Well the hidden mmr would tell where you are in the pick order, and this would make sense if, say, she was always first and I was last (would mean that our mmrs are REALLY far apart, right?). But we're back to back picks, always 4 and 5 (with me always being 5).
I feel like I'm still missing something because it's not completely making sense... =s

Unless both of us have really low mmr for our tier / division? I dunno.

If you duoqueue you get matched with/vs slightly stronger other players to balance the advance you have from duoqueueing. This explains why you have lower mmr than all the other players and are placed as pick 4/5 if you both have equal mmr.

Am I the only one here who thinks nocturne should get reworked?
I mean seriously. Back during season 1, noc was one of my favorites. Now that so much has changed and these new champs offer so much, nocturne just seems pretty useless. Ganking power is okay but not great, ult would have been great but I feel that the cooldown is too long and if you don't have your ult up you basicaly have to walk right into the middle of the enemy team without any means of escape.

Seriously, riot needs to do something about him. I miss the days where players were acually afraid of a good noc player.

No, Nocturne isn't a bad champion. During earlygame the ult is mostly for ganking through wards and cutting off enemy vision rather than gapclosing, while lategame it turns into "dive-onto-adc-for-free". The jungle changes ruined him and the warmogs/atmas/frozen mallet nerf also ruined him.

He's still very scary to play against if he snowballs really really hard and gets good items because there's no gold in the jungle anymore.

The great thing about Season 1 Nocturne was that you could just farm jungle and maybe gank or countergank when ult was up, still get lots of gold/items, get tanky AND deal a ton of damage. Now there's no jungle gold or atmogs so you're forced to build all tank items and no damage items so you're basically Vi or J4 with worse utility and worse gapclosing.

Think about how overpowered he would be if his ult's CD was like 60-90 seconds or something. Warding lanes would basically be useless and he would be huge every game. I don't think Nocturne needs reworked as much as jungle gold needs increasing and the "jungle items" being removed from the game.

Nocturne isn't in that bad of a spot right now he is still decent just not broken like he was in season 1 or even season 2. Season 3 wasn't that great for him, but at the same time it wasn't that great for a lot of junglers that relied on ults in their ganks. Season 4 will be great for junglers that can offset farming and ganking which is what Nocturne does best.

If he ever does receive a rework it won't be because his kit is bad it will most likely be because of the frustrating mechanics in his kit (his ult for the most part). Nocturnes ult will be severely changed, but the rest of his kit will be slightly buffed to compensate. Even then this will not happen for a really really really long time if ever since over a dozen champions are in dire need of a rework than he is. Reworks are not always done because a champion is bad or even too good. You gotta take in mind how these champions interact with players and what counterplay is involved.

Morello has pretty much posted the list of champions that are getting reworked in season 4 and every single one of them need it because of the frustrating anit-fun mechanics in their kits.

I would say Taric, Thresh and Annie are the top picks right now. Sona is still pretty strong and safe too

Wondering, do you really need the chalice? Seems like a gold waste since the mana should be manageable.

Really depends on the matchup bottom lane and it was mostly built for crucible. My ADC in all those games was a Jinx so she needed all the peel possible. If the enemy team consist of a ton of CC I will rush chalice for crucible as a support Warwick because it heavily benefits both me and the ADC.

Chalice is never a bad item on Warwick because he has the second lowest base mana pool in the game and also has one of the highest mana cost on his abilities. At level 6 a full Q, R Q combo will put you oom. You need some form of mana or mana regen if you want to harass constantly in lane.

Also just to point out my last game in that image we were against a solo Teemo bot lane so there really was no need to get chalice in lane and their team had no CC other than Heimerdinger so a wits end rush was fine. I bought tear as a troll item because the game became a 4v5 at around the 15 minute mark when I killed their master yi at his red buff. Rage quit lol

Don't get tear on Warwick it's bad and he can't stack it reliably lol.

I hate her ult so much because it has little to no counter play other than insta killing her possible target or CC and killing kayle in a team fight. Immunity over time abilities really have no place in this game other than sucking the fun out of that match. Hence why poppy, olaf and now kayle have been nerfed so many times or intentionally kept weak (Olaf is probably really strong atm though ).

Not liking S4 so far... I just can't get used to it, specially supporting. For some reason my Nami doesn't feel as effective as before.
I used to have a 20-2 Nami record in ranked (and I don't even main support), and now it's like 20-5 and im scared to go on..
I don't have a picture of the 20-2 but I have one I took some weeks before that:

I don't really feel like Nami was changed all that much. Her passive now scales of AP, so the speed increase isn't flat anymore.
She's the only support I've been using.
It might be the items change or the fact that melee supports like Alistar and Leona can use Targons and ranged ones can't. As an example anyway.

I like that oracles is out now. You have to be smarter with your pink wards and sweeping lens. If you pick up oracles, you run through the jungle and kill every ward. Not nearly as stretigic imo.

Throws are suppose to be less common I believe. Snowballing's a little harder since dead inhibitors no longer buff minions in other lanes. So I find that a touch strange.

My thoughts anyway. I don't discount what you're saying since I'm Bronze 1 and my worst role is support.

At this point I'm welcoming any sort of change. Season 3 was the worst season out of the previous 2 by far. Almost all of season 3 was even more stagnant and boring to play than the end of season 2 which was pretty bad. Change is good!

I don't think Nami is weaker, what I think is that other supports outclass her at the moment (Fid, Annie, Taric) and it's much harder for me to be succesful with her. Maybe it was just some bad games, but it's my general thoughts. Annie is the best by far...

