It's been a while since I've last played competitive online matches in Pokémon 4th gen. To my knowledge, Nintendo disabled wifi for the Wii and DS. Is there still a way to play with others online? Thanks in advance!

its rumored that there is a server called altwfc that mimicks Nintendo WFC
It wasn't disabled; the service was shut down entirely due to GameSpy. Full details here.
