I would love to, but it's a colocated box in a different country (sort of), so very difficult for me to change any partseirstryder wrote:

And as a 1u box with already overloaded cooling, fitting a GPU of any significant speed would be tricky

Awesome work! Although I'm not that experienced, I can manage a basic layout and create a custom "beautified" version of the page for you, if you want me to. (I'm studying informatic and computer engineering.)
On a side-note: would it be possible for you to limit the times a person can upload a replay per hour, instead of per day? it would be awesome, even if we had to wait for 2-3 or even 4 hours to be able to make a new upload. I think it might be easier for the server to manage and it would help with the number of people trying to upload at the same time, seeing as they would have to wait a significant amount of time before being able to make a new upload, giving other users the chance to make an upload of their own.

Not really fussed about the layout, it gets the job done for the most part. And you're right it might be worth rethinking the daily limit to something on an x hourly basis.AshuraNoYami wrote:

As for language, the bulk of it is written in PHP (not just the web frontend - the majority of the stuff happening in the live console is all PHP) along with some Autohotkey and bash scripts.
The actual fun bits are done by a modified build of GLC (dxtory/fraps linux equivalent), ffmpeg (video encoding), SoX (glc->wav audio processing), modified anytermd (for live status console) and imagemagick (live osu screenshot display and 'stuck at main menu' check)
As for the layout, while it is functional, I assume you would like the page to be atractive, as it would get your name out in the known, increasing chances for jobs related to coding and such. It would also be quite a simple matter to change it.Darkimmortal wrote:

The daily limit seems quite easy to implement as you probably already have a function checking for the number of times a user has uploaded replays on the current day.
PhP is something I've been thinking of putting my head to it but always end up doing against it as I currently am studying diverse coding languages and putting another one on the list might not be a good idea. Got no clue on what bash scripts might be and will try to learn a bit about what it is.

Apparently it's something I'm reasonably good at due to huge piles of code being issued at school...
osurecord doesn't seem to want to playback my replay. When it records, it's just stuck on the main menu and an error saying "You do not have this beatmap this replay is made for". The map is this one: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/55644.

Incidentally this is one of my favourite maps
I used it some time ago and I really have to admit it, it's just simply awesome. Definitely will continue to use in the future as well in a reasonable matter of course.

From what I've learned, any sync issues are as a result of one or more of:
- baked into the map (iirc almost everything is mapped to a constant 'offset' to the real audio of something like +16ms, though some differ)
- a genuine hardware lag issue that normally universal offset is available to compensate for
- the viewer's perception being altered as a result of too much play with universal offset in use
The actual videos should be "perfect" in terms of sync, even more so than video recorded with the likes of Fraps or Dxtory or whatever on Windows, as the audio is captured straight out of the game process before it has even reached the sound hardware/drivers, something that is only possible on linux.

A question about custom skins with the replays: Do you have to keep the .osr and .osk/.zip separate or does the .osr have to be within the .osk/.zip file?

.osk should not be inside a zip file, .zip should be of the skin folder without subfolders (as per osk format)Professor Prinny wrote:

@Kert: Does it do sliderbreaks during Replays on your game client as well? If so, it's a Replay Data bug, not osu!record's fault.

Stopped this video a little early. Not super big cause the song is pretty much over but just wanted to point it out.
Probably due to the huge spinner at the end. If there's a spinner or a slider at the end of the map, the displayed map length only goes up to the start of the final spinner or slider, so if it's long then the displayed time may be off by a few seconds or more, which might screw up the program.

Can you add an option to use custom taiko skin? I uploaded my Kyubey skin but the replay doesn't use it.

And of course make sure you aren't uploading a .osk inside a .zip, zip the files inside the skin folder.
I think if you enabled the option "Always use taiko skin", it will always use your taiko skin, not mine.

Brought this back online, seems there wasn't the ram constraint I thought there was. I've decreased the load average limit however

I think it borked or something .
I tried uploading a video, it got to the last part where it was uploading then it error'd out.
Then, I tried to upload it again and nope, some more juicy errors and it thinks my replays have problems which are untrue D:.

The most common cause for erroring right at the very end is that you haven't registered on youtube (and are just using a plain google account)Wasitrealy wrote:

Alternatively you might have been blocked from uploading due to copyright infractions or something similar

Tried uploading a replay of this map a good 2-3 times now. It doesn't go beyond the main menu. My map's version is the most recent, in fact I redownloaded it just to make sure of this - the replay plays just fine on my end.

Black square is due to osume.exe crashing and the crash window covering the game, and the way i'm taking screenshots not supporting capturing hidden areas

Character '&' does not translate correctly when uploading. I am pretty sure this has to do with the HTML code itself for the uploading, because in the site it's correctly translated.

I have added a feature that (should) update maps before recording, should reduce the number of instances where osu! complains there is no beatmap available and sits in the main menu

It wont let me upload a replay... in the live status display, it says:

You can save replays after each play by pressing F2 at the result screen. Then go to the folder above to find the .osr.

I love Osu!record but I have a minor complaint: It seems it does not care about my skin.ini, SliderBorder and SliderTrackOverride don't apply when using osu!record.

skin.ini is intentionally ignored, otherwise the process of changing skin becomes much more complicated-valar- wrote:

Took several days of fiddling and trial/error, mostly due to the the dodgy intel gpu drivers rather than wine itself
I get the error "Subprocess Terminated" when running this on Chrome(Windows 7)
