Greetings everybody, official notice incoming.
After sorting out the issue with Canada vs Spain with the game administration, we decided to give Canada the chance to rematch this game. Please keep in mind that this is an exceptional decision since one player of the Canadian team didn't attend to the match in time because he mixed up the time zones (I hate time zones, seriously).
So then, Canada is given the chance to rearrange a rematch against Spain, which must happen until Tuesday, 18th Feb 2014 23:59:59 UTC. Yet, the Spanish team must agree that they want to rematch it.
It might also be that we can not cover this rematch with a stream, due to organizational limitations, and if we cover it, we can not announce it largely before.
Anyways, for the potential opponent, Japan, we will only schedule one date for both encounters. This means that Japan does not have to pay attention to the winner of the rematch, since the scheduled time will stay the same, regardless of who wins that match.
Please don't that for granted. This has been decided to bring optimal results in measuring the this year's Taiko World Cup champion by skill and not by mistakes resulting out of time zone confusion.
If the rematch is not able to happen before the said deadline, the previous decision will stay and Canada still loses by default against Spain.
I hope this compromises pleases everyone, the participants, the administration and the audience. Let's keep the world cup running. Sorry for the inconveniences.
Schedules and mappool will be released by tonight. And oh yes, I wanted to post a bracket. The wiki hates everyone right now, so here - have a sexy bracket (still RO16 but whatever)
