As a previous leader to this team and one of it main driving forces in its infancy I'm proud to see this change. I think down the line this was bound to happen and I only see at as more growth for the team when this team was created it was simply a user group nothing more nothing less, but for the last few months I think we can all agree they have been the driving force of this game in terms of beatmap moderation. That being said they are no more or less to us, we are equal so the team has ran it's course and the end result is a decent team dedicated to help and make osu! as fun and cool as possible! I'm glad I was able to be a part of it, and to all the team members that have now moved on to the BAT I say welcome not that you haven't been welcome from the start! To any of the MAT that are now BAT Don't stress the new role you have too much because the only thing that has changed is now you can approve of things! I can't wait to see the great things to come from you all. Of course if any of you have any questions I'm sure you have been informed. Thanks for being awesome and keep up the great work! The only thing that changes now is that people will stop writing XAT/*ATs when they mean the Team in general I guess lol

Not sure how to react to this. I'm pretty happy that such a measure was taken, but I really really wished the previous MATs did not get moderation powers. I just feel that some of them are definitely not fit or ready for the job. For personal reasons, but I still very much dislike it.

i've yet to hear one compelling argument/substantiation behind that claim - PM me with an appropriate argument for individual members where you think this is applicable and i will consider it

I like this. The gap between MAT/BAT was thinning over time, so this is the best thing to do for the team imo. I just hope they won't go nuts on the community moderation side and simply stick to the modding bit.

I have to agree with him in this point, some MATs aren't really well modders to even be MATs, and BAT is a bit too much for those people. Congratz for those who deserved it.
Just give them a chance and take a look at how they behave with their new powers before you start leaping to conclusions. Near future will show who is able to take enough responsibility, speculating right now is useless unless you can give actual examples.

MAT has existed so many years, but now MAT is end, as a result, everyone of MAT is promoted to BAT, I want to know whether they have adequate time and activity to be qualified for a BAT.

I hope that all these new BAT will show better discretion with what gets ranked than the previous lot.
This was a change I advocated for a long time ago, but with how the standard of ranked maps has changed since then I fear it may not improve things much. It is perhaps just shuffling the cards while really what we need is a complete new deck.

I honestly cant believe most of you have such a low regard for the former MAT team. Not just anyone could get into MAT, and just because you got more power doesn't mean you automatically abuse it. Ephemeral has also clearly stated that we should know what he thinks about people stepping out of line. Every action has a consequence. Have a little more faith.
I will say that everyone is a human being and human beings by nature make mistakes. That of-course doesn't excuse you if you abuse your power. I'm talking about mistakes, not being a idiot.
Each day is a learning experience. I personally will strive to improve my modding abilities to the utmost.. to become a better modder and mapper that I am currently. Even I know I have a lot to learn still. I'm no fool.
I don't think I'm the only one that thinks this way (or so I hope.)

Agreed! Us former MAT bumped into the BAT will do our best to improve upon our skills even further in a foremost extensive manner. We will try our best, so don't single any one of us out! We all are equal. Even though some may think that some of us are worse modders than others, we're all going to do our best to help. That's our duty, is it not? Please, think of the good that can come out of this. If something truly doesn't work out, there will be rules or such possibly appended and things changed to make things better.Teara wrote:
