I was messing around with stuff in gimp and thought of a concept for a menu button that would make things way less cluttered and give more purpose to the window to the left of the song.

This is a very very rough concept, just something to get a point across.

This would be skinable of course, and each of the diamonds would be able to be selected with the mouse click or arrow key left/right.

rather ironic that it makes menu-button-background look more cluttered :(

Some maps have 10+ diff/mode and those will be quite hard to pack in. If you make the icons smaller to deal with that, people playing low-res windowed will complain that they can't see anything.

Frankly I don't like the clutter either =.=

I like the idea.

Iam not quite sure what this is all about.

Do you want to change it so that >this< gets changed into what you posted, or do you want a little preview on closed/inactive songs?

Either way, I dont think it'd make it less cluttered, more the opposite of it. I want to have a good overview over the diffs in a mapset. Being forced to click on small icons (imagine that with the lowest resolution) that are forced into a small field while you probably cant even read the long GD diffname doesnt sound appealing to me.

Yeah that so it's not displaying the beatmap set in a single window. I honestly didn't think of the maps that have 10+ mapsets,
