It's easier to read with short names
I don't see how, as there are less distinguishable factorsFull Tablet wrote:

Only because there is no room to show it all.deadbeat wrote:
it's the exact same ingame so it shouldn't cause many issues
It's not really about single lines though. In order to see what I am talking about, you have to consider the grouping of many players and all of their mods side by side rather than a single line comparison.KiyoshiX101 wrote:
Personally I don't see anything wrong with the short names o.o They are easy to read and more comfortable when some people use 5/5 Mods or something.
I personally prefer to see HD,HR,FL,SD,DT than Hidden,HardRock,FlashLight,SuddenDeath,DoubleTime.
can be an issue. Not a big one, since many of new players still can guess the meaning.Makar wrote:
newer players don't really know what the abbreviations even mean

That's actually a very good idea. I'm quite neutral towards OP's request, but I support colors.darkmiz wrote:

It's HalfTime (Weirdly, it's not HT). FadeIn is FI.BRBP wrote:

Fade in, don't know what it's short name is.
Perfectly on topic!Mara wrote:

I can see a plausible reason: it might shave off several hundreds of bytes of transmitting data when one views the beatmap page. If there are like 100k views per day, peppy shaved off several tens of megabytes of data, reducing bandwidth.

Did it ever run into any problems displaying 5 mods? If not, I really don't feel the change was necessary.woc2006 wrote:

No, it's 864px whatever the length of the mod names. When full names were used, the other cells of the ranking table were automatically resized to be smaller.chaotic_iak wrote:
Currently the width is 860px, so the change hasn't succeeded. But much better than with full name mods, which I should expect to be around 900px.

Also @^: 5000 mods is like 20k px wide. Not that there is any combination of 5000 mods either.
Did you come here with a time machine from 1995?chaotic_iak wrote:
