How do I change the selected song font and star.png color from black? I've tried fiddling with "SongSelectActiveText:" as the wiki suggested but nothing happened at all.

I really dislike this change that was made a little while ago, specially the part about changing the stars colors too.

You have to put it under the [Colours] section, not somewhere else.

volume-bar can't be skinned. volume-bg-effect is shown when you rotate the mouse wheel or change music with the arrow keys while holding the Alt-key.

Sadly they only work on the default sliderball. You can apply the sliderb-nd and sliderb-spec to the default ball but you can't apply them when you have a custom sliderball for now.

In Custom Taiko Characters says that is: 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-5-6-5-4-3-2-1-0
but that was 5 years ago, and i think that now is: 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-4-3-2-1-0 or 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-3-2-1-0

Can anyone confirm?

that only applies to the sounds, not the images.

Try naming selected pictures "comboburst-0", "comboburst-1", "comboburst-2" etc. without ComboBurstRandom in skin.ini.

Does anyone have a template that contains multi-skipped@2x.png and multi-skipped.png? None of the templates I can find have this element included and according to this thread it should be skinable I would just like to have a base resolution and original image to work with.

Judging from my own experiments I can assure that if you set it to 160 that won't happen if you scaled them right (or your width of the images, 999 was just an example).

Hello, I got a question. Is it possible to change the opacity of the play-skip button?

I edited it with Gimp. Opacity is at 100 with Transparency background but Osu! makes it barely visible.

Hmm, comboburst sounds are not playing, not sure about the reasons, do I need to turn on comboburst animations now or something? They used to play normally.

Hey guys, this is the first time I ever posted anything in osu!forum so please forgive me if there is something wrong with my post, thank you.
I tried some skinning myself (just mixing some skins) and I found one skin with combobursts. As I heard the voice in the combobursts, I immidiately want to apply them in my skin. So I just copy and paste (so sorry if that was rude, but I do not claim them as mine, it was this skin t/224240 )
But I cannot get them all to work when I play. I can only hear the combobreak sound.
It wasn't a big disappoint to me until today, when I record a replay I played, I can hear them VERY nice. And it just pisses me off

Can any1 help me please?

There's really no reason for them not to work :/ They all work on both my desktop and laptop, are you starting to name them on "comboburst-0"? They should work. Also they're not mine, I took it from another skin after seeing it on several others as well.

Hey #skinninsupport, I have a custom skin for a mapset. What happens to players using HD skins if my beatmap skin only has SD stuff? Will the player see them or...?

Also I heard some skin.ini commands can be added for the beatmap skins too. How and which ones?

I think they'll use the SD version if HD isn't available.

All works fine :) don't know if you changed the hitcircles or not but they're pretty similar to the standard ones, also, that cursor ._.

As long as the SD versions are there, the skin will work, it only picks up HD versions if the computer allows it and the elements are actually there.

Ok I have kind of a weird question. Is there an easy way to convert HD elements of a skin into SD versions? Is the SD size exactly 50% size of the HD element? Because I'm doing my skin HD and I really don't want to go changing element sizes one by one ;-;

Hey, I have a question.

When playing the beatmap "Within Temptation - The Unforgiving," the slider border color is set to black (using the map's skin), but I would like it to be white. I didn't see an .ini file or something inside the song's skin, so I am wondering, what is making the border color black (my skin's is set to white).

(Happens on other beatmaps with their own skins also, that's just a random example)

If you're playing widescreen then you should make HD versions of the numbers (twice the size), because you're using lower quality numbers for a higher resolution. It's always easier to make the HD version first (add "@2x" at the end) and then resize it 50% smaller for PC's with lower resolutions. Because if you do the SD version first you will lose quality making the HD version.

He didn't clean them enough. When checking them on a black backgroundlayer they have lots of undeleted semi-transparent pixels. To the percent: All numbers are scaled by a bit. They never appear in their given resolution. Scaling stretches them a bit and makes one of the "o" look like a square.

Also HD resolution usage has nothing to do with widescreen usage. As long as the game resolution is at least 800 pixels in heigth and 1000 pixels in width the "@2x"-elements are used. The aspect ratio has nothing to do with it.

Of course I added "MenuGlow: 189,27,27" to [Colours] in my skin.ini, and I also have a menu-background.png in my skin's folder.

I managed to enable my menu-background and menu-glow by drag&dropping the image file into Osu. But there's still one problem: My menu-snow won't work either... It just uses the default one.

What's wrong with my skin? If I wanted to send it to someone else, it would be embarrassing to say "The background won't work unless you drag&drop it into your window - oh and the menu-snow doesn't work at all"...

I can't even get one file to work, but would it be possible to use multiple menu-snow.png files?

Transparency has nothing to do with it. Of course they can be 1x1 transparent pixel, but they won't change the size of the scorebar-colour or bg. They just influence the start position of scorebar-colour.

I've been fooling around with a personal skin (Creating images, sounds and such just for fun) But I ran into the problem of Sliderpoint10 and Sliderpoint30\s showing up, and I don't know how I got them on nor how to get them off. I also have no idea how to change the overall colour of objects (I want to make my hit circles and such much darker as I have a hard time with light colours). I can see where it sais it on the tutorial but how to edit the skins (Aside from pasting images and sounds into it) escapes me. Is there a program that can be used to edit skins and such?

One: Go to your skin folder and open skin.ini. It should mark Version:<number>. Replace the number by 2.2 (not sure if 2.3 is here).
Two: The file name should be hit-300g.png, hit-300k.png, hit-100k.png. You can replace those file by the image file.

Try making a particle300g.png (just guessing, I don't know if it exists).

Ahh. I just created the folder and started throwing crap into it. I hadn't had a skin.ini folder created. This makes everything MUCH less confusing. Thanks :3

Use scorebar-ki, scorebar-kidanger, and scorebar-kidanger2 instead of a scorebar-marker.

Make sure you have enabled "ignore all beatmap skins" in the options and if you want to play with the songs skin untick "ignore beatmap skin" during the short period bfore the song starts playing. Seems like the only way to play with custom slidertracks and borders while using beatmap skins atm.

Also beatmaps never have ini.files. They define all color settings in the osu-files for the difficulties in the [Colours] section in the same way as on the skin.ini-file (combocolours and slidercolours).

The image size itself is big enough to cover that title. Try to resize and resize until you get it right. (I'm telling that you can use the Trial And Error method. Although this takes time, the results will be better)

I'll give a headstart if you really need it: Keep its ratio and set your width to 34

Question, im trying to make a custom scorebar, but i want font to be a way, but simply i cant.

Any advice or how do i look for this type of font.

The way I think you could do it is find a font that is similar try this site maybe: http://www.fontspace.com
Then put down the font at the size you want in in background color of whichever object you are putting the text over.
Next outline the text in the neon color of your choice.

Could give you specifics for GIMP but I am guessing that exactly how you do this changes a bit from program to program.
