Can the mapper be given the ability to revive graveyarded maps on his or her own? The mapper does not currently need a reason to have a BAT revive it, so I don't see the reason to have the extra step.

No, just no.

1. It's easy enough to get a BAT in IRC.
2. People could revive their crappy maps all the time which get graveyarded by BATs for a reason. (Hello, Hex, Hello, Rodeia)

Then those threads could be simply locked.

I realize now that this isn't the top priority for OSU, but it makes sense to me.

I prefer the aska BAT routine also I don't think thread lock will work...

I don't really think this is necessary. There is a BAT in chat almost 24/7 and most will help you out near instantly.
