm forced to bring 2CV. And my Kaga only packs around 170 AS, which is much lower than what I need for the boss node.

Have you tried 4BB 2CV? (or something like that, I forgot). From what I've heard the night battle node and the node afterwards isn't too much of a pain.
You need to meet the LoS requirement to get to the boss, which is like 28 or something for the hardest difficulty according to the wiki.

Personally, I would recommend that only if you are on your way to the final kill. With your fleet resources at 60%, you are still at full power.
The night battle node only has BRS as the most dangerous nuker. The preboss is set on diamond formation, which cripples the enemy's accuracy. 2 Ru kai can still beat you hard without luck.
When taking this way I managed to pull off that kill (and even reach the boss) much more easily than on my other tries by choosing the middle route.
It's all about RNG, always.
^If he's having problems getting to the boss, so trying other compositions is good to see if he gets a higher encounter rate

You must be trolled by the compass maybe. It's known to drive you everywhere else but the boss after the preboss node.... (especially this map, 33% to go to boss or something, since there are 3 possible outcome) Perhaps you're just grinding like Sonata said. The north route allows a much more solid comp yes. As long as you don't meet BRS, it should go well....

I'm fine with bauxite costs, since I'm under soft-cap and I don't use CVs that much.
And I don't think 300 - 500 bauxite per run is absurd

Finally married one of my ships \o/
Good news to those who wants to sign up for this game. DMM has finally setup a lottery-free server, so you're free to sign up whenever you want to until the server gets overloaded. Lottery will probably be a thing again when that happens. Other than that, I've recently been powerleveling a lot. Trying to powerlevel CVs now for the Summer event.

So the update gave us Tatsuta summer CG, Amagi Kai dmg CG update (I am totally okay with that), Isuzu AA CI without the fire detector, Fusou and Yamashiro summer lines, and Agano-class and Verniy buffing.
