Using my secret algorithm, I calculated that this thread is 100/100 stupid.
Mukku
This thread isn't stupid. I found alots of hard maps that I didn't know about.
boat
If to exclude the maps part.
silmarilen
renard too good

to anyone wondering why deltafox miku is rated retardly high it is because that user has the only no mod pass of http://osu.ppy.sh/p/beatmap?b=35015&m=0&nm=1#scores and at 104266 plays and only 1 modless pass it went apeshit and gave them a multiplier of 1.5970802965681126391598883980224e+97 atleast according to my drugged up algorithm
Gon
how did he even pass with 230+ misses when there's nofail 100+ misses everywhere
JappyBabes
^Wasn't legit is how.
Mukku
No, he just played the part better where EVERYONE else fails. It's in the beginning where circles start flying all over the place.
JappyBabes
Find me literally anyone that can pass that part and a replay. I find it hard to believe that someone with barely any plays and total score, was able to pass an unreadable section but still only achieve a 35 combo<which is coincidentally how many notes are in the jump section.
thelewa
val0108 can pass it

my word is absolute and thus I don't need a replay to prove it.
Wishy
val0108 could pass it after tons of plays.
Wishy
He played that map a trillion times though + he is a pro.
Glazbom
Renard XD

I don't see why he wouldn't go for a 850ish combo run w/out nofail than.
Nyu_old2
There's no way that's legit. This user is level 31 and doesn't even have >14 plays on that map based off what his profile says.

First spam isn't too hard to pass. 2nd one though...
Wishy
Not only you pass it pretty much randomly by force playing it hundreds of times, but then getting a high combo is really damn hard plus iirc you got the same shit pattern near the end making that not only extremely hard but boring since it'll take less plays to FC Airman on FL than achieving that. (Not literally I guess)

wow.. really? No. It just takes skill. Skill comes from playing a lot of maps and practising that way. Not by playing the same old map over and over again. I bet a player better than anyone else right now, can get #1 on a few tries.
Your example was terrible btw.
Wishy
That TAG4 has about 3 or 4 parts that are not only impossible to FC but also almost impossible to read since you have no follow point and there isn't any kind of understandable pattern. Everyone that was able to somehow clear it achieved that by repeatedly playing the map over and over again till they could somehow remember a few hits and survive the death part.

val0108 played those TAG4 maps for a REALLY long time and even by doing that + practicing the hard part@edit he never cleared the map afaik.
theowest
Nope. You are wrong. You can still quickly see what you should click on in order to pass.
You'll understand when you reach this level. Did you just say FC now? I thought we were talking about passing.

oh and it's very easy to pass when you're playing with easy mod. Now to see stuff with it requires practice.

I've passed the first part with AR9, but that's just because I suck with low ARs. Now CXu for example can pass the first part without any change in the beatmap. That's pure skill.

I've also seen Cookiezi pass the first part but he always failed on the second one though.

How do you pass this crazy spam part? You simply play it like it was a stream and hit as many of the closest notes as possible. If you hit enough, you will pass.
Wishy
You're forgetting those players played that map A LOT, and yeah spamming can give you a lucky pass but that's just luck.

Then again it doesn't really change anything, I said it is stupidly boring to try to get #1 on that map on no-mod since it's not only really hard (but almost impossible) to clear, but also it is NOT easy to then get a REALLY high combo, since even if you can pass that impossible part one out of a lot of times, then you got to get the pro combo which is not easy even for pros.
theowest
Spamming? It's streaming the stream that is shown before you. But of course, it's impossible to get them all.

Lucky? I pass it 6/10 times with AR9. More like I'm unlucky if I don't pass. There's no luck in this game.

I haven't played the map more than 10 times and it's not like I've been spending them on that crazy part.
Wishy
Who cares about how you passed it after modding it?

Tell me how often you can clear the map playing the ranked version, and I mean CLEARING the map not passing a single part (the easiest one) of those 3/4 you have to.

And I consider luck hitting/clearing some part you CLEARLY can't read/understand at all and all you do is try to get some random hits to survive. I'd say skill if you could actually read it and get a good run. But well it is somehow true there is no luck in this game.

I'm not skillful enough.
Wishy
I consider val0108 a VERY skillful player and even after a lot of drilling he could never (as far as I've seen) clear the map, add to that the fact you need not only to clear it but to get a high combo to achieve #1, then yeah it's STUPIDLY hard to do so, even if you're a super pro.
theowest
He's not that good (compared to many other top players). He just tried hard enough to reach the top rank. Like any pro player would do in order to get any top rank.

You were saying it takes retries, rather than skill to reach such rank.

keep in mind that he's playing with Easy mod. This makes everything easier for him. Those who don't, and only use no fail and can still reach high ranks are the real pros in the picture.

Just look at CXu here

Just another example of a very hard TAG4 map.
Lunah
is almost impossible pass Utage wa Eien ni ~SHD~ [TAG4] without mods, actually no one in osu! is able to pass it
there are 2 parts like this just saying

Maybe using a touchscreen learning positions and asking friends to help you clicking lol

Doesn't matter. Still proves more tries doesn't equal better rank.

I don't want to discuss with you anymore. The fact that you mentioned luck in this rhythm based game just makes me headdesk.
Wishy
I've cleared some maps by pure luck by pretty much doing random stupid movements and streaming 270 BPM like a retard to at least get the hits and don't die because of 99 misses. I consider that LUCK since I can't do it by properly reading the map and following the rhythm.

And yeah more plays ends up equaling a better rank since you improve your score more and more/get play till you get a good run overall and SS every damn stream instead of getting SS on half of them.
theowest
But you couldn't pass them unless you didn't have that skill right?
You pressed on those keys to hit those notes. It wasn't random luck.
Wishy
I couldn't pass them because I couldn't read them on my first play, so I just spammed z/x and moved my cursor really imprecisely without really thinking and got some luck. Then I tried on my second play doing the same and failed, third try too, fourth play tried to play properly and failed, thus meaning my first play was pretty much luck.
theowest
Your concentration and mood changed over time. Every input came from your eyes, ears, physical inputs, brain, to your fingers so you could press them. You pressed those notes. You are subconsciously impressing yourself.
Wishy
I'm so good.
theowest
There is no such thing as luck. There is only adequate or inadequate preparation to cope with a statistical universe.
CXu
This conversation lol.

You're good at this game with skills, and sometimes, you're just lucky with one particular play
Wishy
So he says.
