Blue Stig never gets scolded (or at least no one cares so far) because he at least, thought on desaturating/darkening the blue and didn't cranked it up all the way to the roof.
The problem with your choice of colour is that its literally one of the highest values (255,0,255) of 6 possible colours (8 counting in black and white) you can get in RGB.
For the other 5 it's pretty unpleasant to look at them aswell.

EDIT2: (okay after remeasuring the fucking thing i realized that it's off by a small margin, yellow being around 5%~ and blue being at 85%~ so it still is somewhat "okay" as an visual representation of things)
