Sayuri, the singer of the group, has had some health problems.

Silver Forest quit mid may this year didn't they? Sad story :(

BCI (it says to call you that in your profile ;)) what is your favourite circle/band then, touhou related?

I'm unsure... I really like Unlucky Morpheus (with Fuki - I know there are Fuki haters out there, but... I don't care :D).
Morrigan is nice. As is EastNewSound....

I don't think I have a "favourite" Touhou related band/group/circle ... It's hard to label them :3

When using the youtube url you should only put this "EsMNqUVv3mQ" part in.

Also to add in on what i said before, just because tasofro put in popular characters doesn't mean they will be in there 100%, just a chance :P

So. I'm going through TH8 & I just noticed I find easy too easy (as in no bombs no deaths), even clearing Hourai Elixir from time to time.... But I don't want to move on to normal :(

Tips? :D

Touhou needs more doujin rhythm games. I only know of one (it's like Rhythm Heaven but I forget the name of it :( ). At least there are plenty of Touhou songs in osu!

Finished all windows games on easy modo (ee? easy modo kyahahahaha), next goal is to finish them all on normal, though I dont play the games as often as I should. My favourite character is Patchouli, especially glasses Patchouli. My favourite circles are probably Demetori, TAMusic, Floating Cloud, and ENS. I also loved Secret Messenger's gensou no kyoukai ~ in the garden of phantasmagoria, for making perfect touhou x yuki kaijura crossovers (mostly kara no kyoukai, but theres a few madoka ones in there too http://youtu.be/H5RRJmiCF60 for example). My favourite boss is yuyuko, as her spellcards are visually stunning, synced perfectly to the music (esp dat first nonspell), quite difficult (in my opinion), and ressurection butterfly is intense.

I finished th7 on hard yesterday, I only had to use 3 continues... and slowdown... but I still feel accomplished :D.

Last time i attempted to Remilia I failed on her final spellcard on normal. Then I tried again lost 2 lives to Cirno, nope.jpg, and left it for another time.

I started playing osu! because of touhou music :)
I 1CC'ed most games on normal, as well as EoSD, PCB, IN, PoFV, MoF, and TD on hard.
For Extra Bosses I managed to clear Flandre, Ran, Mokou, Suwako, Koishi, and Mamizou.

Any tips for Nue? I somehow find UFO's extra stage hardest although its said to be one of the easier ones. :o

Shinki has about a tenth of the chance of coming back as Mima does. And that's already minuscule. It's not something I would hope that much about.

But speaking of Hopeless Masquerade, I am looking forward to the changes they make. It looks completely brand new, which will be lots of fun. AndIhopeNitorigetsinthegametoosinceshewassupposedtobeinsoku.

@Nue Kick: Watched the exact same video before, but I didn't even reach the second phase the only time I faced the spell. But why is Wriggle Kick original when many bosses before PCB can smack you in the face as well? xD

Speaking of Shinki, I find it fishy that Hopeless Masquerade(TH13.5) is "Shinkirou" which is a pun to mirage.

I can barely even 1CC Normal mode in most game...

And then you have the incredibly brutal TH11 and TH12 that make me ragequit almost every few seconds. Those huge bullets...and Byakuren's final spell...

Accurate depiction of my thought process while playing Touhou

But I came so close to beating Touhou 13's Extra Stage. But then I got addicted to osu. And yeah. :P

It would be awesome if Nitori and Koishi somehow managed to get into Hopeless Masquerade. Nitori has a high chance since she was supposed to be in 12.3, not sure about Koishi...

ZUN probably had them take a picture exactly like that on purpose just for speculation. It's more than likely just a fairy maid, just like the other maid standing over there. That being said I can't 100% deny that possibility. Just the probability.

Well...I found that "Touhou Hisōtensoku ~ Chōdokyū Ginyoru no Nazo wo Oe" is really attractive to those who love fighting games.
I have played this game for three months, and it's hard for me...The method of defense is really different from Super Smash Bros, a series of games release by Nintendo. So it's hard for me to get used to defend.

I almost did a hard 1cc on Subterranean Animism just one day after getting my very first ever hard 1cc in a Touhou game (Ten Desires).

And the sad thing is I missed out on an extra life just before the game over because a sun bullet perfectly covered the last fragment so I couldn't pull it in with focus.

Those moments when you see a spellcard do something that you have little chance of escaping from... Got to hate them indeed, especially if they are long survival spell cards.

Anyway, anyone know what characters other than Reimu and Marisa are going to be in Hopeless Masquerade?

EDIT2: Yep, works.

Things I've learnt so far:
On Time Out, the winner it the one with more % under the lifebar (popularity?), and not the life itself.
The bottom part of each character is different, Marisa has some 3-star thing that seem to change her moves to stronger versions, Ichirin has a rage mode(?), Reimu has a bunch of yin-yang orbs that do something(???).

The only thing I'm interested in is the whole roster and their new character portraits, maybe the storyline. Fighting games are far from my thing.

The % bar thing is audience appeal, and determines the winner in event of time out.
And apparently 13.5 runs on IaMP's spell system with SWR's deck system.

Ichirin has a badass portrait art. Also, Unzan's hitboxes are ridiculous.

The dmg, hitboxes, proration, health etc will all be altered in the main version, so don't be frigthened by it, all characters have to come out before they can patch and start buffing/nerfing balance.

This game is far different from games like 10.5/12.3 and can't really be compared to it.

