forgot to point out initially but ending seems a bit offtimed, use this timing and adjust stuff to it to properly time ending

that's not really a speed up or remix but completely different version of a song, demo or something like that.

i have some old video with this song and pishifat's set confirming that and original audio was unfortunately deleted from creator's soundcloud

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GatNGDWfAow
https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/623007#osu/1313204

probably title should be reverted to the new "new nisekoi groove" as it's different ver of the song, could put welcome to groove in tags to mention these songs are kinda same thing

LOL thank you for helping with this, i know you were doing a lot of research and i appreciate it a lot!!! done!

wut? no it isn't.. If you download the bandcamp listing, you can see it's literally welcome to groove but sped up by a bit. Plexi's version is slightly different in terms of the instruments and structure as it's a remake.

I have also PM'd nichijou with the mp3 downloaded straight from bandcamp and twitter dms with android52

permalink

me and actiol were trying to re-do this cut from original and plexi's versions to give mapper a better audio (192) and that seemed kinda impossible because of differences in these, can't be sure either

may need to dm android52 again to confirm what meta should be used if it's indeed some true their thing

ive sent a dm to android52 today, will update you both when i get a response :DD

Alright so, i did some digging

First up, Plexi's version is a rearrangement that tries to mimic the track that existed on soundcloud, length doesnt really match, the start is kinda the same but not really, its very odd.

There was indeed, at some point a track called the new "new nisekoi groove" on soundcloud, there is no wayback machine url, the only proof of its existance is the automated tweets from soundcloud. this is the only proof of its existance everything else is scrubbed off, no wayback links, no nothing,

https://imgur.com/9e8pCPq

I did some searching and i found an old bandcamp listing that is supposed to have the new new nisekoi groove on it according to musicbrainz that SOMEHOW sourced it as 20 tracks ( https://musicbrainz.org/release/85f05366-2f48-4cae-89dc-ad4abe83bf51 ), but the wayback listing for this album has 13 tracks, so where did those other tracks come from? (http://web.archive.org/web/20160610214840/https://baq5.bandcamp.com/album/android52-presents-file-corrupted)

i found a reddit post where a user was talking about how they came in contact with android52 and they sent him the entirety of FILE CORRUPTED (the album) which had 20 tracks instead of 13, which tracks with the musicbrainz listing and only thing that corroborates it (https://www.reddit.com/r/futurefunk/comments/wclv8t/i_immortalised_one_of_my_personal_favourite/) check the first comment

taken from the comment

The man himself, android52, got in touch with me on twitter and sent me his files for WELCOME NEW GALAXY and, upon request, FILE CORRUPTED! With this, I can 100% confirm that File Corrupted is a 20 track album and that only 13 tracks were shown on Bandcamp with the rest being available only through downloading. (Where the 10 track version I had came from I have no idea)

i managed to get my hands on the 20 track file corrupted album version and true enough there WAS a the new new nisekoi groove track and... it was a 3:40 track that is 100% different from this

So, what the hell happened?

Apparently android52 at some point completely rebranded and then deleted much of their catalogue, im sure the actual track named that way existed, and then was proceeded to be branded as a title oon another song, and its all very confusing. What is true however is that this track is indeed a very eerily similar version of the sped-up version of Welcome To Groove, a song released on the now rebranded android52 on bandcamp

https://neoncityrecords.bandcamp.com/album/anime-wav-groove-vol-1-2 : This was released in 2018

There is so little information to go around anything we can do is conjecture. So this is what i think happened.

Welcome to Groove is using the stems and melody from the old deleted soundcloud version and re-released on the welcome to groove disc.

the soundcloud version did exist, and theres enough people going around seeing that it existed, pishi himself used that metadata taken from the soundcloud which is confirmed to exist (https://soundcloud.com/android52/nnnisekoi) (no wayback links), so by association we can assume that THIS was the audio of that soundcloud link and call it a day. There is also the oppostive side however where user Keisuke Shibata on twitter is commenting how this track is an edit of Sleep zzz from nisekoi

https://x.com/kei__shibata/status/749291843196588034

this is corroborated by the mp3 i found that was 3:40 and is indeed a future funk remix of sleep zzz (idk if i can post audio here so like uhh trust me bro)

THIS IS ALL VERY CONFUSING

Using the new new nisekoi groove by association since the presence of this track is corroborated multiple times by third parties is iffy since theres also contractions, but it could work, i wouldnt personally do this, but i wouldnt bat an eye if it happened isnce information is so sparse where its IMPOSSIBLE to get any primary sourcing, the audio is just lost. There is also the contentioon of the 3:40 new nisekoi groove existing that was given to the album ver, but we dont know if android52 just deadass used that name on another track, but that track is essentially a nisekoi remix and twitter link above also supports that this might have been the soundcloud link

The only way i can think of to avoid conjecture headache, since indeed this is kinda like a sped up ver of welcome to groove, and to get a better mp3 at the same time, is to get the actual welcome to groove track, speed it up to approximately the length of this mp3, and use that mp3 and name it Welcome To Groove (Sped Up Ver.), since the mp3 was changed to that officially, without getting into the specifics of what the hell the new new nisekoi groove was supposed to be,

i spent more time than i thought on this, in the end i couldnt get a clear answer due to the sparsity of the information, so the best that i can do is get all the info out there so the people can read this and reach a verdict, im not really that active in this game anymore so i will probably not follow up on this or have it tracked, i was approacehd to comment on this and so i did. have a good one

Thank you for the help Nokashi, Coppertine, -Koyomi and wuk (for the help on twitter). This has been hellish to figure out, but I finally got a hold of android52 and we've got an answer.

Link to the twitter thread here:
https://x.com/nichijouosu/status/1893389892442345550

We denoted that the song is in face Welcome to Groove and not the new "new nisekoi groove", through this quote from android52: "idk if I ever made a different edit with that exact name, it's been years and i don't really give these songs much thought anymore. the song in the video is definitely some version of welcome to groove though" (link to source https://x.com/_android52/status/1893397917190193620)

We can take this further though, as it is clearly not the same version of Welcome to Groove as seen on his bandcamp. So a friend of mine (thanks wuk) stepped in to ask a further question on my behalf to get a more concrete answer.

Again, to quote android52: "there is no "official name" because it's an unfinished version of another song from like 8 years ago. the title in that youtube video is either wrong or outdated though. call it welcome to groove (unfinished version) or whatever you want it's really up to you." (link to source https://x.com/_android52/status/1893433262980120664)

Me and Coppertine feel that "Welcome to Groove (Demo Version)" makes sense and is correct to what android52 suggests.

normal -> easy
hard -> insane
insane -> some custom name or expert

normal uses just 1/1 of 120bpm which is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally low for average normal diff and being more of a habit for easy diffs

hard features some REALLY cool patterns like 00:25:426 (1,2,3,4) - but that's unfortunately unrankable for a hard diff so insane would be okay and insane is just it's progression with extra spacing

add some actual normal (diff that occasionally uses 1/2 in it's rhythms with ~5object chains) and hard diff with moslty 1/2 rhythm and maybe some 1/4 like 00:16:716 inbetween objects here for vocals.

that would be a nice enough spread progression

permalink

the new new new new new new new nesekoi groove as diffname lol

changed diff names and working on a normal and hard diff! top diff name could stay, mainly a placeholder name for now tho :D

00:44:781 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - normal sampleset alternating with soft-hitclap or drum-hitwhistle to represent kick-snare pattern here
00:46:233 (7,8) - two claps here
00:46:717 (9) - finish for cymbal
00:47:684 (1) - and something here, maybe finish too, maybe something weaker as drum-hitwhistle

Metadata mod!
So uhh, fun story.. I actually did metadata for this song like a while ago.. pishi kinda got pissed (what i think happened) which is why he also has the the new new new new new new new nesekoi groove submitted.

So let's try to fix this.. shall we?
Title: Welcome To Groove (Sped Up Ver.) [1]
Artist: android52[2]

Source:
---------
Bandcamp
(You can download them for free to check yourself)

Notes

[1]: In reality, the actual song is 1 min 40 secs and is pretty damn slow (it also has a "Repressed Bitch" sample at the very end, but it's not really "cut ver" territory)
[2]: Another for contention, but what i figure is that Plexi^2 made a sped up and extended version (remade of course), but it's only slightly different and would not exactly matter for this case

permalink

huh i never wouldve caught that, ty! i originally took metadata from LeCandy's set, so I thought it was all good. hopefully its all good now LOL
