To all praticipants from the TWC #3

Mappool 1-4 for the elimination stage is now out!

The following mappool is a fusion out of the most played beatmaps from the previous used mappools.
This means that some mapper may appear twice. Also, this time there is no Download Mirror for the mappool avaible, since all praticipants should normaly have these maps.

Note: This round only applies to countries with an A and B team which both of them have the access to the K.O.-Stages.
All countries without a second team are not effected by this round and got a week of break.

We apologize for the late annunciation, but this time it shouldn't be that urgent since the maps are all known.

@Loctav: I asked Garven to edit MMzz post since you told me that's okay. Did it on my own accord because of the agreement we had about this Mappool so there was no need to wait anymore.

Affected teams will be contacted today for creating the matchups.
Ascending-Chart will be finished after Round 1-4
mliencheng
uggh, the rules aren't marked clearly .

So the qualification mappool consists of the 2 most played maps of each round, is it ?
Topic Starter
Loctav
This isnt a rule. We just compiled a new pool.
Just check the mappool post to see the new mappool.

In Qualification Stage (1-4), you need to win 5 maps to win the match.

oh, it's updated now, no more problems >_>

Basically because there are 8 teams from 4 countries fighting for a spot in ro16 (Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and Canada), there are 4 extra slots to be filled by the 4 next most qualified teams based on SDR. Those teams moving on are Germany A (#17), Indonesia (#19), Spain (#20), and Macau (#21). The reason USA B is crossed out is because technically they are suppose to move on to ro16 because they rank #18, but since USA A already qualified and they did not, there is no reason for the teams to face each other since USA A will be representing USA in ro16.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the sudden

I just noticed that I have to go to collage tonight (and in fact I am late lol)
That I may not get back on time at TW A vs TW B

But if you can postpone the match half an hour later, which is 11:00pm GMT +8
I will try my best(and I can) get back home befote the match started

Of course it will be better if other streamer can cover it

Thanks

PS : I will also send pm to affected staff and team
Makar
@matthew I wasnt able to stream either, for the same reason (classes at that time). Seems like things were settled though.

Announcement, about match between Taiwan A vs Taiwan B teams.

Match has been postponed to 26 February 2013, 15:00 UTC, due to massive connection problems from both Taiwan teams. News says that ISP Centre got fire alarm, and 80% of people are not able to use their internet connections. Both teams couldn't gather people on time also, and when situation stabilized, it was quite too past, to play match. So we're hoping, that tomorrow, everything will go smoothly.

To all participants taking part on the TWC #3

Congratulations to the teams who've made it into the RO 16 Stage! From now on the Mappool RO 16 is available!

Overall the current one contains maps, which vary a lot. Variation in style, patterns and songs are bigger than in previous mappools, which tests the skill of the participants in a larger scale. The differences between the maps goes from the general known BPM, streams di-plets and so on - up to unusual or tricky patterns.

With that, we wish all participants good luck for this week's matches!

K, I'm gonna post this here and PM Loctav so no shenanigans happen.

I'm thinking that the best possible time to play for our teams is probably Saturday, 5:00AM UTC. That'd be Friday @ Midnight for myself, Friday @ 9:00PM for Kenny and Hipster, and Saturday @ 12:00AM for Indonesia.

I don't know if Kenny and Hipster can make that time yet, but it looks like our best option if we're actually going to have a match if Indonesia can't play at midnight on Sunday...

Are there any objections to this time? I'd like to know before we get this scheduled again.

May we change the match time to Sat / Sun 12:00 ~ 16:00 or Sun 00:00 (UTC+8) ?

Mon 00:00 is impossible for most of us, cause all of us are students, we have to go to school 07:00 am on every Mon ~ Fri, not able to stay up too late.

