What is this?

This is a gigantic Touhou megamix collab which is a total of 40 minutes long. The cool idea is that people from all around Skandinavien come together and create a mega map which would break a new record in maximum combo obtainable in osu! (approved map-wise). The idea was brought up by CXu after we had some discussions about the former project which didn't get anywhere and ultimately died. That's why this is "(Take 2)".

When it started out, I was a bit unsure whether we would get anywhere or not, but it turns out a lot of people are pretty hyped up for this, and we "already" have 10 minutes drain time out of the entire 40 minute song, and progress is actually being made, believe it or not.

Is this just to break a new maximum combo in osu! hurrdurr?

Not really no. You could probably call it some kind of extra prize besides getting this approved, but it's not why we started this project at all. The main reason is mostly just to have fun and achieve something crazy. Getting a 40 minutes long song approved with maps from many different kinds of people is much harder than it sounds and requires a lot of effort and coordination. But even so, it's super cool to see so many people working together towards the same goal, especially when they're all from Skandinavien. If we could pull this off, imagine how proud our ancestors would be. The unity between our countries is legendary.

Cool, I want to map a part, so how do I join?

Post in the thread with the song you pick if you think you are a decent enough of a mapper. Obviously, as mentioned already, you have to be a part of Skandinavien. Unless you're a viking, you're not getting in here. You can see just below what songs there are, what they're called, what BPM they are, if they have been picked already and by who, and if the mapper who has picked the song is done with the part or not. You are allowed to change part later on if you want, and you can take someone else's part if they agree to give up on it.

And that's pretty much it, I guess. I'll edit in more things here if I forgot something or if needed.

- 14 songs
- Everyone picks their own song and then maps it
- Each song is 3-4 minutes each
- You should at least be decent at mapping if you consider to join
- You need to be a Scandinavian
- You're only allowed to place inherited lines (Green ones)
- You cannot change any of the difficulty settings
- This will probably be the biggest combo map in osu! if it were to get approved (Should be around 14000 combo in total)

Not sure. 12 maybe? Many of them are pretty equal in length.

I think it's safe to fix the settings and start mapping now. If people won't sign up by the time we're done with our parts we can just pick new ones.

Alright, settings updated. Tried to upload the beatmap today, but the BSS seems to not work. It's acting very weirdly for me. Will try again tomorrow.

Go ahead!! I don't think more people will pop up, so we need as many as we can get who wants to map 2 or more songs.

And not sure if I would call your diff too hard though. Although, it's so hard to judge since you will have played for 40min straight up until that point. xD I think I'd need the opinion from more people than just myself.

Shooooore, very late response, but hi. If you get some map together throw it at me!

This project is going very slowly atm though, and I'd like it to pick up some pace. Right now it'll be done in like 3 years or something, which doesn't sound really ideal at all. Not sure what I can do though, except just throwing a few words and hoping something happens. But I'll see what I can do.

Also there seems to be a BMS error with submitting this huge map. It doesn't work unless I clear the submission cache (I think??). Kind of annoying considering how big this map is and how long it takes to upload, but even if it doesn't work to upload atm, all of you are still able to continue map and send everything to me. (Please do)

Probably don't have to worry about hitsounding as of right now. We don't have any custom hitsounds yet.
