Why did you decide to use completely different hitsounds for this difficulty? Hitsounds that don't go with the song at all. You're better off just sticking to default soft hitsounds instead of trying to implement all these different sounds, it just lowers the quality of the map really. Hello! Returning a favor for all the hard work you already have done for me

General

  1. Some wav files are a lot longer than needed, consider cutting the silent part of the files.
  2. The snowflake in the background rotates but it's barely noticeable. Consider letting it rotate a little faster
  3. Sound quality is "meh" but okay I guess. However the sudden cut at the end is really not okay. I don't know where you got the mp3 from, but I'm sure there is a longer fade out here than the sudden end.
  4. Hitsounds are also "meh", because I don't think they represent things of the song itself. Like these 00:05:736 (1,2,3) - , they represent the piano (I think it's a piano) but it doesn't seem like the right hitsound to use.

00:05:736 (1,2,3) - These sounds are very soft and calm, so I think the distance between the circle should be small instead of large, otherwise you'll create a forced diffiulty.

00:11:432 (1) - (Optional) you could make a 1/12 return slider starting on the blue tick and ending here to represent the piano (it gives a nice touch in my opinion)
00:12:951 (1,2) - Same as the start, but if you don't change it, consider rotating this or something because this is 2 times exactly the same :(
00:21:875 (8) - The vocals you are trying to map actually is meant to be on the downbeat, not the blue tick. there is a delay she uses to reach that note. Either map a circle on the downbeat or make the previous circle a slider so it will end on the downbeat (that will represent the voice better, but it won't give emphasizes on the downbeat)
00:29:281 (2) - Consider positioning it somewhere closer to the previous slider and further away from the next one. The jump feels forced and there isn't really a very strong beat in the music to have such a large jump mapped to it.
00:33:837 (8) - place it closer to the previous circle and further away from the next slider to emphasize the downbeat.

00:08:774 (5) - The slider end is a strong beat, thus an offbeat slider like this feels very wrong. Consider switching the slider and next circle (on the timeline)
00:03:837 (8) - NC instead of the next slider
00:14:281 (3) - I recommend just using circles. Also there is a whistle on the slider body, remove that one if you are going to keep the slider
00:23:584 (4) - Make this a slider or add an extra circle to represent the voice. Also spacing might be confusing here because of the distance and gap on the timeline (I know you like old maps, but it should be readable)
00:25:473 (2,3) - Barely hitting objects like these look pretty bad to me, but it's up to you
01:08:764 (1) - This circle seems out of place. It doesn't make such a nice-looking overlap and the distance is quite small from the previous and next object. Consider moving it
01:10:283 - please map this sound
01:19:027 (1) - please do the same as the burai diff, make a circle here and THEN map the spinner

Unreal's Advanced

  1. The hitsound volume changes do not make sense. The first part is 50%, while the kiai is 30%, while it is a lot louder than the soft intro. Also the 50% volume near the end is unnecessary and again, no reason to make it louder. Lower the volume there as well.
00:23:205 (2) - The slider end is a strong beat, and I think the slider should start here instead to represent that.
00:23:964 (3) - Same
00:26:243 (2) - please make this a circle followed by a slider instead. It feels wrong to ignore the vocals
00:38:394 (2,3) - Same as 00:23:205 (2) - . It doesn't feel right
00:41:432 (2,3) - ^
00:44:470 (2) - You also ignore the vocals here, and you should really map it. Change this to a circle followed by a slider for example.
00:59:660 (2,3) - Again, the offbeat sliders don't fit. Make the first slider a circle, then a slider on the white tick and then a circle
01:01:369 - Since you used more 1/4 in this diff, adding a circle here would fit to represent the voice

Either map a circle on the downbeat or make the previous circle a slider so it will end on the downbeat (that will represent the voice better, but it won't give emphasizes on the downbeat) I see what you mean, but the only thing reasonable that I can think of at this moment is to add a circle in-between 7 and 8, but I actually prefer what I already have over this.
00:29:281 (2) - Consider positioning it somewhere closer to the previous slider and further away from the next one. The jump feels forced and there isn't really a very strong beat in the music to have such a large jump mapped to it. Yeah, I kind of thought it was a little awkward too. Thanks a bunch for the mod! :) I appreciate your feedback. Although it might appear that I'm really stubborn and stiffnecked, I really don't mean to be. I just don't see some of the changes in your mod as very reasonable. But yeah, ego_17, Gordon123, _Unreality_, and I really need to get together to figure out what to do about custom hitsounds, hitsounds applied to the maps, kiai time, and the like.

Also, can anybody comment on the copy/paste section of [burai]? I'm not satisfied with just copy/paste and would like to know if anybody else feels the same way.

  1. The hitsound volume changes do not make sense. The first part is 50%, while the kiai is 30%, while it is a lot louder than the soft intro. Also the 50% volume near the end is unnecessary and again, no reason to make it louder. Lower the volume there as well.

Difficulties looked at: Gordon's Simple, Unreal's Advanced, Challenging, burai

General

- I think your offsets are a little off. Try adjusting all timing points by -14, e.g. your red timing point should be 786 instead of 800.

