lastly: 04:43:080 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - regardless of what you say about this fitting the beat, it doesn't, and plays incredibly poorly. i recommend starting with a low DS and gradually building up. an example of what i mean is here http://puu.sh/i6WRR/34626ba277.jpg keep in mind you can change the DS to be greater if you wish, however realize that as it stands right now the space really does nothing to add to the beat and just serves as artificial difficulty. (fight me)

Judging from the title of your mp3 file, I'm guessing this was a rip from YouTube ?

Saved you some trouble, so I've got the album down and a new mp3 for you.
Includes the nice album art, and I've thrown in a custom normal-hitclap that works well with the song as a bonus.

Generally your song has some interesting potential for some hitsample mixing due to the genre (eg. cymbals, hihats and heavy downbeats)
I'd recommend putting a custom silent-spinner sample for this too.

Once you replace the mp3 the offset will be displaced, so please ensure you make the proper re-adjustments for all your timing points and hitobjects.

Solid map from what I've seen.
All modding is done on a modified difficulty with the new mp3, timing and custom hitclap included.


Chasing:


Most of the flow is pretty well-defined and accentuated with back-and-forths and timely use of anti-jumps.
Can get kind of tricky because you'd want to make sure you get these down at the right sections for full effect.

Really do like that the map 'holds' it's movements at times like the patterns from - 01:42:893 -
Thoughtful, and quite neat to play.

- 01:08:607 (4) - Starting from the first slider, would suggest using 0.9x slider velocity for that subtle change on this entire section until - 01:35:007 (2) -

- 01:18:550 (3) - Suggestion for a slight touch-up.

- 01:20:607 (6) - ^

- 01:59:179 (2) - Could be like this ?

- 02:12:036 (1) - Try x:180 y:264 for a change ?

- 02:47:007 (1) - Overlaps just a little, so why not shift it 1 grid right ?

- 03:02:950 (7,8) - Maybe rotate these on selection by -11 ?

- 03:40:493 (1) - The entirety of this slider section can be optimized if you decide to include a silent slider-slide sample, that way you won't have to deal with having to manually make inherited timing sections just to change the volume.

- 03:56:265 (5) - This part onwards could use gradual SV increments. For example, going from 1.0x, then 1.2 and so on until 1.25x which is your highest.

- 04:02:436 (1) - Recommend you just swap to the custom hitclap because the normal clap sample really wrecks the immersion in my opinion.
It's a bit too much obnoxious against this kind of song, while the whistles seem to fit in alright.

HP Drain at 7 or 7.5 seems fine. Considering you're planning on using OD9 and there are a handful of sections without notes this makes it feel too punishing for small mistakes. This might be okay if this was OD 8 - 8.5 though.

01:01:077 (6,7) - Move the clap from 7 to 6.

03:24:048 (4) - Something about this slider feels weird. It would look a lot smoother if you structure the loop nodes to more of a hexagon shape. Not the best example but looks a little more structured.

04:01:077 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - select 5-8 and move them down slightly and then move 6 and 7 a little lower so it does kind of like a mini u. Something like this.


Personal view(You can completely disregard this one if you want)

I feel the 1/8 sliders around the song (like 00:38:619 (6,7,8) - for example) feel really out of place. In some cases 1/4 sliders would have the same effect and still sound nice when played or even just notes would have the same spacing and not add an in-between sound that doesn't quite fit the melody, etc.

Also when I playtested this it felt WAY easier than a 5.4 star map minus a few patterns that really seem to spike the difficulty. The SV and spacing in general make it feel like it should be more of an insane or baby extra (somewhere like 4.9-5.1 star range)

A map like this would be such a free PP grind considering the length, OD and HP.


Overall this map feels really nice the flow is very consistent and smooth and the patterns feel natural even during breaks (the ones before the kiai) verses, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets ranked very soon honestly. Good job and best of luck :)

We changed some of hitsound files and fixed some minor stuff via IRC (unfortunately, I lost the whole chat lol). Oh and we reduced the drain to 7. Have fun and good luck.

