Could be very profitable to users wanting to obtain a fancier nickname for displaying. While dashes are allowed, tildes oftentimes give a better look.
While I personally wouldn't use that, I see it being very handy. Shouldn't also backfire, since the tilde isn't a reserved character even in Windows file paths, let alone in a string in seemingly every component of osu! stack and/or infrastructure.
