This feature request aims to solve a problem I ran into while helping m980 with JJF: I needed to use different hitnoises for different difficulties of the map. I also see significant potential for use in maps such as Grunty Industries, where each difficulty has a different theme. Also maps with themes like day/night or four seasons could benefit.

What I have in mind is a reference in each .osu to the name of a subfolder where osu! should look to find skin elements instead of always using the root of the beatmap folder. Skin elements would include graphical elements and hitnoises.

MM201 basically uses every single available sound when he can. So he'd use every custom soundset within a single difficulty :p

I thought once about combo-specific skinning... (I would pretty much use it in my newest map)
But hell, maybe that's just too much.

As for the topic, I can't see why it shouldn't be added.

i want to request about different skin on different difficulties.
is that possible?

example : i put hitcircle.png on subfolders easy, and put different hitcircle.png on other subfolders difficulties.

I'm hesitant to do anything involving map folder structures and such until osz2 is out the door.

But! Don't forget that filesize could get really high with (sometimes) full skinned maps :3
