I just heard that Loctav only accepts finalized rosters.
I'm not saying I can't submit a provisional one now.

For team sign ups, fill out this form. Then, verify your registration by sending a PM to Loctav titled “OWC Registration”Captains may change their setup
by notifying the management.
edit: and this...
If you have any changes you wish to make during the registration phase, request it via a PM.

im really excited to see Rucker play again, he was my favorite player last owc with how hard he almost carried his team to 1st, and now that his team doesnt even really NEED to be carried he's just going to be extra horsepower on an engine that was already fixed on victory.

But if the matches won and subsequently wins, losses difference is the same, only then is that third rule used. In that case the team with the lower win percentage will be higher ranked.buny wrote:

Why not play and occasionally commentate some of the matches? There's plenty of good players with high English skills that would be suitable for this (you're one of them).Omgforz wrote:

it's like letting an amature club play in the world cup football.
Sure, PP isn't accurate. But I am pretty sure a team of 8, all in the top 500, are going to beat a team of rank 5,000+ with ease.mayank0 wrote:

You don't need to save slots or whatever bullshit. There is no "first come, first serve". The most competitive teams registered will be accepted. The teams will be released after registration phase.

My point is only that let all countries have a try in atl ensuring a chance to play since this is a wc not a champions league or something.... Not always do higher ranked players get the win since osu doesn't work like that....Bauxe wrote:

Plus, there are another 3(4) other world cups too, they don't have time to do qualifier tournaments, and other things like that. If you want to be in the OWC, have a team that is good enough to be somewhat competitive in some situations.
If you want to play, form a team good enough to compete. Simple.mayank0 wrote:

It's something I personally would rather deal with when it happens, also, a lot of the US players have been on the edge of whether they will play or not. Along with that, there are a few players who have risen in ranking recently that I need to talk to and assess before deciding whether they get a spot on the team or not.
Basically, it's better to do these things "in the moment" rather than in advance, when people can't fully commit and I don't have all the information I need to form the best team. There's a reason we're given 3 weeks, I would like to think.
Also, some people are kind of immature.. so deciding the team beforehand will cause drama when they get left out (which I don't want to deal with. And yes, this happens.)

People have already asked for some pro players to commentate and the three of us fit that category. We're pretty serious about it and we have a few reasons as to why it'd be good for us to do so:
1: We're all native English speakers with pretty clear voices.
2: We have all modded maps extensively, one of us is a BAT and another of us has experienced the full ranking process meaning we understand the technical aspects of maps.
3: We're fairly popular within the community so it wouldn't be bizarre to see us commentate.
4: We have experienced live streaming before and can handle the pressure very well.
5: We're GOOD PLAYERS, we know what we're talking about when we discuss how maps play and which areas are difficult.
6: We have diverse playing styles and expertise within the game and hence can (as a group) relate to neigh all of the players in some way.
7: We will most likely all be participating in the OWC and hence can convey the feelings of the players via our own experiences.
8: We've all been around for a long time and have knowledge of the games history.

I'm pretty sure they have delay on their part too, since they'd have to watch the person that is streaming with the clientsellyme wrote:
The primary thing I want to see in commentary is some kind of semblance of speed in calling - last year I regularly heard things like "[player] seems to be holding a full combo" a good 15-20 seconds after they've broken. Beyond that I don't actually care a whole heap. Azer and jesse definitely seem like good commentator choices though.

I hate how the commentators sometimes go quiet in the middle of the song playing; it really cools down the hype and makes it less interesting to watch. Also when they discuss something completely unrelated to osu such as pepsi and popcorn, though like other game matches that have the same problem, it usually is due to lack of ingame knowledge by the commentator that they have nothing interesting to contribute to the stream.
Hopefully this year we'll get a more professional performance from the commentators, and commentators that have a bit more knowledge on what is happening.
