Change/Progress Log

Normal
1/27: ~50% of first draft complete.
1/28: First draft complete. Timing changed, offset 11430 --> 511.
1/29: Replaced MP3! Resnapped notes that were off, minor flow modifications. Awaiting modding!
2/18: Several beat placement tweaks throughout the map. Play should be smoother and beats should feel less cramped. CS lowered to 3.5. Second draft now in progress!
3/8: "I'm just here so I won't get graveyarded"
3/11: Third draft in progress. This consists of a pretty thorough remap to convert to curved sliders and establish flow.

Hard
1/27: First draft complete, timing pending.
1/28: Timing changed. Offset 11430 --> 511.
1/29: Replaced MP3! Resnapped some notes that were off. Removed some circles contributing to overmapping. Awaiting modding!
2/13: Standardized hit sounds for all timing sections and moved preview point. Second draft now in progress!
2/18: Implemented several modifications suggested by Z4ipher, as well as more standardization and minor circle placement.CS5.5 pending more testing.
2/18 (part 2): Standardized distance for triplets and increased distance between some beats to utilize more of the map without breaking flow. Testing effect sounds on kiai, these are obviously WIP. I lowered CS to 4, but this is WIP as well.
2/20: More sfx tests on kiai (still WIP). Difficulty settings more or less final. Fixed inconsistency with spinner timing, tweaked final two streams for better flow.
2/22: More sfx tests on kiai (settling down on what effects go on which beats). Added spinner to former break. Beat positioning tweaks. Second draft will be complete when sfx work is done.
3/8: "I'm just here so I won't get graveyarded"... just kidding. Spiced the map up by replacing some monotonous sliders with note combos. SFX plans are now finalized and I probably will get around to wrapping it up tomorrow.
3/9: SFX work complete and final! Second draft complete and awaiting modding.

Just decided to do a small mod, but im not very experienced.

Hard:
00:29:420 (1) - start of new combo (remove the comostart one beat afterwards)
00:32:692 (1) - maybe in new combo
00:33:238 (1,2,3,4,1) - in my opinion is better 00:33:238 (1) one rev 3tick - 00:34:329 (2) one rev 2tick - 00:35:147 (3) 2two rev 2tick- 00:36:511 (1) spinner
00:39:783 (1) - 00:55:601 (8) three different beatplacement timings for three times the same melodie, maybe remap so they do feel they are atleast comparable
00:43:056 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - reduce overlap, because reverse arrows block new beats almost fully (doeesnt look that nice)
00:45:783 (8) - more space to the circle before would make timing more obvious, expecially because it is under 3 stars and distance alteration is not used before)
01:17:417 (2,3,4,5,6,1) - overlap doesnt look/play nice
01:20:144 (3,4,5) - have no distance which equals the timings
01:22:871 (6,7,8) - should be equally distanced

01:23:417 (1) - is not in the new time zone (so wrong hitsounds and no kiai) -> Offset 83419
Kiai time hitsounds are too loud - reduce to maybe 80
01:35:144 (6,7) - too close together
01:40:871 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - positioning doesnt fit music (atleast for me :), maybe place more like you did at 02:02:689 (1)

(add end to kiai time after the last circle so AiMod doesnt annoy with it)

In general you can utilize a bit more of the screen for your beatmap, it feels like its all cramped together.
Maybe set the preview point closer to your kiai time, because most peaople dont listen to the music very long (so not until your kiai time right now)

Best wishes for your map

Hi, from my modding queue

General
  1. Add combo colours
  2. Try to make some shapes with your sliders, if they are all straight it's kinda boring for the player
  3. Try to avoid having too much overlaps, it makes the map hard to read
  4. The map seems a bit too random regarding to flow, look at those links if you want some tips: https://osu.ppy.sh/news/61334266941 t/86329
  5. Since you're new to mapping, I'll tell you something helpful that a guy told me when I was starting too:

    Kuki wrote:

also a few general tips for all of you guys cause you're just starting out

reuse placement! if you've put down a few notes, and want to know where to place the next note, put it where one of those notes were! Check some of my maps or relatively any good quality map to see this (and the reusing notes to create structure) method used almost 100% of the time.

make sure you consistently check to see if something flows right. If it's comfortable for you, it's comfortable for the player (most of the time). you need to watch out though, because the more you play your own map you'll get used to bad flow and won't notice it, so make sure you only check once or twice! you don't even need to go into test mode, just play the song in editor and glide your cursor through parts of the map to check them. Also, if you're not already, don't use grid snap, it really limits what you can do creatively.

