Well hello there! You see this is actually my brothers account but he never plays osu!. And we being mortal enemies (family...) he stole the name i wanted to change it to when i donate! So is there any way to delete accounts? Much obliged if possible.

You could have actually done that right now.

But then you logged onto his account.

Causing him to be considered "active" again, making him unable to be deleted.

Nice going.

Actually i started osu! on my laptop and his account was logged on. So it was already too late.

Keep using his account and tell him to feck off or come up with a different name. That's all that I can suggest.

Nope! You'd have to wait a looooong time for it to be able to be deleted, and then you'd have to ask for it.

Feel free to kick him in the balls, but nah, you won't be able to delete the account he made.

Also, I highly advise getting off of his account because logging into somebody else's account is probably a bannable offense of some sort.

accounts are rarely ever deleted. Using someone else's account, assuming that someone else never plays osu! any more, is bannable (similar to having multiple accounts but slightly worse since it's like wearing someone else's skin)

names can be relinquished without having the account deleted iirc; there's criteria explaining it on the name-change page or something

I never played on it. Only on the forum. I will check the page and see now. Thanks awp.

Why wasn't Cookiezi banned then?
In The osu!monthly #4 he said:
About two years later, my brother found osu!. “Cookiezi” was actually my brother’s account;
he played for about a week or two, quit, and I continued with his account.
Not that I ever want him to be banned.

beats me. I don't keep track of these things. Maybe there's a certain quota of "give a shit" that needs to be filled before an account is considered compromised. ie if you take your sibling's account because they made it, played for an hour and buggered off, chances are nobody would know or care.

The one-account rule still remains in effect

this "give a shit" quotient is the underlying basis behind all of our moderation, actually. we don't care about a vast majority of supposedly bannable offenses until they reach a certain threshold where they start to cause issues

even though it's against the rules, just having a multi, for example, is common enough that nobody gives a shit and so they're not dealt with (plus the hassle of proving it's not a sibling makes them give even less). using multis to, say, get all of #1-6 on a scoreboard, now that probably gets them and maybe your main banned ^^

Always ban the most active account, I say. Punks these days don't know proper respect /cane wave
