I lost the .psd for my previously posted wallpaper, so I re-created it.
Also, I fixed some stuff I saw were wrong in the first one, mostly the max resolution (now at 1980x1200) and the horrible, horrible banding.

Exept paint in xp that has the worst jpg compression ever, usually jpg with quality 90%+ has almost no visual different from lossless PNG and ends up having a way smaller file size (I though you cared about bw peppy) than PNG. But for images with smaller palette of color and more simple unicolor shapes, PNGs are usually the way to go.

It's completely noticeable, too, not even just a slight compression. According to Microsoft, it was to decrease boot time, which it does, by a few seconds. Also, I aligned the maximum quality .jpg on a layer on top of the .png perfectly, and toggled visibility of that layer to compare the two. There was no difference, from what I could tell; it was as if I wasn't toggling visibility of the layer at all.

Like that "benchmark" showed (I Know you loved them stragy), with bigger images, the different in size can be very big.