Reusing (copying and pasting things you've used before in a map) may seem like a lazy way to map, but it actually adds some really nice structure to your map and makes it much better looking overall. Check any good map and you'll see what I mean, it's used often to create symmetrical patterns and just patterns in general.

try to have consistent spacing! the only reason you should change the spacing is for emphasis. if something is quiet and soft, lower the spacing. if something is loud and heavy, make the spacing higher. You should try to find a consistent distance snap to use throughout the whole diff. You don't even need to use distance snap, just use it as a guideline for what to do. check the upper right corner when you have a note selected to see the spacing between the note ahead of it and the note behind it.
Normal
  1. You should really have a consistent DS in the Normal since you don't have an Easy diff or it'll be unrankable, check AIMod to see the issues
  2. 00:15:238 (1,2,1,2) - Avoid those kind of overlaps too, hard to read for beginners
  3. Too much linear/straight and no shapes on the sliders :(
  4. 00:33:238 (1,2) - They have a red dot so it's making the arrow go to the right, kinda weird, delete the red dot
  5. 00:50:147 (1,2) - Nice jump, the beginners are going to love it :^)
  6. 00:49:056 (6) - Don't make too weird shapes for beginners, they'll be confused
  7. 01:23:420 (1,1,1,1,1) - NCs are a bit weird in this part
Hard
  1. Use a higher DS to avoid overlaps and stuff, maybe 1,2 or 1,3 DS
  2. 00:13:874 (2) - You could make a little shape to flow better with 00:13:601 (1) -
  3. 00:14:965 (4) - Having too much repeats can be a bit confusing and it's a little bit too easy for a hard diff, maybe do like here 00:13:874 (2,3) - so you don't miss the strong beat at 00:15:783 too, you could also blanket 00:14:692 (3,4) - (https://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Blanket_Combos)
  4. 00:16:601 (2) - Fix overlap
  5. 00:17:420 (3,4) - Make them more parallel
  6. 00:19:056 (5,6,1) - Why is the spacing so low here compared to 00:18:511 (4,5) - they aren't spaced equally in the timeline so the player should see it with a higher spacing
  7. 00:20:420 (2,4) - Avoid overlap and do the same as 00:20:420 (2,3) - for the pattern (4)
  8. 00:22:874 (5,1,2,3) - They are way too close and you should avoid this overlap
  9. 00:23:965 (3,4,5) - Bad overlap again
  10. 00:23:965 (3,4,5) - Bad overlap and collides with 00:26:692 (1) -
  11. 00:28:329 (4,1) - They are so close even though there is a huge gap between them in the timeline
  12. 00:29:420 (1,2,3) - Fix spacing
  13. 00:31:056 (5,6,7) - Weird flow
  14. 00:31:874 (7,1) - Too close
  15. 00:33:238 (1) - Add a shape
  16. 00:34:329 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - Too close and it causes bad overlaps, space them more since until now there are no hard parts in your hard diff (but don't go too crazy with the spacing lol, maybe 1,5 DS or something for that part would be enough)
  17. 00:39:783 (1,2,3,4) - Too close
  18. 00:42:511 (6) - Not sure if fast sliders are allowed in hard diffs but you can keep them for now I guess
  19. 00:42:783 (7,1,2) - Too close
  20. 00:43:056 (1,2) - Bad overlap makes it really hard to read
  21. 00:43:329 (2,3) - Weird flow
  22. 00:43:601 (3,4) - Too close
  23. 00:43:874 (4,5,6,7) - ^
  24. 00:45:238 (7,8) - ^
  25. 00:45:783 (8,1) - Your spacing was way too low until now and here there is a big jump lol, kinda weird maybe nerf it a bit
  26. 00:46:329 (1,2) - Too close
  27. 00:50:147 (1,2,3) - ^
  28. 00:52:056 (5,1,2) - ^
  29. 00:59:420 (1,3) - Fix overlap, they aren't parallel
  30. 01:06:238 (2) - Make a stream instead
  31. 01:06:238 (2,3,4,5,6) - Too close again (I won't point out the spacing errors anymore, try to fix them)
  32. 01:09:783 (6,1) - Bad overlap
  33. 01:20:965 (6,2,3) - ^
  34. 01:23:147 (8,1,3) - ^
  35. 01:28:874 (6,7,8,9) - Make a square
  36. 01:43:056 (6,8,9) - Bad overlap
  37. 01:58:874 (2,3,4) - ^
  38. 02:13:874 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - ^
I don't see songs like that often lol, your map seems a bit too much centered and it's making a lot of bad overlaps, try to use all the playfield
Good luck! ;)

