Nice job derailing this topic. I'm sure I'd care about that jpg thing if I actually used wallpaper on my windows box. This request was for my os x machine (thus the horribly low resolution) for the record. Also "pretty lossless" != "lossless". If I see a single jpeg artifact I would swap wallpapers. Each to their own etc.

Also I'd still listen to a conference in FLAC, but let's stop this before I delete this thread out of its stupidity. (take this as a warning ph0x).

My macbook dithers even on external displays (ilu apple) so I can't really tell or fix stuff like that unless I'm at my desktop. Go for your life though (PM'd).

Here is my starting contribution to the cause.

Resizing Images 101

Assuming you're using Windows (and if you're not you're sure to know enough about resizing images by yourself), there is a powerful tool you can use to resize my wallpapers by custom width from a right click menu option provided by Prish Image Resizer. Using this tool you can resize an image by width, for example a 1920x1200 image to 1680x1050:

To find out what aspect ratio your screen's working resolution is, see this list. The aspect ratios are listed in the leftmost SAR column.


Ephemeral's Curse - no pippi

Resize as you wish:

16:10 aspect - 1920x1200

16:9 aspect - 1920x1080

4:3 aspect - 1600x1200

Resize as you wish:

1920 * 1200 would be nice and should not be that much work
Also, I don't like Pippi being mirrored. It would be better to use another osu! character instead

Yeah, as I said I didn't make it. Cropping it was very easy as all I did was remove the task bar and very few icons on the left by putting a black box on top of them and BAM. Instant original from someone else's work.

Imgur is best from what I've used although there is a 2mb limit and depending on how large a PNG is (Width x Height) it will compress it to a JPEG. If your gonna push huge raw PNG's I'd use Deviant Art as a dump source since they'll let you churn out 20mb+ PNG's and hotlink them.
