[Archived] Weird text/slider bug

scrolling through my list and this happens



this is the second time it has happened and it ends in a black screen with a massive memory leak.

I don't know how this happens neither.

as MillhioreF mentioned in chat, it's probably some texture corruption of some sort with openGL.
This reminds me of the missing skin elements bug in skin select: t/117064

I switched back to DirectX and changed some settings on my graphics card to make it more safe than it was before. I don't know what the cause was but it happened three times in a matter of two days and never happened before. It has yet to happen again.

If this is still happening in DirectX, then your graphics card is probably throwing a fit. Not sure what to do about it other than fully replace the card D:

I have a brand new gtx660 and up until today osu! worked "fine" but now since the latest update today I have this same bug.

I use directx and the card works great in sim city, starcraft 2, trackmania nations2, arma2, dota2, tdu2, cs2

I've tested and it also bugs with other videocards of nvidia, so it's not an issue of this particular videocard. I use the latest WHQL drivers obtained through windows update.


edit: the bug is different for me because when I go to the song select screen (by clicking at the right place blind where the play button should be) then the bug is gone. I see that @OP it still bugs there, but not for me.


However when I go back to the main screen, still bugged there:

I had this when I was using a AMD graphics card, so the issue isn't hardware based it's software.

The bug has been fixed here, no idea why it was happening but for some reason everything is back to normal here luckily

edit: 30 mins after this post: the bug is different, just the osu logo and its menu is not rendering at all, cursor behavior is normal (it can be moved and it doesn't leave a permanent mark all over)
This bug was after I accidentally clicked "get more skins" which shut down osu! and gave me the osume.exe with the legacy skins, I started osu! directly from the updater because I don't need any of these old skins (why doesn't it simply open a browser window of the skins forum? ah well)


Edit2: this bug now happens every time when I start osu! after it asks me to enter my login and password (because of my policy to never remember any of my passwords on any machine of anything, email, and whatever too) osu! goes from full screen into windowed mode, to give me this dialog, and that's when the bug starts.

I can't replicate the same thing, but the automatic switch from fullscreen to windowed did indeed trigger a bug.

Could be happening because of a resolution mismatch. I can't set my native resolution as a fullscreen resolution any more, though...
