So....

Who of you out there is using this lovley program?

I have been using it for a while and i love it.

The projekt im working on now dont have a name but it about Koto who is the kings lifeguard.
She is also a close friend to the king so when she finds out that he have a deadly sickness she
desides to find a cure and then she ends up trying to save the world from a war between demons
and humans

Now then write what youre projects is and discuss away!

My project? Staying as far away from this program as possible, along with Game Maker and Multimedia Fusion.

If I really wanted to make my own game, I'd code it myself for two reasons:
1: The graphics engine sucks.
2: Every RPG Maker game is restricted to the same, dull gameplay mechanics.

And since 99% of these games suck, I'm not going to bother trying this one out. That's another thing you can add to the list: The program's generally bad reputation.

ARGH I need to buy that flux capacitor. D:

Also, there are lots of alternatives to coding everything from scratch, although they all involve simplified coding.

could you give an example of a easy program?

I'd recommend Quest3D if you're willing to sail the seven seas. It's pretty much a drag-and-drop version of C++, which makes coding a whole lot easier. Audiosurf is a good example of what you can make with it.

However, if you're not willing to create your own characters and environments, compose your own music and come up with a decent story on top of using something more advanced as a platform (Basically, spend a lot of time making the game), don't bother. :/

The german community made some really awesome games. Yes, I am serious.

They are still making those things?
Yeah, if you want it to be better stay away from them.

Nah, it's more like, RMXP was there for a very long time and VX just came along...Though it's more of a remake of 2000 and 2003 than a real engine thing. :|

RPG Maker sucks for making RPGs, but you can make some really interesting puzzle games with it.

As for game-making software, I'd recommend either monodevelop or Visual Studio 2005/2008 - the Visual Studio IDE took me a little bit to get used to, but once you get used to it, it's pretty nice.

(In all seriousness, it's far more rewarding to write your own engine from scratch)

Yeah, but if you don't know how to write code, it will be harder and time consuming.