Thx :?
Makar
@^ I talked with US last night and they would be really happy with 12:00 (UTC+8) on either day. I will change the time now to 4 UTC Sunday.

this is 8/10PM Sat for US, 12PM Sun Taiwan

Xakyrie wrote:

Usually when someone means midnight, they mean on the day of, so no, I meant Friday at midnight, aka 12:00AM on Saturday.
Xakyrie
It's just to clear up confusion since in all actuality that's correct.
hipster3000
I'd like to move it to 9:30 (-8) if possible? Busy before that. And I'd like some time to practice.
Niko-nyan
i think at 2:00 PM at indonesia maybe can
because 12:00 idk i already at home or nope (need to go church for something)
karterfreak
I'll play at Saturday, 06:00 UTC at the latest. Its already pushing it for me putting a match that late. That's the finalized time that Canada can put down, so Indonesia, please try to work with it. 1:00PM on Saturday in your timezone shouldn't be completely unreasonable.
XK2238
I think our team has to surrender, since our schedule possibilites are nearing zero. I still have 13 UTC Sunday in mind, but that Ghassan/I have exams/try-outs on (more like "from") Monday... can't force it.

Have fun, teams.
Makar
After communicating with both teams, there will be no change. Indonesia failed to send in their times originally, and now they are unable to give times that Canada can also work with (was talking with them for a while last night), so the current scheduled time will be forced and no other changes will be made due to short notice.

This is what happens when you fail to send in times, I suppose.

abt the match time of ChinaB and Russia. The captain of ChinaB asked me to tell u some difficulties they have met.
11p.m is very late for chinese student especially for high school students, cuz they are mainly focusing on their study other than the game.
So it is really hard for ppl to have a match in such a time. yuan0312 told me they have informed u abt the match time and u guys told him
it is imposible to change it 4 hours after u guys determind. Actually, as i know, when u pm'd ChinaB Captain
was around 3a.m for him. Thats impossible for him to reply at that moment.
IMO, thats quite unfair to ChinaB. hope u guys can solve this as soon as possible.
Makar
Loctav will have to handle the Russia vs China B problem, since I don't know the times you gave and I don't know the discussions or reasoning behind why it is impossible, but it is probably because it doesn't match up with a time Russia gave, I am assuming.

Loctav wrote:

Greetings.

This week, it's my task to take over the scheduling.
Pay attention to following instructions:
  1. Hand in your preferred times. Please also add the time zones you are living in. Hand in your times in UTC+-0 format
  2. Also hand in a time where you can not gather 3 players at once. We actually don't care, if you can't get your "best setup". We only care that you will have 3 players of your roster. We also don't care, if you PREFER evenings. You can only exclude 5 hours of a day
  3. Please hand in times for Saturday (2. March) and Sunday (3. March). Saturday/Sunday ends, when they end on UTC. (So a Sunday time, which reaches into Monday in UTC time zone, is invalid).
  4. Please prepare to be scheduled possibly on both days. You can't exclude Saturday/Sunday. You have to have time to spare on both days.
  5. Please mark one day as preferred. Always consider, that even if you PREFERRED a day, that you might not be scheduled on this one.
  6. Your preferred times must be in a window of at least 3 hours. (e.g. 14-16 UTC) Anything tinier can't be considered.
  7. Knock-Out Stage forbids 2v2. You must have 3 players available, no matter what.
  8. Exceptions are excluded. If you can't play this weekend (with 3 players!), you lose by default.
Also, I repeat it once again: Even if you preferred a specific time, you might not get it.
We will try to not schedule you at night/morning. (defined as: midnight 0.00 till midday 12.00 of your timezone).

You have time to hand in your times till 27th Feb 2013, 16.00 UTC (sharp deadline)
If you fail to hand in your data in time, your team will be considered as "completely available on Saturday AND Sunday". Tho you will be scheduled freely on own behalf.

As sooner you hand in your times, as more we can guarantee to fulfill your wishes. First comes, first serves.

The schedule will be released after the sharp deadline ended. You will have 24 hours to object the scheduled time. You need a valid reason for that. When objecting, you can not move your day, only the hour (by preponing/postponing). Also please ask your opponent's captain before objecting your scheduled time (so he's aware that the time will be changed) - this fastens the whole process of possible rearrangements.

Regards,
Loctav.

and what abt next week
Topic Starter
Loctav
1.) No postponing
2.) China never handed in times.
3.) Russia DID hand in times, so I followed these
4.) You missed the deadline for objections

-> No change.
If you don't show up with 3 players at the match's time, Russia wins by default.
