Maneuver
Need beta testing from all range of players who use tablet and those who don't use. From Top tablet player to semi-pro player to beginner, from hovering and from touching to tapping. Most beginner wouldn't even know tablet exist if din see other players use or someone tells them.

Battery or no battery, need to know if it is much more easier to control and move for long hours and more comfy than normal tablet.

Btw, What is the length of lift-off detection for the pen and tablet before it can't detect ? and What is the battery for ?
JappyBabes
Has any progress been made on this? Like custom text engraving/printing on the tablet, customizable lpi (if that's even possible), different pens etc?
yurunneram
I would SO want 1!!! I've been trying to get a cheap tablet instead of a mouse to play Osu! and for Digital art purposes
vipto
without any thought!
For mainly 3 reasons:

1. For the heck of it
2. For supporting Osu!
3. For having a not-derping tablet :3
Rygar_the_Thunder
Yes, I would. o3o
Far East
Seems interesting ;P So yes.
Mizuki Kirimiya
Since I only use my current Bamboo Splash for Osu!, if something were to happen to it, this would be a cheap replacement that gives the same performance. I would certainly do such a thing.
jyu
Depends on the quality :>
Saturnalize
Question : When does it release? Never heard any progress.
Ruirize
Man a progress update on this would be awesome.
Ameko
Sure :3
Maneuver
any conclusion reached ?
OEvil
Hell Yes
:D :D :D
ieb
Yes!! :)
Effy
Why not o3o

OzzyOzrock
how i never see'd thised
CPTW
Personally I would say no since I got my Bamboo unless it breaks then yes!

If I was still using mouse then sure since it's made for osu! it would make the game more immersive like other games with special controllers. Probably most appealing to newer players who want to go tablet. Hope all goes well if it's produced.
smoogipoo
As long as the quality is not at all (much?) less than Bamboo Pen, I'd definitely buy it.
theowest
It better the survive brutal use from osu!
Bamboo tablets can easily get scratchy and dull. Their pen isn't the best.

good idea =D
Primula_old
I already use an Intuos4 but if I didn't, I'd probably buy an Osu one if it included the ability to change screen mapping and also included spare tips (or more resilient tips like the ones with the soft bit on the end.. those never seem to wear down).
Antero
i would buy it if the pen's sensor was very very close to the pen's tip, unlike bamboo's pens where the sensor is like an inch up the pen
Wishy
Because of how my stupid country works I think unless this is under 25 dollars it's gonna be more expensive than a Wacom.

Just wanted to point out Argentina is fucking weird.
SESIN
yes please.
Not even banned
.
Mints
Seems like a very good offer, would buy it if I didn't alrdy have one ~.~
Bittersweet
I think vinyl stickers to use on the wacon tablets (and wherever the person wants) would be better than that.
VooXiD
I think i would :D
Moway
Definitely would buy.
Ruirize
I would buy the shizzle out of this.

Again.
LoGo
Better make indestructible keyboard/mouse D:

Latest word about the osu! tablet by peppy! Spoiler boxed because img is to big and cbf to resize. Also keep in mind peppy mentioned that this "may" happen. He also mentioned that he will update the thread when things are actually in motion. ( not his exact word)

Dororo
Idk but is it like as durable as the Wacom CTL-470?

Probably not for $25, but stranger things have happened.
Dororo
But can it be used for drawing? And what are those nibs are they talking about? Does the tip of the pen gradually wears out? I'm new to graphics tablets, I'm sorry

Yes, it would be able to be used for drawing.

D o r o r o wrote:

I mean in the sense that "They might surprise us with the durability".

Thank you! But does the nib shortens like a mechanical pencil lead?
Ruirize

D o r o r o wrote:

No - but if you use it roughly or put too much pressure on the nib, it will eventually wear down, as a rock does in a river.
Cleatis
This is amazing, I definitely would.
Yoshi_old

No but really the sound of it is awesome and i need a new graphic tablet ever since my Bamboo Connect
Xafilah
If it were just for the purpose of playing OSU, I would consider it, but if it could do other things such as draw then I would very likely buy one.

Of course it could be used for drawing too.
I'd probably buy one of these if my current tablet suddenly broke or something.
Natsu
Im buying one

What is a tablets power level?
DevianteBrent
Why not? for the sake of osu! gameplay on-the-go. Why NOT!>
ShadowzI_old
Well The Microsoft Surface Pro is out and it's amazingly a solid device...
Price wise I'm a bit bent.
40$-100$ (shipping) is 1/5 of the Surface Tablet so by a very very very narrow margin I'm thinking yes.
I would pay 500-600$ for the surface but if it's limited to osu after shipping I'm not planning to spend more than 80-100$
Reunilu
Heck yes. I'm mostly going for it because of the amazing price and I'm in need of one for drawing. :P
Xanaehla
Yes
ApolloFortyNine
Even though I already own a tablet I would buy one if it had anything related to osu on it. Its all I use it for anyways :P If only I could draw :(
VoidnOwO
This one isn't for drawing.

TIL drawing tablets require pressure sensitive input. Lol
Espionage724
If I can use the tablet on my metal table, then I'd buy it. Not sure if it's just specific tablets, or all tablets, but with my tablet (VisTablet PenPad), pen input acts really weird if I try to use the tablet sitting on-top of a painted metal table.
unown123
UOOOO! look forward to seeing it first hand!
Shadowa
so you say that the osu tablet may have a performance as good as the wacom bamboo? or better than it? :D
fluffys
Is this tablet still being developed or going to be released at all? Thinking of buying a tablet and would like to just buy this considering I would pretty much only use it for osu.
Gangsterkill
I'd definately buy one :O
Konei
Pretty much not, I prefer the way I have it currently :>
Soinou
I already have a tablet, but if it's really cheap and my tablet should ( I hope it's not today ) broke someday, why not.

That would be great.
GenoClysm
Is this still a possibility/being worked on?
Dexus
I hope this is still being worked on. I love having osu! related stuff, but there just isnt much out there.
Gislae
YES! but is it possible to ship it to other countries? :D
uzzi
Oh this would be great!
Maybe then I would switch to a tablet player...
emonite
Hell yes, I play osu using tablet, please make it come true :(
Arcanine
good idea :D

I want a tablet now :D

Not representative of final quality or design (the design on the top should be a much lighter gray), but here's is a sample unit that I received today:

BeatMaster007
Wow, now that's awesome.
10/10 will buy
Snickers
wow give me one now o_o
Magnolia
i already own three tablets but that design is Kawaii, ill take 5
Soarezi
does it have rubberish things on the bottom so it doesn't move on the table? and how small is that thing ;_;
Zaphirox
That's one sexy tablet
10/10 buyin' it

it does, yes.

To put size into perspective:
FunTimes
Considered a long time ago buying a tablet (just for osu! since i am not good in art anyways :D ) and this one might be worth shipping to Germany.
Well, we'll see how's it going in the future.
The Lolian
I'm looking for it's upcoming release as you said the first batch release will be later this year. Could you post a message for it's availability if you could.

Thanks in advance!
[juviagray]
i want it! >~<
TsundeRien
I already own a tablet (originally purchased for art) which I bought not long ago, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get this. :?

I like the design and size of it. Just wondering, will this tablet be wireless?
Pizzicato
can you give us the hardware specs?
Topic Starter
peppy
It is wired. Tentative specs:
Pizzicato
how much would it cost? a raw price would be cool :D
Sushimuffin
For people that weren't around in #osu at the time:

Oct 08 13:57:30 <peppy> should be globally available
Oct 08 13:57:35 <peppy> aiming for $30 + shipping
Oct 08 13:57:52 <peppy> no promises, still figuring out the overheads to get it to happen
Oct 08 14:06:23 <peppy> it has a removable nib
Oct 08 14:06:30 <peppy> comes with a few replacements, and works fine without it installed
Oct 08 14:06:56 <peppy> pen is 1 AAA operated, but feels a nice weight to hold
Oct 08 14:07:01 <peppy> and battery is said to last several months
Oct 08 14:07:19 <peppy> not included (shipping batteries is dodgy in the current terrorist climate)

Oct 08 14:11:42 <Simmal> how much do you expect the shipping to germany to be peppy?
Oct 08 14:12:41 <peppy> Simmal: hopefully less than $15
Oct 08 14:12:55 <peppy> maybe $20 at most
Oct 08 14:13:05 <Simmal> alright, that sounds awesome, thanks!
Oct 08 14:13:09 <peppy> i want to get it out this year

Oct 08 14:13:36 <Arras> Will there be a limited amount and you're screwed if it's sold out?
Oct 08 14:13:52 <peppy> probably 1,000 to begin with
Oct 08 14:14:00 <peppy> but i will keep ordering more if it sells *that* well
Oct 08 14:14:06 <peppy> it will be online only
Pizzicato
wow that is cheap
would buy
OMGasm
You had me at those last pics <3

What are the drivers like, and will it be compatible with wacom pens?
Topic Starter
peppy
It will run fine without driver, but does include a driver CD. I tried them before and they seemed fine.

Wacom pens will not work due to different technology (I'm pretty sure, anyway).
Gislae
*waiting patiently* :3
ryza
Mm, I didn't realize it was a different technology. I guess that makes sense though, because it requires batteries.

I have to say, the design looks really nice and if you can get them out for $30+shipping that would be a great deal

I do think you should offer a larger size though, the active area seems wayyy too small for me and probably a lot of other players, which will probably hold me back on purchasing one

peppy wrote:

Is it possible to change the active area to make it smaller?
The driver is x86/x64 compatible, I guess?
JareDeZane
wouldn't mind buying just to try it.
XEPCOH
is the tablet fully compatible with windows 8/8.1?
MasterCraft_old_1
i want it, but i already have a 470k >.<
TouchFluffyTail
Jesus that pen looks sooooo much better to hold over long periods than my 470's. I might have to get it just for that. :)
shaneoyo
I would buy it as a piece of osu! merchandise, but not consider using it.

There could be a sizeable amount of people who think this way because the more invested community members tend to be older, and thus have a bit more disposable income.
Topic Starter
peppy
The drivers do allow area mapping. It supports 32 and 64bit and works fine on 8/8.1.
Blaziken
My friend who just started playing osu! wants a tablet after trying mine at my house. When will this be released?

Impatient tho.
