I'll read the thread in more detail later.
They don't like passive game play - the fact that something is there and gives free stuff. The Bulkwark was to deal with AoE heavy teams but in the end, it's just a good item (which I recall being nerfed once and I could see again if they're that hard against it)... apparently.
They like temporary AoE buffs though (ex: Jarvan's flag) because it involves more skill though?

I honestly don't like their reasoning why they like temporary stuff and not auras (at least, that's what I'm getting from the thread).... but hey, that's just me.

Bulwark is being removed next patch. Aegis is getting nerfed along with locket.

Honestly I want burst mages like Annie and Brand to come back into the competitive scene. This means carries and melee assassins would actually have to position extremely well or be one-shotted, but nope according to riot that's not fun to play against.

The funny thing is, they dont care about you. The "AP Nuke" is kinda gone. They replayed it by all of the AD Burst and Offtanks.

It's not always like this, but most of the games is going to be full AD or offtank-mania.

God, Diana is so strong. I don't really like to play assasins because they are so squishy, but Diana isn't squishy like other ones.

It's her main stats and her shield. She is one of the champions who can snowball so hardc0re and she got nerfed/buffed/buffed/nerfed.
Her Ultimate is rly strong, the cooldown reduction is perfect to nuke the enemy "whatever"-carry. And it's awesome because it's a gapecloser, you can use it twice during a short time or you can use it every 6 Seconds (without CR).

What? With that logic you can play anything and "let others carry you". That's like saying every single support, tank, and utility mage main that is diamond was carried there. It's not like some of these champions have game changing abilities or anything. =\

You don't have to be a carry to carry games.

I ban blitz because I know my bottom lane can't handle it, and I don't want to play against it. Only takes one decent grab to turn the whole game around.

yeah but if you ward properly, it's blatantly obvious when a blitz is going for a grab and you can counterplay it. plus if someone picks blitz, go support zyra, block every grab with plants, and poke him down. he can't do anything in lane against you.

plus, many people are terrible with him and will be useless all game anyways.

That would require me to play bottom lane and I'm a top lane and jungle main. Problem is you are taking that risk of trusting people in solo queue and from my experience you can't trust anyone with anything. Better off removing the risk by banning it.

Except that I can because Blitz is one of the few champions I don't trust on either side so it doesn't really matter. I don't want to play against it so I ban it and I don't trust anyone ever to play it properly or have a brain to lane against one.

Zilean is a niche pick for the most part. You are saying Zilean cannot carry games or rather the people who pick him are carried. So much wrong in that statement.

You don't need to be doing the damages to carry a game. Simply providing the utility to the team can be enough to win games. Look at Orianna, Lulu, Malphite, Maokai and Janna.

Zilean's ult is better than a GA, the amount of health your target revives with scales with AP so you can basically revive someone will full health. You can also get off two ults in a teamfight if you liberally use your W.

Just because you know the guy outside of these forums and you're familiar with him doesn't mean we all are. Simply saying what he said was enough to confuse people. Someone else was confused by it too.

You didn't say he sucked but someone else did. That last line wasn't directed towards you at all.

I played a few ranked games today.

2 times I play support, every lane feeds, we lose.

1 time I play diano easy-mode free win, and I win.

Maybe I just need to only play Diana.

Play support Diana. You can seriously win with playing any support in solo queue as long as you snowball your lane.

I've played support Kha'zix, support Jayce, support Caitlyn and support Jarvan and still won games.

I've won a ranked as soraka jungle. Doesn't mean people are happy that i picked it, same goes with those other picks you listed, though jarvan might be decent as support if the enemies don't have jumps/dashes.

Sure they may rage at you in champ select but if you actually do well, they'll stop complaining.There's a difference between trolling and playing unconventionally but still playing to win.

High elo solo queue players do the same thing. Only Rengar plays support Rengar and carries games, and SpamHappy aka Zekent plays support Poppy.

It doesn't necessarily work backwards. Not the same concept.

If you don't prioritize excessive ward coverage, alternatively sustain or generally slightly stronger/more CC you can always use that extra position to get some more dps and a different kind of utility. Just about anyone clearly "works" as a "support", but you would generally have to favor champs with either good base damage or good utility. Orianna and zyra have CC and utility, elise has health % damage, your jungler can get aegis and everyone should at least buy a few wards once in a while. Of course you can build damage increasing items on a support as well, but it should be obvious why say elise support, given nami doesn't land an amazing bubble or doesn't have her ult up, can be far more useful in a teamfight.

In uncoordinated play such as low level yoloqueue you'd often benefit more from significantly more damage than a squishy ward-bot. And if you're bad at the general support champions and are forced to support anyways I'd rather have you play a champion you're good with despite it not being what people would generally pick. Chances are you'll do better with that pick than if you'd play first time blitz and get 500 fieldgoals in a twenty minute game.

People don't like unconventional picks because just like this community, everyone are xenophobes. Whenever you try something outside of the meta people either assume that you suck and don't know jack or that you've seen it on some stream and expect the outcome to be the same. Just go ahead and pick whatever you do well with. It's a game, froggen wont come knocking on your door ready to beat you up just because you played jungle anivia.

I won another ranked with Diana.

Is this character just hard to play against? Me and my friend duo queued as Akali mid and Diana jungle and it was like...we'd just jump on people and they'd instantly die. Seems pretty stupidly over powered against crappy bronze kids.

Zac support also seems fairly viable in solo queue. Especially if you get something like amumu for your jungler. Infinite gap-closers.

Anyways, I do usually play support and my carry always seems to pick the wrong things, unfortunately. (MF vs. Vayne? No please. The guy had Cait too.)

Both diana and akali are assasins, of course you'll rack up kills with both, and with a big gold advantage victory often comes as well.

Then one day comes a team clever enough to get this thing called MR/CC and focus you down. I like diana as well and got a somewhat of a positive win/loss ratio with her, but both are very vulnerable to cc and reliant on the enemy team either being pants on head retarded or only have damage from one hypercarry. Your job is pretty much to either pick somebody off or jump through the frontline and kill a high priority target, where as the former is most commonly only applicable when playing against knobheads. You got no innate escape but your flash (or ulti to a minion if you're lucky enough to have one nearby), play more than two games and you'll start noticing how she drops of severely against loads of bruisers or getting shut down.