SPOILER
*Reduce sample volume, 100% is way too high
*Disable countdown
*All your sliders are straight and flow is inconsistent... try working on this (:

[Normal]

SPOILER
00:13:874 (2) - It looks like if it was closer to (1) https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4705054
00:14:692 (3,2) - Bad overlap
00:17:420 (1) - Spacing
00:19:601 (1) - ^
00:20:147 - Forgot some NCs here ?
00:21:783 (4) - Spacing
00:23:420 (7,9) - Overlap
00:26:692 (1,2) - Hard to read for beginners
00:27:783 (3,6) - Overlap
00:29:420 (6,7) - ^
00:29:420 (6) - spacing
00:31:601 (10) - ^
00:31:601 (10,11) - overlap
00:33:238 (1) - Move to (204;132)
00:34:329 (2) - CTRL+H then move for a smoother flow ? https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4705084
00:35:420 (3) - I advise replacing it by a 1/2 slider + a circle https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4705090
00:42:511 (1) - I'd move it to make (5) better looking
00:46:329 (1,2,3,4) - You already used this ): also (4) is too far away
00:51:783 (4) - Jump
00:52:874 (1) - spacing
00:53:965 (3) - Move it to (256;192)
00:57:783 (3,5) - overlap
01:00:511 (6,7) - Too much curve + jump
01:05:965 - All this part sounds weird imo but I don't really know how to fix it...
01:25:601 (1) - spacing/overlaps
01:27:783 (1) - spacing
01:28:874 (1) - I see no reason to place a spinner here ?
01:31:601 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - It is a bit boring and repetitive
From here to end : There is no real problem except few spacing issues and overlaps (see AiMod - CTRL+ SHIFT + A) but the flow is very irregular and could be improved to fit with Normal. You're changing direction everytime for no real reason ):

[Hard]

SPOILER
00:14:692 (3) - Move to (248;196)
00:14:965 (4) - 2 repeats makes it a bit unpredictable. Place a circle at 00:15:783 -
00:19:601 (6) - spacing
00:22:874 (5,3) - overlap
00:23:965 (3,4) - overlap
00:28:056 (3) - place it under (2)
00:29:420 (1) - spacing
00:32:692 (1) - unpredictable, it makes the flow weird to follow
00:42:511 (6) - spacing
00:42:783 (7) - unreadable
00:45:783 (8) - spacing
00:46:329 (1) - this jump is exagerated
00:52:874 (1) - spacing
01:05:965 - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4705191 here's what I advise
01:13:601 (3,4,5) - try making it parallel
01:14:692 (1) - this jump is exagerated, also I think it's a bad idea to repeat the same pattern twice :/
01:23:420 (1) - spacing
01:24:511 (3) - overlap
01:25:601 (5) - blanket https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/4705208
01:26:692 (1,2,3,4) - spacing is very irregular
01:28:874 (6) - overlap with (4)
01:37:874 (4) - spacing
01:46:329 (4,5,6) - again the same and the same pattern, don't you think it starts to be a bit boring ? :p
01:50:692 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - ^
02:07:874 (2) - spacing
02:05:692 (2) - spacing
02:06:783 (2) - spacing (etc)
02:13:874 (3) - this jump is exagerated
02:14:692 (4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - hard to read and even to follow lol

That's all, good luck ! (:
Kibbleru
the major problems with ur hard diff.
spacing is randomly inconsistent
sometimes u use 00:13:601 (1,2,3,4) - 1.2 sv ish then u switch to 0.8 or something 00:23:420 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) -
also u have alot of overlaps 00:20:420 (2,4) - 00:22:874 (5,3) - which makes the map look very messy and hard to read
