Try Sharin no Kuni : Himawari no Shoujo, it's quite nice.akrolsmir wrote:
Hm... anyone have recommendations for good free ones for a neophyte? I've been through True Remembrance and Narcissu, though I liked the first a lot more.
Looks interesting, but it's not free. Not that money is an issue but I'd like to try out a few more before really getting into this. Plus, I can't make head or tail of how to order a product from a Japanese website.Kokizi wrote:

halfway downloading, just realized it's not translated so no :(mrgruntly wrote:
try Eien no Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword- http://vndb.org/v74
its a nice strategy-VN, but it might be a bit long if you try to get all of the endings
might try utawararemono laterKokizi wrote:
will also recommend utawarerumono, gadget trial and daibanchou(same company as sengoku rance)
and god forbid, Pretty Soldier Wars AD 2048 if ur into tentacles(this is my first vn lol, must explain as to why I don't find tentacles revolting. crappy story but it has some nice cgs).
If you're after some legitimately free ones you can download some of the translated trial versions of visual novels such as:akrolsmir wrote:

it is translated (or i wouldn't be able to play it), or the back-port is anyways.... its just the translation is a patch :sArusha Shuna wrote:

illusion games are also rather poorly optimized and take too much space for a game that would require you run on at least a 3.0 GHz processing chip with a reputable graphics card for flawless play, which if it isn't then it isn't worth running on your PC.Rid-ONE wrote:
illusion games are the best, beautiful 3D artwork... included @schoolmate & @homemate
but i usually played sonohanabira, a Yuri KN (Kinect Novel), and yes. who doesn`t know what KN means, in my mind KN mean a visual novel with only one-route.. you just have to click click and click to follow the storyline
my processor 1,6ghz dual core, the poor one in market.. works good playing illusion game... but yes the size of the game is just big~ and i choose sonohanabira because the size of the file are affordable for my (expensive and usually disconnected automatically) connectionFaust wrote:

Sono Hanabira is what you'd call a linear novel since each game focuses solely on a single pair. It's neat, but can be tiresome after a while.
Stein;sGate has had a translation for about a month now.Nano-Desu wrote:
Don't forget Steins;Gate! It's a Visual Novel too! But it's not translated, sadly.
Umineko is full of traps, I guess.

I've only played (well, I'm in the middle of it) Ever17. Love it so far. Oh, and the Ace Attorney series of course.
I was actually going to recommend this too, but I'm a guy so that might seem a bit strange.Yumi14 wrote:
If u're looking for the short VN my suggest is Re++ Alistair
I never fully understood everything that was going on in that game even after I finished it all. too complicated~ T_Tanthonyyy0 wrote:
