13/2/2015 - The osu! Malaysia Winter Tournament 2014/2015 has come to an end.

Fortunately, there is a break for CF in the second week's matches so there is actually room in the second week for all those who cannot make it on the first week. However, delayed matches can be held no later than CF's weekend.

Yes, each player can pick one warm-up beatmap of their choice each before the match starts. There is a total of 2 warm-up beatmaps. After that, !roll is used and the real match begins with the ban phase.

11am - NazzzF v MoyBei - With the rise of NazzzF to the sixth spot in the Malaysia rankings and being the 4th seed of the tournament, he is heavily favoured to win this matchup. However, MoyBei has beaten players all ranked higher than him in the OMUC Amateur Division to be the champion such as rampaxhellex, so can he pull off the biggest upset yet? Vote on challonge - 81% voted for NazzzF, 19% for MoyBei

8pm - AkoSuminoe v D e s - Personally, the match I am looking the most forward to tomorrow. AkoSuminoe is considered to be one of the biggest talents that can rise to threaten the top players very, very soon. D e s is a mouse-only player who I believe is underrated. Both seem to be weaker at aim, but has really good speed. Vote on challonge - 88% voted for AkoSuminoe, 12% voted for D e s.

10pm - TequilaWolf v -Takamina- - TequilaWolf is an established player, holding the 9th spot in the Malaysian rankings for several months. -Takamina-, previously known as CharlotteAI finished 2nd in the OMUC several months ago and is looking to establish himself in the Malaysian scene at the higher level. Vote on challonge - 76% voted TequilaWolf, 24% voted for -Takamina-. Looks like quite a few people believe there can be an upset.

11pm - ExPew v onoz - ExPew has proven himself to be one of Malaysia's best players for several years, but has not played very much at all in the past year. Onoz is a player who only emerged this year, and occupies the 55th spot on the rankings, but doesn't seem to play much nowadays either. I personally am not very familiar with onoz but ExPew is heavily favoured to win this matchup, seen in the challonge vote - 94% for ExPew, 6% for onoz,

12pm - [MY] Yummy90 XP vs Talent2find98 - A really good NoMod player against a monster DT player who can read AR10.3. Accuracy plays a less important role here in multiplayer. Will talent2find98 shine in this environment or will yummy prevail? Challonge vote - 78% for [MY] Yummy90 XP, 22% for Talent2find98
3pm - L u m i n o u s vs sushipack321 - Luminous, formerly known as I3abymilo88 has been at the top of the Malaysian rankings for a long time, and is known to be able to play every mod. sushipack321 is a person who has been slowly rising through the Malaysian ranks. Will sushipack321 be able to give Luminous a run for his money? Challonge vote - 74% for L u m i n o u s, 26% for sushipack321
4pm - caleb123456 vs duan100_ - One of the most well-known names in the top scene, caleb123456 goes up against a player on the other end of being known in the Malaysian scene. Challonge vote - 79% for caleb123456, 21% for duan100_
9pm - _AI vs ZYuan - Formerly one of the top players in Malaysia, _AI has been inactive in the past months and is reportedly quitting after this tournament. ZYuan is an upcoming player. Under normal conditions, it would appear to be a 50-50 match but _AI has not been playing much at all. I have to say ZYuan starts as the favourite here. Challonge vote - 65% for _AI, 35% for ZYuan
11:59pm - rampaxhellex vs Yuu-Chii - One of the fastest players in Malaysia, who switched from mouse to tablet and back to mouse - rampaxhellex goes up against Yuu-Chii, a former Malaysia top player. Will rampaxhellex show that the new blood is taking over or will Yuu-Chii show that the old guard is not to be taken for granted? Challonge vote - 74% for rampaxhellex, 26% for Yuu-Chii.

2pm - Spritzer vs arebang9462 - Spritzer has been one of the top 3 Malaysian players for many years now, and is the highest seed in this tournament. His first match will be against the lowest seed, will it be a clean win or will arebang manage to put up a good fight? Challonge vote - 86% for Spritzer, 14% for arebang9462

4pm - [ Jewel Loli ] vs xIcedTea - Jewel is very good in really fast and big jumps, and very fast maps in general; while IcedTea is also a solid DT player. The two players are very close to each other in skill, personally I think this will the closest match for today, and should be interesting to watch! Challonge vote - 84% for [ Jewel Loli ], 16% for xIcedTea

9pm - ffstar0716 vs Chloe_miku - ffstar is one of the best mouse(only) players and has displayed extremely solid performances throughout multiple tournaments he has taken part in, while Chloe is one of the lower-seeded players, will she manage to dent da star? Challonge vote - 85% for ffstar0716, 15% for Chloe_miku

(also on 9pm but unstreamed) - ClawViper vs walaowey - Claw is among the most-improved players in 2014, and has performed extremely well (placed first) in a certain past 1v1 LAN tournament. Will he manage to replicate that feat in this tournament as well? walaowey, another one of the lower-seeded players in this tournament, is the first opponent he has to get through. Challonge vote - 84% for ClawViper, 16% for walaowey

10pm - Leminine vs Conflict - Lemi is one of the slightly older, very good players who never really cared about getting higher ranks, but is actually very strong. On the other hand we have Conflict, a promising new-ish player that has gotten very good in a short while. Both excel at NoMod. This is another one of the interesting matches of today! Don't miss it! Challonge vote - 89% for Leminine, 11% for Conflict

Let me share the highlight of the first round, best match of round one with very few stream issues, featuring Leminine and Conflict!

rampaxhellex vs Yuu-Chii and Wilbell vs Rawn will be delayed to next week as both matches have experienced issues. There will be no other matches in Week 2 as many players are attending the Comic Fiesta, and are on vacation.

Sorry, I have no control over the map pool, and to be honest it is really more difficult than I anticipated (I personally thought this should be Week 5/6 mappools instead of 3/4...) However, voicing your opinions about the map pool here will definitely help if [ -Scarlet- ] sees this.

OMWT Week 3 Day 1

Only two matches today since 3 people doesn't seem to like Friday nights and changed their match to a weekend.


9:00pm - xIcedTea vs walaowey - 11 votes for xIcedTea and 2 for walaowey, xIcedTea is the clear favourite for this matchup. He is also a relatively established mouse + keyboard player in Malaysia, being ranked 32 in Malaysia, while walaowey is extremely low ranked. However, from my match against walaowey, I expect him to put up a performance that is stronger than what his rank suggests! Maybe not enough to pull off the upset, but a performance he can be proud of.

11:00pm - NazzzF vs [MY] Yummy90 XP - 10 votes for NazzzF and 2 for Yummy. NazzzF is one of the title contenders in the tournament, while Yummy is an established player known for his good aim. Can Yummy give Naz a run for his money? I think Yummy is more than capable of taking a game or more.

7:00pm: duan100_(3 votes) vs Wilbell (8 votes) - Wilbell can be known to be rather inconsistent in multiplayer, while duan100_ is a rather unknown player in the Malaysian scene, ranked outside the top 100. Wilbell is expected to win if he is able to play his normal game, but can duan100_ show signs of potential by taking a game or even more?

8:00pm: Chloe_miku(3 votes) vs Leminine (10 votes) - Leminine suffered a shock loss to Conflict in an exciting match in week 1. Chloe_miku, similar to duan100_ is a rather unknown player at the top level of competition. The edge is with Leminine.

9:00pm: SolarFox (4 votes) vs Yuu-Chii (6 votes) - A very new player to the Malaysian scene goes up against one of the 'old guard' who was a former top player in Malaysia years ago, representing Malaysia in the OWC 3 years ago. Will SolarFox show that the new blood is in control now, or will Yuu-Chii show that despite barely playing, he continues to stay a step ahead of the new generation?

10:00pm: onoz (1 vote) vs L u m i n o u s (12 votes) - The vote says it all. Against one of the established top players in Malaysia, onoz stands a herculean task against L u m i n o u s.

11:00pm: ExPew (10 votes) vs sushipack321 (3 votes) - Unable to get leave in week 1 and playing at his workplace with a mouse, ExPew's loss was probably the biggest upset alongside Leminine in round 1. Now in the loser's bracket, he seeks to show his real strength - now with his tablet.

11:00pm (unstreamed): arebang9462 (4 votes) vs ZYuan (9 votes) - arebang9462 did not turn up for his week one match. The big question is, will he turn up for his match against ZYuan?

12:00am: ffstar0716 (10 votes) vs Conflict (3 votes) - ffstar, our mouse-only representative for OWC 2014, known for his consistency in multiplayer goes up against the giant-killer Conflict, who created the biggest upset in week 1 versus Leminine. Will Conflict continue his giant-killing feat, or will ffstar stop him in his tracks?

3pm - TequilaWolf (8 votes) vs AkoSuminoe (6 votes): Considered by many to be the match to watch in this second round of the winner's bracket, this match-up showcases a very interesting battle between two players known to be the few leading mouse + keyboard players in the country.

AkoSuminoe: I wonder who is more consistent in multiplayer.
TequilaWolf: Ako is a really good player, I think this match can go either way and it will be a close fight. If it goes to tiebreaker though I say I have the edge because I have 50m on that \:D/

8pm - MoyBei (4 votes) vs Talent2find98 (9 votes): The winner of the amateur division of the OMUC gets another try at another one of the higher-ranked players in the tournament. While he finds NazzzF too difficult to handle, can he cause an upset here?

9pm - ClawViper (13 votes) vs [ Jewel Loli ] (1 votes): Jewel Loli is not to be underestimated, with his convincing performance in the first round against xIcedTea.

10pm (unstreamed): -Takamina- (5 votes) vs D e s (8 votes): arebang9462 actually turned up for his match yesterday... will -Takamina- turn up as well, or will he continue the ponteng trend?

10pm - caleb123456 (9 votes) vs Rawn (2 votes): Caleb's overconfidence in the first round made the score against duan100_ seem much closer than the match really was, but I don't think he can afford to be overconfident against Rawn, who knocked out Wilbell in a truly close match.

11pm - Rumia (8 votes) - vs Rampax (2 votes): Not many people would give Rampax any chance at all a few months ago, but with the New Year the much-improved Rampax has a point to prove that he is indeed one of the leading and improving players in Malaysia, while Rumia- seeks to establish that the top players in Malaysia are still a step above the next generation. A battle of the old vs new!
