Okay! First beatmap. After several weeks of work and testing, I hope it's up to standard. All four difficulties are made by me.

This isn't the full version of the song. There is a small cut to keep it more energetic and short. The full version of the song is here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/75190

I have a background, and it works, but it's not the best. If someone can find another one that isn't any art or photo theft, or recommend ideas for a new one, I'll gladly take that into consideration!

-Re-playtested all difficulties and made spacing fixes, combo fixes, and difficulty adjustments. Easy and Normal are much easier to play now.

-Other spacing fixes for the combos after the first break
12/20/10:
-After many futile attempts otherwise, finally distance snapped Easy and Normal with the distance snapping tool in the editor. They're very very different now. Hard and Insane still need spacing fixing, particularly for their ending sections.
-New Background
1/2/11:
-Few tweeks of non-importance (removing extra bookmarks, positioning fixes, fixing some kai time, easy, normal)
-Hard and Insane still need that spacing work; That's the next task, then a-more modding.
1/4/11:
-A few slider tweek things and single unit fixes for normal. Nothing too big.
-Started resnapping Hard, about halfway done. Due to the state of this beatmap, moving to WIP for now.
1/6/11:
-Finished resnapping Hard, and scrapped Insane and started it over. Insane isn't finished yet. When it is, it'll go back to pending, and I'll really work at getting it ranked.
2/3/11: Beatmap is alive! Slider symetry fixes for Easy, Normal, and Hard. Work on Insane continues, though is not yet comeplete.
2/15/11:
-Changed Blue combo Color to light blue, making the approach circles easier to see against the background (All difficulties)
-Continued work on Insane Diff. It's now 1/3 complete.
2/4/12:
-Guess what's alive again? This map, that's what's alive again! After a very long time, and large amount of work, this map- all four difficulties- have been completely rehauled and redone. Please completely redownload the map so that you get all the new changes the first time! Enjoy the new Runaway, everyone!
2/8/12:
-Moved some notes on Hard so that they're properly on the grid/play area
-Upon re-reviewing the rules, I've noted that all difficulties need to end at the same point. Thus! I've mapped the "ending" bit to normal difficulty. Easy difficulty will soon follow suit.
-Fixed some hitsound issues on insane
2/9/12:
-Ending to easy added.
-Fixed some spacing issues.
-Map is currently finished! Might need more modding, though.

I think it's barely enough to follow the music, but the spacing is not really constant...
e.g. insane 0:38:699 ->1.0x 0:18:198 (2,3) ->1.35x, (3,4) -> 1.48x
you'll need a unique spacing throughout the diff (suing the same spacing multiple in most of the time)

  1. Preview Point must be the same for all the mapset.
  2. I've checked the diffs and those are not correctly spaced.
  3. Activate Distance Snapping and go trough the diffs and make sure everything is correctly spaced and snapped.
  4. You should check this if you need more help about beat spacing.
  5. When you are done checking spacing call me back, And I'll re-check the diffs.

I'm not sure if it's acceptable.

I really think you should map this song to the end (when it fades out, and use a spinner on the fade out).
Imo it seems to end at a random point at the moment. Its only an extra 15-20 seconds of mapping needed.

I've noticed alot of "linear" gameplay. This is common for new mappers :) - Edit: actually, most of this only occurs on easy.

Although I can see that these together make a larger pattern, its just an example I choose.
I think you should check out this forum for some ideas that you can use to make your map more "fun" to play :)

Easy
Circle size is currently 5.
For an easy I would highly recommend (seriously do it ._.) a minimum circle size of 4, with 3 being prefered. Circle size 5 and higher are typically only found on insane's, or really old maps.

01:02:925 (4) - Rearrange this note/combo so that (4) doesn't overlap with (5), it looks "not good"

01:28:744 (1,2,3,4,5) - As per above (linear) you could make something like this here:

The rythm and timeline of notes are pretty good, just need to work on the appearance/note placement :)

Combos need some work. I'll point out a few, but let others better at combo placement help you out.

00:18:925 (5) - You can use a NC here if you want to keep the same as before.
00:20:380 (1) - NC
00:46:562 (9) - NC
01:21:471 (7) - NC
01:41:835 (1) - I'm sure you can think of a more interesting shape to use here than a huge straight line.
Check out some posts here for some nice ideas :)

01:54:925 (1) - Add a note here with a new combo.
01:55:289 (2) - Move to 01:55:471.
01:55:653 (3) - Move to 01:56:016.
=> This is the same thing as in easy, fix all your rythms like this to be the same.
(such as here: 01:57:835) You should know what to do..
02:00:744 (1) - ^

02:08:016 (1) - You could move this down a little. In gameplay the approach circle, and the combo splash are both underneath the hp bar.

Once again, only diff that seems to be "linear" is easy. You should have a look at changing easy around a bit ;)

Insane
00:06:107 (2,3) - Select both and press ctrl+r. There is no real reason for these to be inverted. Doesn't match the music o3o.
00:08:744 (12) - New combo.
This will need alot of combo modding in the future.

00:27:653 (6) - Move this from under (5)
00:27:926 (7) - Also move this a little from under (5)
00:30:562 (6,7) - Move these from under (5) too
00:43:653 (1,5) - Work on the symmetry of these sliders.

00:46:199 (7,8,9,10,11) -

Try something like this instead? Looks bad with (11) being underneath (9) imo.

01:21:471 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) - Consider making something more interesting with this combo, but fine as is.

01:54:925 (1) - It's this part again (yes from normal and hard) Add a note and a new combo here.
01:55:471 (2) - [b]Move to this time

01:56:016 (3) - Move to this time
=>Repeat where this rythm occurs.

Not too bad, just needs a bit of work.
Hopefully this mod is a good start.
