I am not so sure about the quote, it could be out of context. I mean, ranking maps that don't fit the ranking criteria, that's kinda new to me.
Also this can easily be abused, don't like the ranking criteria? No problem, just let it grave and it will get ranked!

On the other hand, the only other option would be like a specific ranking group for such maps (like approval, but something else), which don't affect your ranked statistics but have their own scoreboard. That makes sense, but ranking those maps certainly does not.

Quality-wise and design-wise there is nothing in the maps that I've listed so far that is unrankable map-wise. The only thing that prevents those maps from getting ranked is the mappers' lack of connections with BATs and thus less of desire to actively pursuit ranking for them since they know it will be in vain. Testament to that is certain maps that only got ranked recently after fighting for rank for over half a year, while other maps are getting speedranked in 3 weeks or less simply because they're either for a very short song or by a person with BAT connections.

Yeah, no.
afaik peppy wasn't talking about maps that don't fit the ranking criteria, but those that don't get ranked due to the mapper being inactive or the lack of mods.

Having this said, obviously, none of the maps that lack easy diffs can be ranked.

It's a different case for, e.g. this map. This map is like perfect and could be approved right now, without anyone complaining.

Tom's (aka Pancake's) difficulty calculator. Probably the most accurate app when it comes to determining a map's difficulty.

Trying to do something about this; or rather, thinking up of a way to separate those maps into batches, because if I add maps that people find 1 by 1 it will be hard to notice additions over time, so gonna organize it in a way that will make it easy to scroll from "old" to "new" and download everything.

No difference in the maps themselves, I will just add maps as packs every once in a while instead of merging the lists... so that lets say for example you check this thread and dl all the maps, and then check it again some time later, you won't have to dig inside the list to few new maps that were added, you can simply see if there's new mapgroups from the last time you checked.

I'll try to put up mediafire uploads for those maps soon.

A decent portion of these maps are getting removed/deleted. :(
Hopefully some kind soul will help backup with mediafire links. :)

Aqo, use dropbox and put these maps in osz format. It'd be better and easier to manage than using mediafire (plus people can download the whole folder at once if they wanted to.

Also some of the links aren't working (the maps don't exist anymore)

There's a problem with exporting as osz which is, the map gets saved, and then it's no longer the original version that it was. This is a big problem with maps that are no longer uploaded and you can't update them.

Do you know how to get around that? If you do then I'll export OSZs for everything.

osz is just zip with the extension renamed, it doesn't do anything else. There is no issue if the folder id and the osu files aren't modified. I do this a lot so I don't see how you have this problem.

Edit:
Don't export, just pack them in ZIP and rename it, I think that's why it works for me and not you. You're exporting from the editor right?