In the current state of the Korean meta where mobility is pretty much everything it makes some champions obsolete while bringing in new champions such as Karma. Positioning and vision control have become increasingly more important as it is easy to be caught out of the position and die to roaming high mobility champions. Due to how tanky champions like Olaf, Rengar, and Mundo can get, we will probably start to see more Vayne play even after her nerfs. Along with Vayne we might see Blade of the Ruined King being built more often on other Marksmen and champions with long ranged initiation like Leona.

I agree. But I think the opposite should be true as well. If you have a strong earlygame, you shouldn't have a strong lategame. All these new ad carries are really badly designed by Riot imo. Jinx, Lucian and the new Sivir are way too strong early and midgame and still have a strong lategame

In terms of raw damage/AoE, sure. But I think Vayne still has the strongest all-around lategame because of high single target damage, mobility and self-peel.

In my opinion the ADCs with the hardest skill caps are the ones who don't have mobility, so I disagree with Vayne having a high skillcap (you can basically spam Qs and Condemns and be relatively safe), whereas the likes of Ashe and Kog'Maw require WAAAAAY smarter positioning.

Still pissed what they did to Leblanc, because I think she was fine where she was the big problem was that other assassins just did her job WAAAAAY better in the late game and that was fine. She is a very strong early game champion with some severe limitations late game and that was the trade off for picking her.

Another issue is riot is making champions that are good at all stages of the game (Elise for example) so they have no trade off and it severely powercreeps specific champs that would fill a certain role of being early/lategame specific. Having champions that are good at all stages of the game is okay essentially, but they shouldn't be as strong as a champion that is designed to shine at a specific time. Keep in mind that this might actual not be an issue in their view. I think Riot is managing champions really carefully to make sure new ones reach the competitive scene continiously and keep it interesting and refreshing, while nerfing too often picked champs to make them played way less.

Some champs/kits have actual flaws indeed, but I think a big balancing thing is that Riot wants to rotate OP champs

Well who needs smite to jungle anyways. Counterjungling is much more fun with ignite.

I don't think this is the case at all since top, jungle and support (kinda) almost all of season 3 was pretty much the same 3 (give or take 3 more different picks) champions being spammed every game. If your true goal is to have variety then this is definitely not the direction you should go.

In a perfect world you would want all your characters to be competitively viable if it is your goal to make this game an esport in which Riot does. Some will be weaker yes, but there should still be a reason to pick those specific champions through niches if possible. This is not the case anymore because newer stuff just does what older stuff does but better. Take Warwick for example he has essentially been remade about 4 times through Skarner, Vi, and Zac and even Aatrox to an extent. Not saying they are carbon copies, but a lot of elements are similar. There is absolutely 100% no reason to ever pick Warwick competitively over Vi or even Zac because they do everything he does but better (something would have to get severely gutted and I mean a giant nerf) it's called powercreep and it's starting to get ridiculous in this game. Then there is the mobility creep issue in which case riot does little to resolve this. How do players deal with this? By playing stuff that is just as mobile as their opponent because there is no trade off for being super mobile when you compare them to less mobile champions.

I'm not saying older stuff is obsolete because that's obviously not true, but you can't deny a lot of the older stuff has been powercreeped to hell and back. Fortunately Riot see's this, hence them slowing down new champion release in season 4 a lot to address this issue they let sit for so long.

Except that every single new champion that they release is OP as fuck and makes old champs obsolete. Only a handful of old champions are competitively played anymore, because all the new releases are ridiculously broken

People seem to care who you use, without seeing the skill of the player first. It's a little ridiculous.
I mean, I'm not great, but I have more wins than losses with a handful of champions.

I actually asked a friend of mine a while ago and he said most of who I use on a regular basis never sees competitive pro play. Those would be Gangplank, Galio, Garen, Maokai and Kayle, as well as a few others.
Gangplank, in particular, the community seems to REALLY hate, but he's far and away my favourite champion. =/
Then there's Galio who completely walls off APCs. What's not to like?

I'll explain why all of those are bad.

Gangplank - high mana cost of skills, no hard cc, no mobility, crappy RNG ult. Almost every top laner is better than him.
Galio - needs flash to get good ults, no mobility. He's very situational in mid lane and gets shit on in top lane.
Garen - no cc, can potentially get kited. There are other top laners that do just as much damage as him. Why play Garen when you can play Renekton Rengar or Riven.
Maokai - high cooldowns, not a lategame threat because he has no damage. Why play Maokai when you can play Vi or J4.
Kayle - not a bad champion, but situational just like Galio. Needs to deal damage over time so needs a very specific team comp.

Yeah but if you do well - and I'm not saying I am amazing with all five - why does it matter?
Pro players =/= who the community needs to use. If that were the case, why not just take them out of the game?

Gangplank can farm at a distance and has high natural movement speed.
Galio, like I said, walls off APCs. I don't use him top lane and I don't use him against AD champions, since I only play draft pick.
I love Garen's kit - a movement speed buff (for escape), defensive ability (Courage) and an ultimate that can burst without missing. Renekton doesn't fit my playing style AT ALL because I'm an incredibly passive player. He's more for aggressive players. Or so I've been told. Rengar has no escape unless you wanna pop his ultimate and Riven's too squishy for my purposes of a bruiser/tank.
Maokai just works well for me. He reduces damage teammates get, he can easily jump to an enemy without missing, and he's beefy. Vi and Jarvan IV are AD... I use Xin Zhao for AD jungling (I'm just gonna guess now that he's not used either).
Kayle's my mid because I dispise mages and she's all I really have for AP damage vs an AD.

Every champion that is picked nowadays has mobility in his/her kit.

Mid:
Ahri, Kassadin, Fizz, Gragas, Orianna, Zed, Kha'zix, Ziggs etc.

Marksmen:
Ezreal, Corki, Lucian, Sivir, Vayne (Graves, but no need to take him over others)
