majority lynch is really rare here and I can only think of a few games that had it. afaik it's never happened before

Activity is not an issue there, but the TeamLiquid site's mafia community uses a hybrid lynch mechanic. Achieve majority before deadline and the game day ends with a majority lynch. If it doesn't, then the player with the most votes at the end of the day is lynched.
