Shortening "osu.ppy.sh/ss/xxxxxxx" links

Ok, since links like t/35580 and p/505682 are now shortening, I wish screenshot links can be shortened as well. Some people use /ss/ links to provide screenshots to their mods, so making them fill less space would be nice.

Edit:
I want every http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/392824 link to look like ss/392824

Well, /ss/ is already kind of short.
Note that /t/ used to be /viewtopic=XX. /p/ is a similar case.

He means for the forum to automatically parse http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/392697 as ss/392697.

^That's how you should be doing screenshots for mods if you don't want to post to be super long (replace the <> with [ ], of course). While this feature certainly wouldn't be a bad thing, there are very few situations where it'd actually take effect since it's expected that you use image tags when posting images.

EDIT: I do support this, though, since it makes sense.

are you looking to shorten a hyperlink or shorten the code required for embedding an image? For the latter, a new bbcode tag could be added:
[ss]UID[/ss]

Pretty sure he was looking to shorten the hyperlink. [img] is already just 3 letters, after all.

I understood that from the get-go, but I'm still questioning the use of this. Image tags should be used for images. There should be no need to shorten /ss links because they shouldn't be posted as just links in the first place.

Oh, do you mean in-game? If so, you should've specified that in the first place! Do [osu.ppy.sh/ss/xxxxxxxx FREE CAKE!] for now if that's the case. I see no real reason for them to not be shortened in-game, aside from it making harder to click on said links.

No, I meant on the forums. And now please explain me, WHY can't I use links here? Why have I to use [img]?

In my opinion, extended box fills too much space (because the image is fullscreen, too big for image tag), but little link is tiny and handy.
