Current veto system https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/People/Beatmap_Nominators/Beatmap_Veto

This proposal does not intend to make changes to the way discussions on qualified maps take place, both during qualified and post disqualification.

A major issue with vetos is that it keeps the map relatively obscured from speculation to where it would have received much more attention if it had been pushed into qualified section. It's this lack of speculation that is detrimental. Every BNs has their own unique values and do not and can not, speak on behalf of all other experienced mappers, but more importantly the active playerbase.

Maps are made to be playable content for the playerbase but a large portion players are unaware of the affairs that happen within the mapping community, thus do not get a chance to add their input when a veto takes place on a pending map. A big part of the qualified section is for a map to obtain feedback from the vast community, so why do we withhold maps from reaching this position? Vetos will always have this problem so long as they exist*. I believe abolishing vetos and having a map's (potential) issues garner more eyes and opinions would be a step forward in the right direction

*and also come attached with other slightly concerning issues as well (drama, targeting, flaming etc.)