Gordon's Simple

- Try to have your combos start on the downbeat (big white tick). For example:
  • - the new combo at 00:04:597(1) isn't necessary
    - start a new combo at 00:06:875(3)
    I know it isn't always possible to have a new combo on the downbeat such as when you have a slider end on a downbeat, and at other times, it does make sense to start a new combo on a beat that isn't the downbeat (an example of this is at 01:11:432). However, try to keep your combo count similar to each other, and put new combos where they make sense.
- I think a clap at 00:29:660(4) makes more sense than a whistle. Try it out for yourself and see if you like it
- ^ at 00:35:736(4)
- ^ at 00:54:724
- The slider at 00:33:444(3) and slider at 00:34:217(4) overlap each other in a way that it looks a little weird. Maybe try positioning it like this?
- The whistle at 00:57:002(1) doesn't make sense in my opinion. Consider removing the hitsound.
- Add a clap hitsound at 01:00:040(3)

Unreal's Advanced

- Please change the CS from 5 to 4. Having the circle size go from 3 (in Gordon's Simple) to 5 can be pretty jarring
- Delete the slider you have at 00:02:304(3). Then copy/paste the slider from 00:00:800(1) here, then flip it horizontally (Ctrl + H) and reverse it (Ctrl + G_
- Start a new combo at 00:03:828(5) instead of at 00:04:583(1)
- Maybe you can redesign the sliders at 00:43:331(1,2) so they blanket each other?
  • - Note: if you decide to do this one, you're probably going to want to move 00:45:610(3) to (x348,y252)
Overall, I like the flow and feel of this difficulty, but it's not exactly the prettiest, in my opinion. You could turn try and some of your sliders into blankets, like the example I gave you

Challenging

- I think having a 1/2 slider at 00:18:648(2,3) will make more sense than having two notes
- Missing a beat at 01:16:369. Consider adding in a note here?
- The hitsounds (hitnormal)at 01:17:129 are a little quiet in my opinion. Consider boosting the volume up to 50%?

burai

- There's no beat at 00:21:875(7). Move this note to 00:21:686, where there is a beat
- Your hitsounds from 00:23:205 to 01:13:711 are too quiet, in my opinion. Consider boosting the volume up to 50%
- ^ at 01:17:129. Consider boosting up the volume to 40% or 50%
- Why is the spinner at the end of this song longer than the spinner on the other difficulties? It's a little redundant, in my opinion. Consider shortening the length of this spinner so that it ends on 1:23:584

birai allowed me to edit his diff so i shortened spinner and changed volume in the end - so it now more similar to other diffs

Gordon's Simple

  1. I'm here to mess up you're (3,3,3,3) in HP, OD, CS and AR respectively. Why? because this diff isn't that hard to have a OD 3 which means that the diff manage more difficult patterns. As you know, you mapped this song into 1/1 sliders and circles and the star rating is almost 1.20 stars. So for that reason, I'd suggest you to set the OD rather in 2 than 3. and same goes with the AR. I didn't suggest you the HP drain because that item it's up to you.
  2. 00:00:800 (1) I don't know but the shape of this slider isn't 100% symmetric, please.
  3. Also, I need to point out an issue that it's really important on Easy diff. As you know, it's unlike seen combos higher than 8 in this easiest diffs because it might confused beginner players because of the playability and the AR. So, in that order of ideas, I'd suggest you to put NC every two measures which means add NC and remove Nc in this parts:
  4. 00:06:875 (6) Add NC.
  5. 00:07:635 (1) Remove NC.
  6. 00:09:913 (4) Add NC.
  7. 00:47:129 (4) Add NC.

Sorry for the long wait. I will honor this mod because - when you requested it - it was still pending.

Simple
00:08:774 (2) - Remove this note because the intro is really laid back and also there are other spots where you could do this in the intro but skipped over. More or less a consistancy thing for me.
00:17:129 (4) - Add a finish for a stronger accent to the note.
00:20:546 (3) - Sounds off because of the vocal starting one tick before and the instrument blending into the vocal. Might cause issues for new people.
00:26:622 (2) - Maybe accent with a whistle to help this stand out more because it is already a very strong beat.
00:47:508 - Why not add a note here to help follow what you are mapping already in this area?

Another thing I found that sounded weird is that the .mp3 sounds like it was cut. I do not mind if it was, but you might want to add that to the tags if it is cut.

00:12:951 (1,2,3,4,5) - yeah this is retarded. At the very least CTRL + H it to make it a coherent pattern rather than just a lazy copy-paste.
00:22:065 (9,1) - this jump doesn't really work since the slider is pointed towards the northeast corner, and there's no real strong beat on the blue tick, so it's just awkwardly larger than it should be.
00:29:660 (3) - would be nice to CTRL + G this slider to fix the spacing issues while still making this a good pattern.

The advanced has a LOT of 1/2 with some 1/4s while this has a lot of 2/1+ sliders with the occasional 1/2 (which seems overmapped because o how easy other parts are)

It could use work but it's an okay start.
