Instead of using the slowdown algorithm that keeps songs at the same pitch, just use the slower/faster playback algorithm that lowers the pitch when played slower and increases it when played faster. There are many beatmaps with songs I like that I can't really play because they are far too difficult (even at half time). It would take me literally years of grinding to reach the skill to play them and enjoy them. I just don't have that time to dedicate unfortunately. If I could slow the song down to whatever tempo I need to play it at my current skill level I would get so much more enjoyment out of this game.
Also I have tried using the beatmap editor to achieve this but 1) it has a bunch of hotkeys I need to manage 2) I get no definitive timing/accuracy feedback on my hits and 3) I don't get a score to see my progress over time.
I think this would be a pretty simple feature to implement as well. Please consider it!