02:11:619 (4,5,6,1) - very abrupt flow provides contrast before the kiai and helps single out the cutting off of everything but the vocals
03:51:991 (3,4,5,6) - why? compliment the wubs, another example of this is Priti's FUNKY SUMMER BEACH
03:58:334 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - seems like no pattern here How should I fix it? Why is this an issue?
04:01:762 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - random spaced stream outta nowhere with sharp turn listen to the music and try again

Unfortunately, the Quality Assurance Team has decided to disqualify this beatmap. The following is a list of reasons and examples for the disqualification. We do not outline every issue in detail, so make sure to take the idea behind each reason and apply it to the entire beatmap as issues might be found in more than the spots mentioned below.   1. (M) Mapping Quality
    - Random / Unreasonable spacings or spacing changes. Spacing is one of the most important parts of mapping Insane difficulties, as it defines the flow and emphasis of a beatmap. If you use a jump, it stresses the note the player jumps to, as the cursor movement speed is higher. If you put lower spacing, the cursor movement speed is slower, and therefore the note gets stressed less. Spacing should always relate to the music as best as possible, to make the map fit to the music well.
    In this map, many circle patterns have (what seems to be) random spacing changes, even though there is nothing in the music that would call for it. Often the jumps feel exaggerated, as there is no strong sound in the music that would justify them. There are also a lot of patterns that flow rather poor due to abrupt spacing changes, as the player needs to slow down or speed up without any relation to the music, which will cause unintuitive flow. There are also quite a few patterns that go back on themselves in a weird way, which doesn't play intuitive in these cases and can cause readability problems.
    • Examples:
    1. 00:26:791 (4,5) - Why is this jump so big? There is no strong beat at (5) that would justify it.
    2. 00:27:477 (2,3,4,5,6,1) - There is nothing in the music that would justify big jumps like these. They also play pretty poor due to the sharp movements.
    3. 00:41:019 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1) - Weird pattern with random spacing changes. It also goes back on itself here 00:41:705 (5,6) which makes it feel cramped and rather unintuitive.
    4. 00:57:305 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - Same as above.
    5. 01:00:562 (3,4,5,6,7,1) - Again, the spacing changes don't seem related to the music.
    6. 01:30:562 (3,4) - The unusually low spacing between these objects doesn't work well, as the player expects a jump after 01:30:562 (3) - due to the repetition of 01:29:705 (6,1) -
    7. 01:47:019 (5,6,7,8,9,10,1) - Another pattern with random spacing changes, that goes back on itself.
    8. 01:49:762 (5,6,7,8,9,10,1) - Same as above.
    9. 02:19:419 (9,1,2) - You should avoid linear jump reductions like this, as they flow pretty poor. The transition from a big spacing to a low spacing can play well, but not if the player continues moving in the same direction. The cursor movement is fast due to the jump, but then it needs to slow down abruptly.
    10. 03:08:448 (4,5,1) - Same as above.
    11. 03:11:362 (5,6) - Unreasonably huge jump.
    12. 03:58:334 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - The music builds up here so increasing the spacing makes sense, but the pattern still has random spacing variations and seems rather unstructured.
    13. 04:01:077 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - Why does this stream, especially the second half, have such a high spacing? The music is far less intense for this measure 04:01:077 - compared to the previous section and the chorus. It serves as a small break before the chorus, yet the stream's spacing makes it really difficult and exaggerated to play.
    14. 04:09:134 (9,1,2) - Another instance of linear jump reduction.
    15. Keep in mind that these are just examples of said issues, there are more similar patterns with unreasonable spacings in this map that need to be eliminated before a requalification.
    - Unreasonable circle - slider - composition or unfitting rhythms. A couple of rhythm-choices in this map are rather questionable. Keep in mind that stronger notes should have a circle or sliderhead while weaker notes can be mapped with slidertails. The players click on circles and sliderheads, which has a higher impact than releasing a key.
    This map has some very strong beats mapped with slidertails, which doesn't emphasize them correctly. There is also a questionable extended slider, which should be avoided as it could simply be replaced with an 1/1- or 1/2-slider in this case.
    • Examples:
    1. 01:50:791 to 02:01:762 - The circle - slider - composition is particularly poor in that section. Please avoid sliders that end on a stronger beat, like 01:51:991 (1) - , 01:53:362 (1) - or 01:54:734 (1) - for instance.
    2. 02:12:048 (1) - This slider literally ends on the strongest beat of this song, the beginning of the chorus, so please avoid that.
    3. 02:37:934 (3) - There is a strong beat at 02:38:105 but not at 02:38:191 - , so this extended slider seems out of place.

