Hey guys, i got a Question.

I just bought me a Tablett (Bamboo Pen) [http://de.shop.wacom.eu/produkte/bamboo/bamboo-pen/bamboo-pen?c=68932].
Then after playing with it in Osu! for about ~3-4 Hours it already got alot of scratches at the most used places.

Now to my Question: Is this kinda like the Problem you encounter when using a Tablet for Osu or do i need another Pen for this? I already googled a bit about this problem but couldnt find anyone with the same problem..

I mean i kinda knew this would happen but not after this short period of time! Do i maybe need a soft pen for this or do i really need to play Osu! while "hovering" over the tablet? This feels kinda wierd so i dont think this should be the way to go..

TL:DR: Why do i already get scratches after a short period of time on my Tablet while playing Osu?

Well, this is strange. I am using my tablet for about 4 months and I don't have any scratches. I suggest you to learn hovering. You'll avoid getting more scratches on your tablet.

I started using tablet since March and it did get a lot of scratches. It is normal and I don't want to hover either. :)

Gee...how much pressure are you applying on the tablet?

I've had this tablet for nearly 3 months now and no scratches yet. I tap while i play but I drag sometimes too...

Yeah well i always kinda pressed down my pens pretty heavily while writing so well.. Dunno what i expected tbh. :D

Tried hovering today and i think i should get used to it relatively soon..ish.. But is there no other way? Maybe like a pen with a soft mine or something? Or maybe with a "ball-ish" mine or something? Dunno its just way more comfortable for me to just draw my way through osu then hovering the whole time.. and i´m a keyboard player so tapping isnt really an option..

Just asking if there is an option, i should be somewhat fine with hovering but still.. :/
Tried googling but nothing showed up that would help

Thanks for the Answers so far <3

I know that some users uses some kind of protectors like those that you put on ipads, and other tablet pcs, you cut it to the size of your wacom tablet and done!

I don't know how those screen protectors fare against the hard plastic nib of the tablet pen (when one applies that much pressure). If you're gonna try that please share the result with us, I'm very curious too.

One alternative I can think of in your case (which I have NOT tested) is to place a piece of baking paper on your tablet surface for protection, and use the eraser to navigate instead of the pointy tip. The baking paper is quite glossy so it should produce less friction (theoretically) than normal paper.

Just buy a Intuos4 (first model I could think of that has them available nearly everywhere) surface sheet, cut it, and tape it to your bamboo tablet. I draw daily and haven't got a single scratch on it and I've been using the same pen nib for 5 months. Works pretty well considering I used to use 1 nib per week.

A cheaper version of this is to just cut a side of a plastic folder and use that (those transparent ones you get for like $2).

Edit: I really wouldn't recommend wasting any money on those iPad etc. sheets that were suggested earlier when you can get one that's actually designed for tablets with nearly the same price.

Trying that baking paper doesn't hurt, but don't get your hopes up.

I think problem might lay in too much pressure as previous posters stated. Also I don't think scratches would affect anything. Wacom's tablets are very solid.

I've had a Wacom Bamboo for almost 3 years now and been using it on osu! for 2, and it's got absolutely no scratches. So I don't know what you're doing to cause that.