There are a total of 8 slots where you can place different skill cards/items/spellcards, and each card can be selected several times. Each card may or may not act differently depending on what slot you put it in (The skill might do an extra attack/bullet, might be angled differently, or simply just do the default skill)

Spellcards sort of works like IaMP, you can declare a spellcard when your lifebar is fully blue, and then use it again to activate it. If you have 100% popularity, you can do your mega spellcard (everyone has 1 of those).

Also each character seem to have a different system to themselves.

In hisotensoku lunatic isn't much different than easy. Custom bot difficulties - really hard.
(for 1.10 here, and for 1.10a here - just try it ^^)

Well Last Words, Overdrives etc. are definitely difficulties where you should never blink, ever or the next thing you know is that you don't know where you are and before you know it *boom* you're dead. Well there are other factors (hitboxes) *ahem* but that's beside the point.

I just tested the new touhou fighter and I don't get it at all. It looks like they removed all the mechanics that made IaMP and soku fun. Waiting for a full download with english translation though.

I started Playing EoSD today, going to be working on a Lunatic clear with Marisa A. Spent about 2 hours on it, stages 3 & 4 need a lot of work, the furthest I managed to get was the stage 5 midboss.

I'm new to Touhou games. Been a secondary for years until now!

I almost 1cc Ten Desires normal, now i'm working on MoF. But I can't get past Stage 4. Even if I run perfect up to that point, I will always game over at Stage 4. Momiji and the stage in general are too hard!

Apologies for the bump, but...

I managed to reach Stage 5 in UFO on Normal with ReimuA just now. In fact, I almost reached Shou before getting a game over.

I've 1cc'd the following games on Normal:
PoDD with all characters
LLS with MarisaB
EoSD with MarisaA
PCB with ReimuB
MoF with ReimuB
SA with ReimuA

Yeah... not a terribly long list.

Tasofro released the web demo of TH13.5, it can be downloaded from their site.

It has some new features compared to the cd demo sold at the comiket:

New stage: Human village (which is Marisa's stage in this game), spectators are the Eientei crew, Suika, Yuugi, Rinnosuke and some humans from the village.
Faith system now actually has an effect on gameplay.

In other news there was a livestream with Zun about his own beer recipe where at one point he said that he's mostly done with 'his game' (which probably means he's not speaking about TH13.5, but still he didn't say it outright it's TH14) so he'll release the demo at Reitaisai 10 (may 26) and the full version at comiket 84 (aug 12). Knowing Zun he'll only make an official announcement about this only two weeks before the release.

In other news there was a livestream with Zun about his own beer recipe where at one point he said that he's mostly done with 'his game' (which probably means he's not speaking about TH13.5, but still he didn't say it outright it's TH14) so he'll release the demo at Reitaisai 10 (may 26) and the full version at comiket 84 (aug 12). Knowing Zun he'll only make an official announcement about this only two weeks before the release.

I'm pretty sure Byakuren will be playable in the full release. From the game's opening movie (translation copied from the Touhou Wiki):

I'm 99.9% certain the monk in question is Byakuren and the Taoist in question is Toyosatomimi no Miko. The shrine maiden in question is, of course, Reimu.

So Hopeless Masquarade full version will be released at Restaisai 10 which is may 26.

Well that was faster than I expected, this either means it will be a smaller IaMP sized game or the reveal was deep into the development.

And apparently Tasofro now says the recommended CPU for the game is an i7......what. The demo runs at a stable 60fps with all the graphical settings turned on on my dual-core 2.8ghz

With the release of the Touhou 14 demo(hopefully Zun will reveal if it's 14 or a decimal game in the radio interview tomorrow) this will be some fine Reitaisai.

edit: I really hope 14 will be harder and more... polished.

To me, nothing comes close to IN in replayability and enjoyment, the last spells are a killer, to unlock and to clear. There's just so many things to unlock, i'll never be done with IN. Other games like UFO and SA I feel are too one dimensional. There's the game and stage practice, but that's it.

I honestly think there wasn't anything wrong with 13 it's just with this particular gimmick goes only this far. However it's completely true that somehow it's not as fun as the others.

Scoring could be fun but how you have to kill enemies early to drop grey items AND try to connect with other enemy groups that never come at the right time that would be just to much planning for me. (I still find th12's scoring more annoying especially when a UFO decides to leave a second early ruining your run)

About it's difficulty I still want to say it's harder than 6,7, 8 and maybe 10 but mostly because how annoying and gimmicky the Yoshika (so you have a wall you want to pass, than these lasers to slip through AND collect blue orbs so she won't heal herself) and Seiga (having a Yoshika in my face creeping toward me while I want fight someone else is annoying ) fight is.

Imperishable Night without a question has the most fun scoring gimmick of all, it's just so fun to play recklessly for score and it's actually fun to experiment with which one is better playing unfocused for 3x graze or focused for time. PCB is second best only because I know the cherry border can be timed but it just need so much precision.

Has it actually been confirmed that we'll get a new demo (Touhou 14) at Reitaisai? I really hope so :) a new Phantasmagoria maybe? it's been a while since the last one and there's enough characters for it, I'm still hoping for a traditional one, even though I do love the vs ones.

About TD, if you're new to STGs it would probably be harder than some of the others in the series, because you need to know the game quite well (how to fill trance quicker, best places to use trance for more life/bomb fragments) to get more resources, where as getting a lot of resources in the earlier games comes more naturally, but the bullet patterns in TD aren't as hard (overall that it, there's still some tricky ones) so if you've been playing the other games in the series a lot the lack of resources won't be as much of a problem.

IN is my favorite in the series too. I play as Netherworld team & try to score, but Hard & Lunatic I still need to focus on survival a lot. :lol:
