The osu! TV Size Tournament 2018 (otst! 2018) was a double elimination four-on-four osu! tournament hosted by Trigonoculus and Seaweed. It was the second instalment of the osu! TV Size Tournament.

Ruleset

Tournament rules

1. There will be 6 mappools in total - Group stage, Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals.
2. Mappool sizes will progressively get bigger each round after Ro16. Starting with a 4/2/2/2/2/3 format.
3. Group stage will be round-robin, followed by a double elimination bracket.
4. Maps will be no longer than 2 minutes drain time.
5. The winner of !roll will ban and pick first.
6. Teams get one ban in group stage, Round of 32, and Round of 16. The rest of final stage is to be determined.
7. Tiebreakers will be a BO3 instead of a single match.

   • !roll, higher roll picks first during a tiebreaker.

Winning conditions

1. Group stage will be BO7, the first team to reach 4 points will win the match.
2. Round of 32 and Round of 16 will be BO9, the first team to reach 5 points will win the match.
3. Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be BO11, the first team to reach 6 points will win the match.
4. Finals and Grand Finals will be BO13, the first team to reach 7 points will win the match.

   • There will be a bracket reset match.

Tournament registration

1. If a team member needs to be replaced after signing up, please contact a host before registration ends. No rosters can be modified after registration ends.
2. Each member of a formed team needs to be in the Discord server to verify team's participation.
3. If a player changes their name, they need to inform a tournament host or admin as soon as possible to avoid misunderstanding in a match.
4. If a player exhibits suspicious behavior, including but not limited to suspected multi-accounting or cheating, their participation in the tournament might be prohibited, subject to tournament host discretion.

Scheduling instructions

1. Scheduling will be based on team timezones to avoid as many no-shows as possible.
2. If your team wants to reschedule a match, please have yours and the opposing team agree on the new time and have the team captain submit proof of agreement to a host at least 24 hours before the match starts.
3. During the group stage, a 3v3 match could be arranged if the teammates can’t make it. The other team must be notified and agree to it too

   • Reminder 4v4s must be played in final stages.
4. If you are certain that your team cannot make it to a match even after a reschedule, please tell a host and we will give you a loss for that match (this wastes less time for us and your opponent).

Match instructions

1. Referees have final decision in all matches so please respect their choices, but do not forget that they are human too and any disrespect will result in penalties.
2. At the time of the match, referees will invite the captain into the lobby. If for any reason the team captain cannot make it to a match, please have a team member inform a referee before the match starts.
3. If a team is not present for the match 10 minutes after the scheduled time, that team will forfeit the match. If neither team makes it, !roll will determine who wins or loses

   • Though we allow you to be late for 10 minutes, if there are no valid excuses or explanation to referees then penalties will take place for these following times:

     • 3 minutes late - opponent’s warmup is skipped.
     • 5 minutes late - first picks and bans go to team that is already present.
     • 7 minutes late - one point goes to the team which is present.
     • 10 minutes late - late team forfeits (subject to referee's leniency).
4. At the start of the match, both captains will roll using the !roll command. The higher roll gets to both ban and pick first. Warmups can either be chosen by roll or another method decided in the lobby

   • There will be no warmups in group stage. Warmups in later stages are strictly limited to 2 minutes maximum drain time.
5. 1 ban per team up to RO16, 2 bans from Quarterfinals onwards.
6. Teams may substitute players in and out of the lobby without limit.
7. Mods allowed in FM: Hidden, Hardrock, Flashlight and Easy

   • At least 2 players in a team must activate at least one mod.
   • Players may combine mods (eg. HDHR).
8. If a player ends the map failed, their score will not be counted. However, if the player is alive at the end of the map, then their score will be counted regardless of whether they failed during the map or not.
9. Participants are allowed, however not required, to use mods in the tiebreaker maps.

Pick/ban timers

1. Picks and bans are limited to 1 minute per pick/ban.
2. Swapping players are now limited to 1 minute and 30 seconds after the map has been selected.

New rules

1. Excessive match stalling or time-wasting by players are subject to punishments, decided upon by the referee.
2. In the event of a disconnect, the team that lost the player may opt to replay the map if they desire. However, this will only be tolerated once.
3. If the team that lost the player ends up winning regardless then the point still counts for them. There will be no replays.
4. If the team that didn’t DC have a point advantage that the other team could not have made up even with their player present (i.e 5 mil+, depends on the mod type) then the map is not replayed.
