I played Friday Night Funkin and wanted to play some more rhythm games. Then I remembered this game called osu! my friend showed me like 6 years ago that I had fun playing.

My first introduction was when some people were playing it at my friend's party some 12 years ago. I played it for a few minutes and didn't like it much nor did I have any appreciation for rhythm games in general (oof)

But I started playing arcade rhythm games about 4 years ago and became really good with them, then COVID hit — and about a month ago one of my friends asked me to play Osu with her and I've been hooked on it since.

Sometimes I wonder where I'd be with Osu if I'd given it more than a half-assed glance at that party.

I think I googled "anime rhythm games" or something along those lines.
.. this was 12 years ago so the earliest thing I can remember about osu is playing 'Bad Apple' and 'U.N. Owen Was Her?'

yes, I started playing when I was 13 and am now in my mid twenties. I am an oldie. :<

I found it through a friend and I seen a few YouTube videos of people playing it.

One night, I was going threw a dark bamboo forest and suddenly I saw a piece of bamboo glowing, I was scared and frightened. But I feel like the bamboo is attracting me with his power. I slowly and steadily start moving toward the glowing bamboo. After reaching to the bamboo my hand automatically punched the bamboo and break it, inside the bamboo there wassssss Call of Dutyyyyyyy. But my pc is weak and can't run it so instead of cod I start playing osu

The story is pretty complex. I know most of you will not believe it and that's fine

It was late at night, I was doing overtime at my job and since my work was complete I started heading toward my home. I was pretty tired. On the way home I saw a bar and since I was tired I decided to enter. I sit down and ask for a drink. Near me there was a another person sitting beside me. We ordered the same drink and which start a conversation between us, going from drinks convo he started talking about games
The convo goes like that

Unknown: I like to play rhythm games in my free time.
Manish: I love games too. I also wanted to create a game someday
Unknown: I am a game developer, I am working on a rhythm game named Osu!. You should try
Manish: I will pass, since I don't have much time because of works and I also don't like rhythm games, it's late I gotta go home, ohh wait we didn't introduced ourself. My name is Manish, nice to meet you
Unknown: I forgot about introduction. My name is peppy, nice to meet you too
Manish: cya maybe we will meet again in future
Peppy: cya

After the long ass convo I leave the bar and start heading toward home, though.. The feeling in the area changed, I started to feel cold and like someone is following me. I thought I drink too much alcohol. I was scared I started walking faster and suddenly I hear something scary, ting ting ting ting... Ohh it was my phone, again I hear a footstep. I started sprinting toward my house and finally I reached it, the house feel wayy far compare to normal days. I took a bath and went to sleep, in my dream there was a unknown shadow which grabing my neck tightly and repeatedly saying, play the game play the game Or else you die or else you die. In the fear I installed osu and whenever I don't play I see the dream at night.

i believe it was 2012 when i saw my first video of osu. this was before i had my own computer, as i was a little kid, and i couldnt download anything on my parents home computer because "itll slow it down". since the first moment i saw this game, i was instantly fascinated, i thought anyone who played osu was just so incredible. i kept watching osu videos and kept the game in the back of my mind until i finally got my own laptop one christmas. osu was the very first thing i downloaded on it, after getting google chrome obviously. i absolutely loved it, i loved the idea of how every single player starts at the very bottom, unlike shooters where prior game experience transfers over or people just have a general higher baseline to start from. osu is the one true game where you only get out what you put into it, if you want to get good then you just have to grind, theres no "top 10 trips and tricks" like in csgo, valorant, or other games like that. i loved it, and i still love it many years later even after ive built myself a $3000 PC, it is practically the only game i still play!

My first experience discovering osu is when i saw a WWW (wubwoofwolf)'s playing scarlet rose and when i watched this video and get curious and in the same time impressed because that game in that year are recently and no one (including me) didn't really know how to play, at least most players back then who played

Looking at it now, this play was not one of the "best things", but for those who were discovering the world of rhythm games at the time, as is the case with other famous plays, such as Nico Nico Douga also from the WWW, or the so acclaimed back then: The Big Black or maybe also the Centipede.

well i was doing stuff and thought hey why not play osu! because why not lets try it and it was cool

I knew that osu existed for years since I occasionally see osu-related content every now and then on YouTube while just passing through. I did even watch some every now and then, but I never actually properly tried it until a few months ago.

Don’t remember exactly how I discovered it, but from what I recalled I was looking up the opening for some random anime(I think it was Dragon Maid idk) then just saw someone playing the osu beatmap for said anime opening. Thought it was interesting so I tried it out, and here we are today.

I was very bored one day that I decided to watch a random stream on Facebook (which I don't really do).
I watched the dude play whatever he's playing and got curious on what the game he was playing.
So I decided to ask what the game was, downloaded osu! and the rest is history lol.