The only major issue in here, I always try to hit the next circle on the big white tick because of the new comboing. The slider is misleading.

Yeah that is pretty weird.


I think the spacing stuff is way too picky, this is a jump map with consistent 1/2, it's gonna disregard spacing at points.
Also most of the pointed out patterns make sense in what they are trying to do (like 00:57:305 - is 1-5 for small spacing, 6-8 for large due to new instrument)

For the last three points, the last two are definitely worth considering / worth fixing.

Hi! I'd like to drop some suggestions that came into my mind.

It would be nice if you could clean up some blankets. Example: 04:20:448 (2,3) -
03:28:848 (1) - Increase the spacing slightly, to make it even clearer that it's 1/1? It seems slightly confusing as it right now is.
03:51:991 (3,4,5,6) - Please silence the end of those 1/8, as it will make them sound way better (as there is no real sound on 03:52:034 - , but I see that you wanted to emphasize these sounds)
04:01:077 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Would be nice if this stream gets some hitsounds, which causes more feedback - and thus better playability.
02:07:248 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - I could imagine a pattern, where the 3/4 sliders get slower and slower. This will emphasize 02:09:991 - this part as well, as it will get really jumpy here. A perfect contrast, imo.
02:11:362 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Same as above, some hitsounds wouldn't hurt here.

It's the small things that make a map perfect~ 03:24:048 (4) - Beautiful slider by the way. Good luck on your further processing!

I think these pauses in between compliment the calmness of the map. Adding those sliders will just make everything too involved in the section and there are perfectly audible changes in the lyrics on those beats.

I can't say your reasoning warrants the spacing of the stream at all. It's as simple as this, the intensity isn't there, and you're completely forcing it. The contrast point doesn't correlate with the song at all, if you want legit contrast, use a few low spaced 1/4 sliders. The 1/4 sliders would be justified with all the different percussion sounds/pitches in the last stream, and with the last 1/4 slider before the kiai you can create a jump. With the current stream, I actually perceive the last chorus to be underwhelming, not sure how to explain that though.

03:59:705 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - These don't play very well. 03:59:705 (1,2,3) - is almost linear and have different spacings. Linear jumps are already difficult to snap on, since there's a lack of momentum change, and with this spacing it just forces the player to accelerate instead.

03:59:705 (1,2) - The spacing increase here is justified with that build of that held sound in the background (idk what to call it), but it shouldn't be more spaced than 04:00:048 (3,4). In fact, you've grouped the beats incorrectly, plus the new combos. The jumps are supposed to be grouped in threes, with emphasis on 04:00:219 (4,3). Out of this entire pattern, 04:00:048 (3,4) and 04:00:562 (2,3) shouldve have the largest jumps. 03:59:705 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - so with that this should be your NC pattern.

04:07:934 (1,2,3) - Shouldn't have such simple flow. 04:08:448 (3) - the synthesizer here could really use some emphasis.

04:08:962 (8,9) - Good job with the flow change here, but 04:08:791 (7,8) - this spacing is really underwhelming for the synthesizer.

04:24:305 - You could use a triplet here to accent 04:24:391 (1) - better.

02:54:734 (4,5,6) - 02:54:734 (4,5) shouldn't be larger spacing than 02:54:905 (5,6), you probably know why by now.

02:54:219 (2,3) - Randomly low spacing, synthesizer blabhbalblahbalhbalbahlbahlhlbhlhlbalhba

I have to agree with almost everything Nathan wrote except for those triplets.

Also one suggestion about 04:08:962 (8,9) - and all this pattern: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3280401
First of all, you will be keeping a perfect spacing between 04:07:934 (1,2,3) - but you will be emphasising more the beats as you add more spacing.
Moreover, your previous (8,9) was kinda "tricky" and it so could lead players to an unexpected miss, so with this you will be creating a more "used" pattern.

Fixed everything on Nath's mod but the stream because I'm not sacrificing something I find fit because two or three people don't like it. I already sacrificed a lot of stuff I did in this map and I don't want to sacrifice another.

I also went in and changed all the awkward spacing I can find.

I'ma leave the rest to the BN's strictly. If you guys are interested in requalifying, PM me ingame, I'm not gonna ask for anymore icon checks for this map.

EDIT: This doesn't mean that I'm done with the map lol. I'm just done asking for BN's and checks and mods. I want the BN's and other modders/checkers to approach me, not me approach them.
