I've been playing LoL occasionally since season 1, maining support. But support becomes boring and the most annoying thing solo queues are that every lane is much worser than you. But playing as support, you can make plays, people don't realize that since support is underrated. Let me give you a example, I was playing thresh and their botlane destroyed us ( it was still meta where jinx and annie was overly strong since the burst damage lvl 6) their jinx was like 16-2 when heading to late-game ( we stayed in game because our caitlyn and mid had farm alot.) And they got baron and they were retreating, then i made a insane flash hook to their jinx and we bursted her down and won the teamfight what resulted from that. DONT UNDERSTIMATE THE POWER OF SUPPORT!

Question: How do you know when to make a trade/engage in lane?
Up to this point, I've been kinda guessing and for the most part, lose trades, even if I engage after my lane opponent used up a skill for farming.
I know things like watch the amount of minions, the level of your lane opponent, look at the items between you and your opponent, and obviously don't get ganked into a 1v2. I'm usually in the top lane, if that changes anything.
It's been a large tendency that I'm never ahead by much after laning phase and as such, my avg K:D is always reasonably low (and my avg assists are pretty high).

Each ranked game you win earns you League Points while each lost one decreases your current LP. The exact amount of lost or earned League Points per game depends on your hidden Match Making Rating. If you have higher MMR than a set amount for your division you gain more LP per won game and lose less LP per lost game, if your MMR is lower you gain less and lose more LP per game.

Feral flare has a positive impact on games this I'm sure; leaving the Jungle with 4k Gold because who needs ganks is the best shit ever.
You should still gank your lanes because jungle farm is piss poor in terms of gold even with the jungle item passives. Just a good habit to learn.
Also the only way to play Warwick right now is 100% on hit glass cannon because his ulti is bugged (has been for a couple patches). All 5 ticks of ulti damage applies regardless of him being cc'd out of it or even dying in the middle of it. Basically you pop W before a fight starts ulti a squishy one shot them and while their team is wasting their time trying to peel they get rekt by the rest of your team. Still worth it even if you die as long as their carry dies with you.

I am a game designer (not for Riot) so I know how things work for the most part. Of course it's different with every company, but Riot seems to ignore a lot of the baselines for things and they are starting to suffer because of it. Very unorganized with little communication is a more major problem than ranked play. The Rioter that played a large role in the Leblanc rework isn't even on the design team. He is a Q&A analyst LOL.
There really is no true defining correlation between ranked and the impact on design choices but it really doesn't help their case when you see 3-4 of the head designers in low silver with like 200+ games.

I've been playing league longer than Morello has and he has slightly more games than I do if you count normals + ranked. I'm a pretty casual player I play maybe 5-10 games a week if my work schedule allows it (or if I want to play Smite instead). Yes they do play it when they aren't working. I have several rioters on my friends list and I play with them sometimes.
As someone who has participated in a few playtest (Warwick stuff) It's really not much different than basically picking a newly released champion in ranked. That's from my experience. Major mechanic changes like season changes would obviously be different.
