After reading the manga it makes sense but the show seems to delibrately play down a lot of the supernatural stuff and pace itself so the last two episodes asre completly out of context.

Neon Genesis Evangelion, of course and Clannad After Story,since it took me ages to figure out the simbolism of the sheep in the ilusionary world and it's impact in the story, later it hit me that Okazaki was helped by this sheep to go back in time and change the bad ending to good ending. Then I read in a blog something that sustains this interpretation and also learned that the sheep is Fuko (black tail, black legs - black knee socks and black... something, don't remember right now, sorry XDD.
