So the day ends in around 20 hours...

Well gambit failed.
Was planning on intentionally acting scummy then lynch one of the people who bandwagoned me without giving their reasoning, but it failed since people apparently don't post enough.

So right now, Vote: dkun
Among the three who voted me, he gave the least reasoning as to why - only parroting what Backfire said.

that was really terrible and it makes no sense

why would you lynch vote for someone who voted for you, that's just makes you look worse

if you intentionally made yourself scummy, the reason is beyond obvious

that's like someone roleclaiming mafia and saying voting for them without posting a reason is scummy

That's why I said that I would vote for someone who voted for me, but gave little reasoning.
Basically someone who just wanted to hop on the bandwagon, but give no justification as to why.

using the wiki as evidence is just a cop out, especially when your supposed gambit wasn't even close to the page you linked

town don't have to look up bad strategies to scum hunt, but mafia do as an excuse for being bad

Fong's Gambit = Vote yourself -> Entice scum to vote for you -> Vote for them
My Gambit (Modified Fong's) = Act scummy -> Entice people to vote for you -> Vote for the people who just "bandwagoned" without giving any reasoning/ parroted other's reasoning

How exactly are they very different?

You have it wrong.
I knew that looking like scum would place "legitimate" voters on me with reasons and all.

BUT I was looking for those who just voted me with little/no reasoning.
Those who do that would just be looking for an "easy" lynch, so would bandwagon with little justification.
And those who do that, would get my vote.

Fong's Gambit is difficult to play since it's pretty obvious, but what I tried to do was less obvious.

I pretty much tried this gambit with rust's Kinda Experimental Mafia. It worked until Rantai was being shifty like always.

I do admit though, it is kinda stupid...

The problem with that is that most people tend to just vote willy-nilly anyway especially on day 1. If my memory serves right simply saying that particular people may have a mafia role will automatically get a bandwagon started on you despite the alignment of said voters. As far as I am concerned that doesn't constitute reasoning.

So the gambit itself is full of flaws.

I don't think the gambit is a flaw because I managed to pull it off once.

I think the flaw is how and where it's used. My personal opinion though.

If I were really mafia, then there should be a real cop who should "counterclaim" cop.

Until someone counterclaims of anything, I should be confirmed as a cop.
If someone does counterclaim, lynch either one of us. One of us will have to be mafia.

That's faulty logic, given the fact that we may actually have a doctor who could protect me.

Scum would want to target the doctor first before killing me since the doctor would 90% protect the claimed cop. (Follow the Cop strategy)

Hmm I was a Cop then Wojjan "rebalanced" my role into an Odd-Night Cop.
I claimed Cop just in case scum had a roleblocker, so they would continuously roleblock me.
If I had just claimed Odd-Night Cop from the start, they would have just roleblocked me every Odd-Night to prevent an investigation.

Ahh w/e. Looks like the investigative roles are now screwed.

The songs reared up again after an ugly night: many of them had had little sleep, wary of the malign forces in play, some of them had had none, concocting plans in the dead of night.

The dead of tonight was Lilac, a song of...

A song that sounded like...

Nobody remembered. Lilac wasn't just stopped, or murdered, his very essence was ripped apart at the seams, nothing but empty notes plinking on a cold floor like ice, shreds of sheet music gone and devoured.

Trace amounts of blood and a little less noise were the only things beratting his death.



Kchhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Lilac was a song, but no other information is obtainable from his lack of corpse. He is however dead and out of the game.

It is now Day Two, you may all again speak and cast your votes for the lynch that will occur Saturday Night Fever, 8 PM GMT.

What the hell, no one died yesterday? I guess we actually need a majority to lynch instead of the person with the most votes being lynched by default.

With 12 people, I'd only assume 3 mafia. I don't really know what to think, but I'm kind of suspicious of Mashley for conveniently leaving out foulcoon in his list, who only posted once right at the start. Backfire IIRC posted quite a bit as well. I'm also kind of suspicious of foulcoon for being inactive, but then again I've been inactive also o.o (I was kind of busy and the day ended before I got back)
