tfw modding something above my playing level aaaa
00:07:065 (10) and 00:09:351 (14) - change to d; the section from 00:02:494 to 00:11:636 is pretty calm and passive, so it doesn't warrant the amount of variety created by having 10 and 14 be ks
00:13:208 (1) - change to k to contrast pitch-wise with the following note
00:17:922 (18) - change to d since the pitch is decreasing from 17. this also makes 19 seem a lot less awkward, as it would otherwise stick out as a solo d
00:24:922 (48,49) - ctrl+g. there's a distinct beat on the 1/1, so the hitsounding sounds out of place changing every 1/2
00:47:494 (210) - change to k, this shouldn't be d as its pitch is higher compared with the notes before and after it
00:48:494 (215) - change to k, and
00:49:065 (218) - change to d, both of these help follow the melody
00:57:994 (4) - change to d, the voice deepens so a k doesn't fit as well
01:48:422 (44) - change to k, the synth doesn't drop in pitch continuously through this stream so the stream itself doesn't need to be as straightforward as kkddddk
01:51:065 - about the stream here, the synth goes down and up in pitch; maybe the stream could be made somehow so that the 1/6 triple at 01:51:636 (77,78,79) is ddd? although granted the current stream is probably better for playability. i wouldn't know lol
02:17:922 (33) - this feels out of place as a k, change to d
02:48:208 to 03:24:779 - not a suggestion but the streams in this section are really fun to play
orz idk what to change about the streams anywhere, they sound fine
04:13:351 - put the 1/6ths at the end of the stream instead of the beginning, it would be cool to slow down after the previous two 1/6ths quads then speed up into the spinner
04:38:922 (143) - this can be k since the synth doesn't stop here
all suggestions after this are for following pitch, feel free to blanket deny >.<
05:17:065 (6,7,8) - change to k d d, this should be fine since it still contrasts with the k k d at 05:19:351 (15,16,17)
05:18:779 (13,14) - ctrl+g
05:21:065 (22) - change to d, the pitch decreases from the previous note
05:21:636 (24,26) - ctrl+g
05:23:065 (30,31) - ctrl+g
05:24:065 (34,35) - ctrl+g
05:25:351 (39,40) - ctrl+g
05:25:922 (41) - change to k
05:26:351 (43) - change to d
05:27:636 (48,49) - ctrl+g
05:28:636 (52,53) - ctrl+g
05:30:779 (60,61,62) - k k d
05:31:351 (63,64) - ctrl+g
05:32:494 (67,68,69,70,71) - reverse all colors
love the map though, good luck ranking this!
Ok I apply all but last 2.Shyguy wrote:
Hey Backfire, mod request from in-game PM.VolumeThis map has a lot of calm sections (that are still a bit loud) in the beginning that lead into even louder more hardcore ones. Your SV usage signifies this well, but I still think you could have a couple of volume changes to add more emphasis.
00:02:494 to 00:25:351 - 70%? While the difference is slight compared to your default 75% volume, it's still a difference that would be somewhat noticeable.
00:39:065 to 00:47:922 - ^
I found it a bit weird that you had all the volume points at the end very 'decked out' compared to the beginning. I just think that while the details I pointed out here are small, they'll make some noticeable difference, even if it's small.Taikocalypse01:16:636 (159) - You have this note mapped as a don here, but as a kat at 04:38:922 (143). I would recommend that you either change the first one to be a kat or the second one to be a don. (I think just making it a kat would be better in my opinion.)
02:41:136 (41) - This part seems a bit random when comparing it to all the simple 1/2 patterns that came before it. I think I'd delete the second note in the stream, and make fill 02:45:708 with a don instead. I feel as if having the ending of the calm part more dense makes sense because I believe it signifies that a strong part of the song is coming up more fluently.
03:41:351 (62,63,64,65,66,67,68) - Instead of this being kddkddk, try kdddkdk? When you use patterns similar to this, they're usually styled as ddkddkd. To see it as kddkddk looks and feels a little unsettling to me. This is a stylistic thing (and my opinion of course), but I think it's worth a look at least.
Overall, this map is extremely fun. I felt as if I were just nitpicking things, so I left it a bit short. Good work!
