Maybe some dude who mods very well from time to time. I'd like to believe that the MATs and BATs don't add people whose background, modding activity and skill they haven't checked before. Also, I really don't want to be mean, but would you people please DIRECTLY criticize what you think is wrong with the people added to the MAT or BAT instead of posting snarky, meaningless comments that make you look like annoying trolls? We all might profit from that!Natteke wrote:

Skill is not everything. Being a nice and helpful communitymember is also a huge criteria. And that's the point where the most people fail I think. Maybe people like you who have skill at modding and mapping (though that is subjectivly anyway) should watch there attitude towards other people. Even if you don't like people like NotShinta, you don't have to fight his MAT-promosion because that only leads you into a worse position fpr the next MAT-round.NatsumeRin wrote:

Because MAT is never an ability-based team.
Because of this, there're always flames happen between skilled mappers and some of the MATs (you guys know who, right?)
Still, because of this, the skilled mappers/modders have less and less chance to get in the team and really help others. They're treated as flamers once they want to show their real opinions. All you need to do to if you want to become a MAT is to agree with those guys, or at least, close your mouth. Otherwise you can't.
NatsumeRin has 35 ranked maps and 563 kudosu and very good modding quality, if he know how to shut up, he's probably a MAT yet.

Explaining thoughts is trolling ?, I only see post of disappointment as BAT's thread, everyone should be free to explain it (still following forum rules), the point of the topic is not only for say "gratzzzzzz!!!1111 , YAYYYYY, I like rainbows1!111111", it's announcing new staff members at the community and the community answer.Mr Color wrote:

No one is saying that you or others new MATs doesn't know how to mod, I saw some of your posts and you seem a nice modder, the point is that actually for becoming a member of the staff (MAT in this case) "you must think in this way", "you can't explain what do you really think, and you must oppress it", this is not right, I would like give an random example like here, Armin, he's an awesome mapper/modder, he was MAT (for more than 1 years if I am not wrong) he got kicked from team for "bad behaviors" and for getting his nickname changed, this was purely ridicolous, he was 1 of most active/expert modders .. and there are MATs that don't mod from 6+ months, making a ladder fot becoming a MAT you should just have friendship. the quality of mods and the knowledge of mapping is the last thing that you should have, narakucrimson wrote:
Well... I can't say anything to that, Natsume, at least I don't think I can.
But, I guess it's clear that no matter who is the new MAT, he/she will for sure make his/her best to help the community...

I didn't start modding yesterday, either And yes, I hope to learn a lot in the process.
For everything else, well, if it counts... Sorry.

You're entire post seems just like an angry rant of "Well I'm just not a MAT because they hate me! WELL I HATE YOU TO. You're not always going to get what you want. If I always got what I wanted, I probably wouldn't be a MAT, but I'd be one thing. Happy, with a loving community to go to. But I don't have that yet. But I have a goal! I want to have a little bit more appreciation from my peers! So what do I do? I stay nice to everyone. I participate in discussion. If you seriously want to be a MAT, first of all, loosen up the attitude. Getting the MATs and BATs pissed off isn't the way to become a MAT. It's not revolutionary either. You're not going to start some sort of Revolutionary War. They had legitimate reasons. You're just mad because things didn't go the way you wanted. Second of all, don't get butthurt because your results aren't coming immediatley. All of the MATs on this list, I have NEVER seen complain once about not being a MAT! If you have evidence of "omg wtf I want to be MAT", then please do share it with me. Third of all, look at those who are successful, and imitate them. I'm not a good tuba player because I just said "Well I'm just amazing these people are just silly", but rather because I listened to suggestions, and I also surrounded myself with imitating those whom were good at what they did. Did I become carbon copies? No! But I saw what made them good, and I applied it to myself!
This is just a huge wall of text, but tl;dr, don't be such a baby. MAT isn't just "Who's the best" but rather "Who is the most qualified both as a modder and as a person"

I know many awesome modders being ignored/discarded for the possibility of becoming mat, Rin (talking about him, but there are so many people that can be good candidates) in my point should not be a MAT, he should be a BAT, I saw a lot of modding posts from him, he's an awesome modder/mapper and most important things, when modding, mods for helping people, as I see many current Staff members mod for find problems in the map or just for getting kudosu.
Sry but I don't remember say something that isn't true and I haven't discussed with other people before, "most of them don't deserve be one" is not all of them, and is not only me thinking it, the good ones rly helps community and are overworked with too much maps/reqs and all. My sadnes comes from don't be able to help more good mappers than can't find a single MAT/BAT for weeks or months, do you know how many times I read "MAT/BATs don't want mod my map"?, from beggining probably I will never send a app if there was enought MAT/BATs (good ones), actually I don't want be MAT because they got req like crazy and they can't catch all of them, they need ignore people and a lot of awful things, but not for that I'm going to skip the fact than there ARE MAT/BATs who only see themselves and their friends if you want denny that then maybe you need go and check logs of Kudos/ranks and open a little your eyes. I said than MATs need be people who deserve it, not only the best, if you think than sit down and keep your mouth shut is the way for resolve things then you are wrong.CDFA wrote:

Oh actually I accept it right at the moment when I read list of promotion, you still don't catch than I DON'T WANT BE, is more like I want return something to community for their help at me and just be a normal usser is not enought for help them sometimes, well that's my reason I don't know from others.whymeman wrote:

Besides that, crying over not being a MAT is a sign that you refuse to see what areas you need to improve on. If you keep doing the same things that cost you this round till the next one, history would just repeat itself again.
Then please public who participated on votation, each round and why each app got rejected, I wasn't interested in this but if you want show attitude to community then don't be so secretive and start to show a little more respect, if you want respect from us then respect us too and don't keep things for "your inner circle", maybe it will make us less angry.whymeman wrote:
