If we wildcard, will we keep the same partner throughout the entire tournament? Or will wildcarders switch out between tournament rounds?
The wildcard teams will be decided at the beginning of the tournament randomly, and these teams will stay together throughout.
Also, how long will the maps be posted until the match has to be played? From what I see, there is a three-day period (make this clearer in your post, please) in which teams can compete against each other. Will the maps be released at the beginning of this period, or before?
A judge must be present at the time of the match(WE NEED MORE JUDGES). The judge will host the match, randomly choosing a song and leaving. After this, he/she will leave and the math will begin. The judge will still be watching the match, and confirm the results. There is a three day period from the announcement of the brackets in which both teams must be together and request a judge. Team leaders are responsible for contacting each other and working out a match time. If another leader is in a different time zone or will not respond, /msg or pm a judge and we will work it out. If a team leader does not respond to either a judge or the other team leader, then the team in question will be disqualified. If a match time is impossible between teams, we have last-resort procedures that that I still have to work out the kinks in with Gabi. It involves a team playing against a judge, and the scores being compared separately.
Will team match-ups be posted at the beginning or before this three-day period as well?
It's done elimination style, so the brackets will be updated after every round.
Can teams communicate to agree on mods, etc. before the match will be played?
Yes, besides those blacklisted. i.e. If both teams agree on Hidden, then it can be done, but not Spun Out
Will there be three maps posted (one for each round) or will there be more (for teams to agree to play)?
All maps are randomly chosen by the judge. Teams can choose to only play a certain star difficulty, though, and the maps will be randomly generated until a map of that difficulty appears. Both teams must consent.
How will disconnections/quits be handled? Rematch? Up to two rematches then a forfeit? Reschedule? What?
Quits will result in a score deduction. -25% per quit. Since there is no reliable way of confirming a disconnection or internet trouble, these will be regarded as intentional quits and are subject to the score deduction. If Osu! crashes, the crash report must be sent in, and a rematch will take place. Alternatively, a team can take the -25% score deduction in case of a crash.
Will 2v2 and 4v4 teams ever compete against each other? Will there be a battle between the top 2v2 team and the top 4v4 team? Or will they not touch at all? (4v4 may have an advantage, hmm...)
At this point in time, no. Interesting idea, though.
Sorry for the barrage of questions. Trying to clear up some things which may be a problem in the future.
Gabi, you might want to add some of these to the FAQ, as well as:
"Note that there is a chance, if we get an odd number of wildcards, that you will not be entered into a pair. It is implied that you agree to this risk when you sign up for wildcard, so no crying about it if you get dropped."
Also, I don't think judges should be eligible to play. It just doesn't seem right.
