Amazing mapset, the Insane difficulties are super well done and preserve the feeling of the song without compromising an enduring sense of legitimacy even for more skilled players. [Master] is probably my favourite ranked map from 2017, with exceptional usage of slider velocity changes and movement. It handles the tempo change so deftly, offsetting the naturally higher density with lower spacing/SV in a way that somehow perfectly stabilizes to a suitable difficulty increase. Amazing representation of the song.
Unless something magical comes out in the next week or so, [Master] is probably my favourite map of 2017. Just amazing from start to finish. I hope more maps like this reach ranked.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand handsome maps. The gimmicks are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical structure most of the patterns will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also handsome’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his mapping philosophy draws heavily from Hollow Wings maps, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these maps, to realise that they’re not just gimmicks- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike handsome maps truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the patterns in handsome’s technical map “Nimensei*Uraomote Life!,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Bearizm’s Japanese epic Cold Green Beans. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Marcus Wong’s genius wit unfolds itself on their osu! games. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a handsome slider tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 peppy points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
From musical director to nascent artist, handsome is among one of the most well known mappers in the osu! community, by virtue of his hit track Rashisa being bundled with the game for many years. An established Canadian songwriter, handsome is the two-time winner of "The Beat" Bootcamp Mapping Competition, a finalist and Honorable Mention in the International Mapping Competition and the winner of Canada's National Mapping Competition.
A crisp, soul-heavy sound reminiscent of early 70's songwriting collides with the overtones of mainstream pop and rock, providing an infinitely accessible platform for players to make use of. The familiarity of handsome distinctive sound will not be lost on anyone who has ever turned a radio on in the modern age, with sweeping melodies and gentle vocal hits providing countless opportunities for players to flex their creative muscles.
Players of all kinds seeking a departure from the heavily electronic instrumentation and female-dominated vocalists common to much of osu!'s music will find a kindred spirit in handsome's work.

Soaring to her iconic osu! fame on the back of her cover of You Know They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, pishifat (アニメさん) is all but the osu! community's first self-appointed idol.
Making her grand debut with her mini-album Emerald Galaxy, pishifat is quickly building on the fame and following she has gathered as a highly popular Japanese-American influencer (YouTube celebrity) across dozens of vocal covers of popular Japanese and anime-related maps.
Wielding her cutesy and quintessentially sweet voice, pishifat's lyrical mastery is very much the front-and-center of her work. Mappers familiar with osu!'s classic popularity of anime-related tracks and Japanese vocalists will find something familiar yet refreshing in her sound.
