I think it would be cool if the developers added a feature to calculate the gradient of the line on the performance graph, that way one would be able to give a numerical value when working out how much progress someone has made in the amount of time they have been playing

Can't you just look at a day, and the day before that, and it has the same effect?
I don't see the point in this, as it will get more cluttered and such
Also, why do you even want to know the gradiënt of it?
For this, as on the 'X-axis', 1 thing is 1 day, so the gradiënt means progress per day
I guess you can calculate that yourself
Old rank-New rank=progress

There're a few interesting 3rd party projects in the Development forum, I think you'll be particularly interested in osu!Track. Browse around for other apps if you want more.
There're tons of good ideas waiting to be implemented and I personally feel that things like stats are better handled by 3rd projects.
