4/1/22 - Chat with Nimis
Changes:
- Changed 00:04:848 according to FLeVI, but with my own version of the pattern.
- Nerfed buildup pattern starting from 00:16:162 from dense js into consistent stacking for emphasis, to be more in line with the rest of the chart.
- Accepted Pengdoll's suggestion to extend LNs for the melody and ignore bass sound. Also changed some 1/4 notes into LN due to change in layering (ignoring bass sound in LN selection).
- Changed pattern at 01:02:790 to have a faster second half (1/6 -> 1/8), along with all instances of the same sound which I could find.
- Flipped some flams around 01:23:533 to avoid clashing with the next doubles.
- Changed guitar LNs in the quiet part at 02:02:790 into simple guitar 1/2s. Note that these are very simple and only serve to represent the sound's presence, not to be 100% accurate.
- Added 1/2 LNs in the kiai at 03:17:533 to represent stronger downbeats in the bassline.
Pending:
- Possible change of specific normal notes into 1/4 notes at 00:21:990 and other similar sections to differentiate between sounds that cut off and sounds that don't. I personally have a hard time distinguishing between them, so I'm looking to confirm these with others before changing them.
- Potential LN dumps in the kiai at 03:17:533 to represent sliding pitches. I'm not personally sure how to do this. Currently awaiting clearer solutions.
- 03:39:476 - Possible change in patterning to better represent melody with the trills rather than trilling for the sake for representing the high-pitched repetitive sounds in the background. Also need clearer solutions and explanations.
DQ to address 1128780#1844469 as this map ranks quite soon and I think the mapper might find it worth the time to see if these points are valid.

Recent Posts
While consistency is important, I personally did not quite value it as much as comfort of playing. These patterns are tailored to be more comfortable in context of the patterns before and after them.
01:08:105 does not experience notable pitch change, so it stays in [34] like the notes before it.
01:13:590 is in the centre as [34] would cause a lot of strain due to the burst after.
01:29:362 is in [12] as otherwise it would be too right-hand based to represent the pitch increase after.
IMO, these changes are unneeded.
I think hitting such a pattern is already hard enough compared to the rest of the map, so increasing the density even more may not be the right move. Once added, the 1/8 notes can feel obtrusive and uncomfortable to play for the intended audience, so I'd rather be on the safe side and ignore the fade.
IMO, the current patterning feels like it's at just the right length to represent the sound without intruding on the next pattern, giving players some time to recover if they fail to adapt in time.
