00:00:202 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - I liked how you repeated this pattern, and gave a slight variation at 00:11:152 (1,2,3,4,5) - while keeping the similar idea. While these are something what recent mappers won't often do, I think it's one of the most effective ways in showing the song.

These words mean so much coming from you ❤️❤️❤️

00:04:308 (1,2,3) - i don't really like how those are misstacked with 00:03:509 (3,4,5) - you definitely should consider overlapping them perfectly as this would fit more of an "organized" grid mapping style imo !

permalink

I already stacked 00:04:327 (1,2,3) - on 00:02:958 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - so I didn't want to stack another set of objects in the same place however, your comment gave me the idea to reduce the stacking leniency setting in both the Expert and Insane diffs so thanks for that :)

I agree with graph here. There are some really messy overlaps here. I recommend you stack this so that it looks like it has more structure too

00:04:308 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - this part feels really cramped and also is really poor play field usage. i would move them to the side like this so that your cursor doesnt just stay on this one line of the screen? https://i.imgur.com/w0TKQde.png

00:10:696 (5,6,4) - i know your map is strict with the visuals and thats why its jarring when overlaps like these happen, consider moving the entirety of the pattern starting from 00:11:152 (1) - so as to not have this weird overlap with the previous pattern when there isnt supposed to be a correlation between these

permalink

in contrast this kind of overlap 00:13:091 (3,4,5,3,4,5) - makes sense since its musically correlated, but by overlapping what i mentioned youre "gluing" them together when i dont think thats the intention

permalink

would say same thing about this, remove overlap 00:16:399 (4,4) -

permalink

I don't mind the overlaps as the second set of objects appears after the first set has already disappeared

00:14:802 (4,5) - Mute slider end for every instance of this

permalink

I'm not sure why. I'm not against the idea but I don't see, or rather, hear, anything special about these sounds

permalink

00:16:399 (4,4) - I can really understand most of this overlaps but this one looks very bad and in my opinion you could just move 00:17:198 (3,4) - these two objects so it fits.

permalink

I don't mind the overlaps

00:20:278 (4) - remove the whistle on the sliderbody? (i think this is just an accident as i dont see it used anywhere else)

permalink

nice catch, thanks

00:26:894 (4,5,6) - think you should ctrl+g all these sliders cause this and 00:26:209 (1,2,3) - play very differently

00:30:316 (1,2,3) - I think you're using this pattern too much cause you use this 3 times here 00:22:103 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6) - and then you're using the same pattern after this 00:26:209 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - where you could really use it 3 times before this part and use some other pattern or at least rotate it cause right now it feels kinda boring.

00:33:738 (2) - would raise sv on this to distinguish it from 00:33:053 (1) - and represent rising pitch

permalink

00:34:422 (1,2) - would also lower sv back on 1 and raise again on 2

permalink

I don't want to raise the sv as there's no change in intensity and the pitches are distinguished by where the sliders are placed on the playfield

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

00:33:738 (2,2) - Consider removing the whistle in the slide. There is a different sound if you add a whistle in the slide, which is a bit annoying personally.

permalink

00:33:053 (1,1) - Actually these two have clap-sliderslides too. usually those are blank in skins but if some player for some reason has it skinned then it would sound odd. Would recommend just remove them too if you decide to remove the others.

00:37:160 (4) - There's really nothing supporting this slider end

00:38:072 (1,2) - 00:39:441 (1,2) - 00:42:293 (1,2) - 00:43:548 (1,2) - 00:44:916 (1,2) - 00:59:973 (1,2) - etc etc I think it would be much better if you can change the 1/4 slider for (2) to a single circle for a better readability. While this part was relatively calm, I think the rhythm you were using along the stack was way too tricky for this section. So you could do something like http://puu.sh/GLptr/fb87314e14.jpg

permalink

Basically avoiding the stacks to not confuse players at this level

permalink

made it more readable :)

00:42:065 - 00:47:540 - 01:03:966 - 01:09:441 - imo these rhythms were not really fitting well with the song, and removing the reverse would reflect the song's rhythm better. Kinda felt artificial.

00:47:768 (1,2,3,4) - to keep the linear design on the Kiai with stacks like these, how about mapping them like so? https://gyazo.com/ade3d68e85d609272aa30aade662ce22 movement is about the same as it was using stacks, given the spacing between objects

permalink

of course, this applies across the kiai if you wish to apply it

permalink

did it. Now it's also easier to read as I stacked 1/4 rhythms before so stacking 1/2 rhythms in these sections was a bit confusing

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

00:48:110 (4,5,6) - I recommend reworking this kind of rhythm because it doesn't really follow the song all that well with its current state

permalink

I like the reverse slider idea- the pitch reduces from the slider head to the reverse arrow and then the pitch is again higher on the slider tail.

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

00:49:023 (1,2,3,4) - this line is kinda uncomfortable to play and i think a back and forth motion would represent the song better like this https://i.imgur.com/Y9dgL6r.png

permalink

00:51:760 (1,2,3,4) - same thing

permalink

This is intentional. I placed this awkward straight pattern in the kiai as it's the most intense section and deserves to be more difficult

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

00:49:023 (1,2,3,4) - 00:51:760 (1,2,3,4) - 00:54:498 (1,2,3,4) - 00:57:236 (1,2,3,4) - These straight jumps have a clear impact on how it plays, but I think it would be much better if you had an extra hitsound support for these patterns. Suggesting to add sampleset-Normal as they feel impactful enough with this.

permalink

Same for the second kiai.

00:51:190 (6,7) - similar sort of idea to #1678598 to keep straight line aesthetic and avoid stacking. nudge the circles under these sliders about 10 pixels away from the body (ctrl+arrow key)

did it because even though these are meant to emulate reverse sliders, the whole thing looked weird after applying your other suggestion

00:54:954 (1,2,3) - you keep mentioning consistency, so why you switch from 00:52:217 (1,2,3) - to 00:54:954 (1,2,3) - ? I see no reason why. If you want some variety, I think you would be better off only using 00:54:954 (1,2,3) - for first kiai and only using 00:52:217 (1,2,3) - for second kiai

permalink

I like how it is now because the first kiai ends with 00:57:692 (1,2,3) and the second kiai starts with 01:11:380 (1,2,3) which creates a sort-of smooth transition. Also, by that logic, to keep pattern usage consistent, I should only use 00:47:768 (1,2,3,4,5,6) in one of the kiais and 00:50:506 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) in the other and so if I made these changes I would have kiais where the exact same patterns repeat 4 times and then the kiais would end and that's just very uninteresting.

00:59:403 (1,2) - i think stacking these would better represent the pause in the song here and also look better visually. same for all other parts like this 01:04:878 (1,2,3) -

permalink

The sound on 1 is held so it's not really a pause. Also, it mirrors nicely earlier parts of the map 00:00:544 (2,3,4) . I just like the movement, the reading, you know?

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

01:20:962 - I think you should at least try to space the sliders and circles differently in this section, because it's too confusing to properly get the rhythm you're expressing here. Since the distance snapping was 1.00x, the slider 01:20:962 (1) - and circles 01:21:532 (3,4) - look the same with the default skin, and it is really hard to tell what is a slider and what is a circle. 01:29:745 (1,2,3,4) - Same issue overall.

permalink

Similar opinion for Insane too, some minor rework will be enough.

permalink

done for both

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silence1020

01:20:982 - this calm section is a bit too cluttered in my opinion you really should space stuff out more cause this part feels like an Easy diff

permalink

The problem is that I used a 1x DS on the sections directly before the kiais so now if I increase the spacing on this much calmer section the contrast will be lost.

01:23:243 (1) - I think this should be snapped to 1/2, considering 01:24:384 (2) -
